Nokias doing every thing right with their n-series devices (except for their design) so it's no wonder that they have such an impressive market share.

This is nothing short of what I expected, Nokia are way way ahead of every manufacturer. But spare a thought for Apple, they only started manufacturing only one phone last year and have already zoomed past the likes of Sony Ericsson, Motorola and Samsung for the period in the smartphone arena.
I may not like the iphone but bravo on this achievement!

Hardware wise I'll agree. Not marketing ... and as you can see, sales numbers from the same qtr the previous year have ONLY increased less than 3 million - WORLDWIDE. Anyone notice RIM has more than DOUBLED their number of sold units by the SAME comparison?! This is digging into Nokia's marketshare and will increase to do so WorldWide. We'll see just how much it affects Nokia by the next 3 qtr's and compare them to last years results.
E71 vs Bold
future N series vs Kickflip
etc etc. Nokia have GOT to start marketing more effectively. The old saying of build it and they'll come will NOT last for long.

Check out the BB improvement!
that is awesome, 107%!
Well done RIM!

@fatreg
Yeah, I didn't even pay attention to that, that is staggering indeed. The best of the lot. Well done to RIM!

Hi all,
Well IMO it would be a mistake to under estimate Rim and there BB's as shortly for the first time we will see BB with the Bold offering all the tech any one could want with nothing left out even Multimedia and the screen have been greatly improved. This is due anytime now and will be followed by late Summer with the Thunder BB's first Touchscreen device which should have very similar spec's to the Bold and IMO has the potential to really expand the Rim user base and also be real competition for the iPhone especially in the Business Market and even the X1.
Even though i have now used S60 for just two years since leaving UIQ even i am considering the Bold if i can get over the screen size or the Thunder if i can get used to the touchscreen. But then lets not forget the S60 Touch UI is coming and who yet knows just how good that may be but it would be brave person to bet against Nokia delivering to their already waiting user base.
Marc

You never know they just might.
Look at Apple's Q1 percentage for 2007 - ZERO%
Look at Apple's Q1 percentage for 2008 - from zero to third place in less than one year.

Did you see the "Other" column with 20+ percent. How many of the 20% is HTC you think . I bet if they break that down, Apple may not be number 3 anymore.
