as title..

Animal (the surfing people) did a watch in 1997/1998/1999ish time called "Bug"

It was their first digital watch.

well, I want one.. anyone got one?

can't find a pic online anywhere...

Have been googling but can't seem to find a picture at all, what's it look like or do you know the product code, could email animal would be easier to find with that, will keep looking.

Posted by fatreg
it actually looks like a trilobite...

Posted by haynesycop
I'm guessing your going to need serious money because i can't find anything on it not even a picture, will keep looking though.

Posted by fatreg
yeah, they retailed for about £70-80 back in 1997/99 and I didn't buy one, as they were seriously "uncool" but the form has always stuck in my head and now 8 years later I want one! the downside is, as they were "uncool" hardly any were sold.....

rocking horse s*it springs to mind..

But Animal being a very local company I will do my damnedest to get my mitts on one!! (although they've changed owners since the days of actually just doing purely watches and straps)

When i was googling i came across a forum to do with cycling or bikes and there was a post made by somebody who was looking to sell one they had, the post was dated in March this year. I guess you could register and email the guy see if he still has it, will dig it out.

Posted by fatreg
saw that, email him, severe lack of response thus far!

Posted by haynesycop
I thought i did well to find that!

Can't believe there isn't a picture anywhere, have you emailed Animal too?

Hello,

Back in the days when I was at Poole Grammar School, I used to peruse MBUK and in about '97ish time you released a watch called "Bug", I decided not to get one but instead get one of your Pro Series jobbies (W004) and it has served my superbly, anyway, Bug... I want one, any ideas on earth of where I might be able to track one down? Being a local lad, and you being a local company I thought you might have some ideas? being a biker, I've asked Clive at Bikelab to which I received a blank response, Do you carry old stock that I could possibly inherit for a pricely sum? or simply do you have the model number to make my searching a little easier? there's only so many pages I can look through on google after entering "animal bug digital watch" or phases based on that, oh and while I'm here, I wish you would decorate HQ depending on the seasons, I can see "Animal house" from my house and it needs sprucing up! (well, I think it does!)

Thanks in advance

e-Mail. Done.

Your a nutter!

Posted by fatreg
Would you have me any other way?

Posted by haynesycop
Course not that would just be boring!

i noticed that you were talking' about the Animal W004 pro-series watch. I own one myself, but it doesn't work like it should. (i dropped it onto the floor from 1 meter, so its not very strong...) believe the internal time module is broken, sometimes the watch just stops. (it's not the battery)

Does anybody know if i can still get it fixed somewhere? it's pretty old.

Grtz

Posted by fatreg
You can send it to Animal in Poole, Dorset and they will fix it for you, prices and details on animal.co.uk or you could sell it to me, that's an older W004 than I have and not a pro series one but still cool nevertheless...

Won one on eBay last night, will post pics when I get it

Googling around I found this

Why the hell would someone copy and paste selective bits of my posts!?

he wanted to get it first and then sell it to you.

Posted by fatreg
I did think that guess he didn't have as much luck as me then!!

Posted by fatreg
Got it!

Love it to bits already... immense watch...will post pics when I get a chance

Posted by Berry
Does it beat your Rado Mr?

Posted by fatreg
In a sense yes, I've wanted one ever since I first saw one and having been recalled and withdrawn from sale and all existing owners having theirs replaced it's a bloody rare watch, ie, I've never ever seen anyone with one and you can see Animal HQ from my house....

Judging by the chap I got it from I would suggest he is some big wig in Animal but I'm not gonna argue, it'll cost Animal a lot more than a new watch to get it off my wrist!

Posted by Burgaz
So what does it look like?

Posted by Berry
@Burgaz .

12 at the top, 6 at the bottom ....actually its digital. He cant tell the time yet...

Just kidding

I love it so that's all that matters to me

Are those a teddy bear's legs?

The phone looks somehow...retro, but nice at the same time. Not for me though. Haven't used a watch since primary i think.

Just tired googling this to see if I can find another and this is the first result in Google... seems their popularity hasn't increased!!

Posted by fatreg
Found 2 on eBay yesterday, currently en route to me!

Posted by uni02
Hi,
I have a Animal Watch W004 if you are interested?
thanks
Elaine

Posted by fatreg
W004 is the animal pro series one, it would all depend on condition and what actual model it is, the W004 covers about 50 watches!

Pictures?

Cheers
