What are my options for a Saturday job? Don't want to give out leaflets or paper round. I would say I'm hard-working and organised. So what could I do?

Thanks.

start your own business, the answer to your question obviously depends on your skills and interests...

Nothing proper untill your 16 and u get ur NI thing. I tried and they just be all dodgy about it.

Unless your parents know someone or you do yourself its gonna be hard.

Ummm, can anyone else see the words 'illegal child labour' flagging their way to GAME?

Ooh didn't spot that post!

How can someone under 18 sell 18 age restricted products?

As long as an over 18 approves it they are ok. I have been sold alcohol by under 18's in supermarkets but they always get permission.

It's not that, it's just to work in a shop or anything above a paper round, you have to be at least 16. I suspect somehow the manager is paying him 'cash under the counter' until his birthday or something.

18 or not, unless it's booze or ciggies you don't have to be 18 I don't think.

I was selling phone contracts aged 16, because theres no laws against it.

You can sell alcohol in supermarkets under 18 with permission from your supervisor or someone over 18 but not tobacco, well when i worked in JS you had to be 18 to work on the kiosk. I thought you could work at 15 under some law but it's very minimal hours and your entitled to longer breaks.

Ask friends of your family it's the best way.

I had Babysitting Jobs, Housekeeping and Manager jobs off relatives and friends at your age and up

I was going to add a link to my original posting when I wrote it... but I thought people would realise the days of sending small children up chimneys and the mills had ended a while back....

Anyway...
"Children and young people under school leaving age (England and Wales only)

There are strict limits to the hours children and young people under school leaving age (see under heading General rules on employment) are allowed to work. You must not work:-

* during school hours on any school day
* for more than two hours on any school day or for more than 12 hours in any week in which you are required to go to school
* for more than two hours on a Sunday
* for more than eight hours (five hours if you are under 15) on any day which is not a school day or a Sunday
* before 7am or after 7pm
* for more than 35 hours (25 if you are under the age of 15) in any week in which you are not required to go to school
* for more than four hours in any day without a break of one hour
* at any time, if during the 12 months beginning 1 January, working means that you have not had two uninterrupted weeks of holiday from school."

Good luck to thomas93 on finding a saturday job... as my friend's nephew has done...

draw up a quick CV (be rather easy if you havnt had any jobs. then just walk around town and walk into shops you would like to work in and ask if they have any saturday jobs. if they say yes, just hand them your CV
