IT HAS NO VIDEO CALL CAMERA. YOU CAN HOWEVER USE THE MAIN CAMERA TO MAKE VIDEO CALLS. BAD LUCK.

Singapore, 17 June 2008
The C905 is Sony Ericsson’s first Cyber-shot slider and its most advanced camera phone yet. With an 8.1 megapixel camera and real camera flash amongst its cutting-edge capabilities, it offers easy photo-taking in a phone that derives its looks from a digital camera and offers the picture quality to match.

“The C905 Cyber-shot™ and S302 Snapshot have been developed to make us all better photographers! That means making it easier to take great shots and never missing that magic moment.” said Sven Totté, Head of Imaging Marketing at Sony Ericsson. “Although both have photography at their core, the phones are very distinct; the 8.1megapixel C905 is a viable alternative to a digital camera and the S302 is perfect for those who don’t want to miss a moment and like to send or Bluetooth™ their photos to their friends.”

Maybe it's the chinese version.
But I think that's the video calll camera, anyway. Light sensors usually have white coating.

589€, guys. German rrp.

Video call

See who’s talking with your 3G phone. During a video call, you see a live video stream of the person you're talking to - and they can see you.

good stuff, i cant wait to hold it out and at least try it, if it has wifi then thats cool but what kind, and is it locked to DLNA?

aGPS should be nice indoors.

i stand corrected, and were all better for it, thanks!

i dont have access to the new phones and didnt know that there was a new menu interface for the same OS.

Posted by goldenface
That list of specs is the possible the longest and most impressive I have seen yet - on anything.

The new interface is looking good and I hope the media player has been had a nice redesign.

Very impressive design!

Finally SE serve up a feature-phone with everything to compete with the N95! What a cool phone - I'm impressed with those features and also the styling. This makes me think twice about wanting a W980 I'll wait to see what the price drops to after a few months, I guess.

Posted by gh05t
It will be expensive, because it will be the first 8 megapixel phone on the market, but in a few months the price will drop I think

I didn't see any "CCD" labels on the page neither the early sample pics justifies it.

It doesn't need to have drastical GUI improvements in order to be a new software version.

I cant see any info on is using CCD or CMOS there. Where abouts is it?

Looks great btw but the price tag is a bit steep no? Its even more expensive than any Nokia flagship but I guess it is packing an awufl lot.

Can someone please explain to me about the WIFI dlna? I saw someone say that its not normal WIFI and that this is an alternative? What does that mean in terms of general connecting to a WIFI hotspot?

Also is there any clarification on what platform/OS C905 is using?

Posted by strizlow800
This is very nice phone indeed

Posted by >500
it has both DLNA support and WIFI.

it says on the c905 homepage..... something about, connect to wifi hotspots..... so again, it has the 'normal' wifi too.... so dont be worried.

Posted by bavlondon2
Thats good I thought maybe it was some other version meaning we couldnt use regular WIFI. Hopefully some hands on videos will find their way onto youtube today.

Ace phone though, im impressed!

Looks nice. Wouldn't mind a play with one of those.

Posted by masada1971
looks nice, but, so my k850 did, till i made the first shots..hope its camera isnt like my k850 and the colours are natural...and not to mention the other bugs,we all know them...

Posted by Aivar
Too bad that it's too heavy: 136 grams. I personally don't like slider shape also.

Those features (or most of them) should be packed in candybar shape, weight less than 90-100 grams.

does c905 considered as the k850 successor?
