Hi y'all,

Just noticed this (didn't use the media player for some time) abd i don't know if anyone has reported it too.
In ALL tracks some frequency ranges cannot be heard, tipically voice ranges, but sometimes bass ranges too.
I'm just listening to instrumentals fer christ sakes!!!!
The mp3 playback is very very poor with some background noises like the ones we ear when watching a realplayer video, some wow-ing instead of a voice.

Tried everything, stop music, change equalizer, turn off phone, you name it!

FW: R1EA037 (generic western europe)

Maybe it's a headphone issue? Do you get the same thing when you play the music through the loudspeakers?

Maybe it could, but i doubt it very much...
The wow-ing makes me think that it is an MP3 reproduction issue.

I had that but it was when I turned on the stereo widening. Try to turn that of if it is on on.

well, find yourself someone else with a SE phone to see if it's headphone/wire/connector problem

you're missing some of the vocals and some of the instrumentals are more pronounced, right?

Mine was a headset adapter that decided to die.

Simple way to check, turn the FM radio on on your phone. If it sounds the same as listening to mp3's, then it's headset death.

lol
ye why dont you play music via the speaker XD?

cos I'm on the bike a lot, and even at the loudest volume it's kinda hard to hear my music with traffic rolling past me.

Hence the need for decent headphones.

Spot on!
I figured that out too, i had to unplug/plug the headset from the phone (can't say if i had to change the stereo settings too or not).

The way it sounded was like a badly encoded audio output. My guess is the phone was outputting the audio with quality settings optimized for voice calls.
Maybe the phone has some kind of optimization for sound processing, using less quality for voice and better quality for audio, and somehow it got mixed up.

Just my two cents...
