Well, thats my opinion as well.Thats why I Laid it up.Have a glance at the bumblebee shot trough my reading glass from 25 cm(macro like).
Posted by karlsson
One of the reasons for the blurrynes could be the samsung is autofocusing at the house. But I must say G700 are doing a brilliant job weres there is light. It could take pictures in dark but it realy strugeling.Evening indoor shot in my hunting cabin. No flash. It realy striving to perform.

there is no dummy phones in this store,,they even have the w760!! but i forgot to take a picture of it ugh

G900, auto settings.
i'm amazed at how little noise there seems to be with this camera, even in artificial light indoor conditions.something my K800 used to have was a very colourful sky at full size, but with the G900 that seems to have been reduced quite alot!!not almost completely, as previously stated (i just had to have another look really).but the sky is definately alot better which i am very happy about.

is it me or the samsung pic seems to be a bit lurry. The g700 seems to have better sharpness with the leaves.Look at the top right corner. The leaves are fading away in the Samsung pic while in the g700 its still quite sharp. The colors are well..
I think the G700 holds up very well here with detail but the colour balance is all off, I think it needed a different setting. If you take the blue haze down with Photoshop it looks better than the Samsung pic:

taken by a friend- she aint bad lol - just needed to lower white balance..(thats me in the middle btw, with my two 'curry mates')
leaving knox shopping centre..bit of a sunset - but not good enough! to compete in this months photos shoot-out lol..(too far!)
self portrait - smoking argile/shisha(however you spell it lol)
at a place called minzaman - Lygon st, Melbourne before going clubbing.
also the photo no. is DSC00666 - funny too, i have red eyes in this shot; evil lurks within?
lol keep them coming folks very nice shots..

Wow, I am impressed by the G900. Hmm. Too bad am not sure am gonna get it but good for SE even if it's the last UIQ device...
Posted by gavster001
I am also very impressed with the 5MP picture quality. very nice colors!
but being a P1i user, I am still reluctant to upgrade to G900 just for the cam. Im waiting for a true P series successor with faster Ram and Processor.
keep posting guys!

Hmmzz....Looks like there is always this purpelish dye in every picture taken with the G900, especially when you see clouds or daylight behind trees or somekind.
I hope they fix it with the next firmware version, but if not it's not that big of a deal.I bought the G900 myself yesterday by the way.Great device.Didn't buy it for the camera alone, everything is just so good.
Posted by Alex_230
that purple dye is actualy purple fringing due to a small photo sensor and small lens. that's a hardware issue not a firmware one.

I was afraid of that...But on the other hand, samsung also uses small (very small ) sensors and I never noticed anything like that? Also, I took some "test pictures" and 800kb for a 5mp picture is way to low !My brother's D900 with 3.2mp sensor takes larger pictures than that by moments!
So, maybe there is some room for improvement bij tweaking the software so it doesn't compress that much?A 5mp picture should EASILY be 2-3 times bigger than that...

here are some more random ones from my trotting around..
a decent shot of a stream of sun flare..
Macro shot! - some random sticker ona seat...Pyrex - American glass lol
My mates Mazda 3 - not a bad shot.
also my average photos in sizes are
742kb
to
1427kb..
so yeah..just depends on how much detail there is or isnt in every photo you take..
lataz all and happy hunting

It will probably not work. The MXE-60 flash is only compatible with the old 2 MP phones K750, W800, W810 and W900 AFAIK. Kind of odd really that it doesn't work with other phones as I thought the purpose of the accessory port was to allow changing accessories between phones freely.
Am I the only one that believe that the software developers at SE must be experiencing a really bad case of apathy when seeing so little new innovation on the hardware side?

Here some more G700 snapping.

i am very dissapointed with the macro option in the g900. it can't focus at close range. even my w810 or k550 can focus closer than the g900.
what's the maximum closest distance that G900 shoots sharp close-ups?

G900
All these pictures are taken with standard settings, as you can see, none of these pictures are overexposed.
In my opinion, for outdoor conditions it is a excellent camera, but it needs enough light in its environment.
Also, avoiding direct sunlight or situations where it can reflect on things ( like a bright car ) is a good thing because it urges to slightly purplish pictures. But this is hard to notice and you only notice this when you compare the same picture taken with an other mobile.
I'm happy with the picture of the cat for instance. It shows a lot of detail and even in full size it remains pretty sharp. The picture of the cat was taken with the macro modus.

G700 users ...i need some review ..what do you think about the phone ? bad comments i read from gsmarena ...i guess they are just bashers there ...i need some unbiased opinion about the phone ..the other thread about g700 discussion is so dead ..hope some users can give their opinion here ..thanks

@ Hao-hao.I find the G700 quite good. It`s my first uiq phone ,had s60 before.
It has worked without a hitch. No restarts nessesery.Easy menu system.Good battery time(10 days On at 7.00 am off at 17.00 pm 3-5 min of talk +5 sms some snapping.checking hotmail a few times during that 10 days.) .Realy fast to write with an ordinery school pencil at the onscreen qwerty.Open sms is slow, could be enoying.Startup time around a minute.Well I dont know what you like to know .If you have some questions I
will try to answer them.
Ps It`s the only phone you could get an sms away with 3 orders beside writing the message.(spelling is not my sirname)

how do you guys get such great quality pictures out of the G900? most of mine turn out to have so much noise or really blurred even tho the lighting is good. any tips?
Posted by karlsson
I supose there is an old and a new firmware. But in my oppinion there is a slight mist on all of them. They seem dark in some aqward way. But yet crisp and by no means bad. Its a phone for god sake.

Sorry. When using mini opera I sometimes get two posts. It tells me I cant replay at my on post and deliver two posts. Hmm strange.

There are a lot of nice photos here. I thought that the quality wouldn't be this good.
If someone could upload a video in the best quality that would be greatly appreciated.

I tried to upload video but the format wasn`t accepted.

Been out in my hunting cabin again. In middle of no were. At least 15 km to nearest gsm mast. And I`ve got two bars receptions.Doing all my job via miniopera.

Hmm, all right...
Perhaps you can upload the video somewhere else, for instance https://mydisk.se/ , and then post an url here?
edit: I am mostly interested in the G900, but it would of course also be interesting to see the video quality of the G700.

@ karlsson thanks for the reply ..opne sms is slow? how slow is it? also, i would like to know about the speaker quality ..is it loud enough? and is the phone laggy?
[ This Message was edited by: hao-hao on 2008-07-18 13:23 ]
Posted by karlsson
@ Hao-hao.The phone is not laggy as long as you have the programs in ram memory then they are instant.Open an sms differs a bit, if you have a lot of old sms stored it takes around 4 sec to open.othervise when empty say 2 to 3 sec. When it comes to speakers are they loud enough but they can`t beat Nokia in lissening experience. Here some Cat shot.

This outdoor pic was ok:
However indoor pics seem to be very fuzzy at full 5MP resolution and resized too! :'(
I hope something can be done about this with a firmware upgrade?
