So any news on the next camera phone by SE?
Sure there's C902 and C702, but neither offers anything better than the k850i..camera wise.

The G900 also has a nice 5MP, but lacks a xenon flash (like the C702/C902?)
Which is a shame IMO...the G900 would a very nice step for me if it had xenon flash=(!! (and microSD support)

Love the design of k850.. If only it's thinner, not too much mirror finish at the front n rear (fingerprint magnet), n MORE stable f/w.. C902 is thin, but doesn't like the 'waffer' style dsign..

K850i successor - Shiho - slider, 7 or 8 megapixels.

Check out Rumors section.

I HATE the K850i design... Glossy, creaky, dust-prone and with no lens cover. And the small buttons are a pain to use... I've tried them, a friend has the phone, and he had it in service for 2 weeks already. But I have to admit, the K850i does have some pretty good features... Which is why I'm anxious for a "repackaging" (like SE did with K800i/K810i), hopefully with a much better design.

And I really don't want a cybershot phone to be as thin as the C902 (with the current technology, a thin phone equals bad optics in the camera and small sensor). I'm really happy with a bulky phone like the K800i.

Shiho - This codename has been linked to the next flagship Cyber-shot, already in development. It is 'likely' that this will surface before Q308 and enthusiasts will be pleased to learn that the quality of the optics, as well as the pixel count (7.0MP+), are in for a boost. Other rumoured specifications for this breakthrough device are as follows: TV/Out, HSDPA, HSUPA, Xenon flash, A-GPS, WLAN, Slider format, BT 2.1.

sounds good to me:P

Well, they also said that Paris was 'likely' to be the N95 or N82 killer, with a VGA 3" screen, GPS etc. and now it almost turns out to be a P1 update, with the same hardware.

I'm not ditching SE yet, but I think I'll just wait for some official announcements... Does anyone know when the next one will be?

ill never ditch SE haha, but im just hoping for the good old service to come back

Someone from the rumours section said it will be 8MP

why are they boosting the MP so much when the lens is the thing that needs updating...

8MP on a crappy sensor wont look better than k800's 3.2mp

I'm sure they've got good sensors in Japan, seriously. With 7, 8, maybe even 10 MP phones (check out Samsung). SE just better start bringing some of that technology to Europe and the US...

because most of the people believed that more pixel = better photo quality

SE out of all companys to kill the n95.. lol n95 should have been killed ages ago and SE are still catching up to its supremity.

8mp is just taking the p*ss now. Its already been proven that most cam phones can't handle 5mp, let alone 8

I dont like commercialism..
SE should be about quality, especially their high end phones.. not about marketing=(

I can't say I blame them for the commercialism. In order to put out quality high-ends, they gotta make some money first from mid- and low-ends.. This is what Nokia do all the time. The trouble is that, unlike Nokia, SE stopped shipping the quality high-ends it had 2-3 years ago and just brings out the refurbished, old hardware.
