I've been using the P1i for almost 10 months. I really like the feature of touch screen, very different from a LCD phone. I don't use a lot the WLAN and the document reader application so that's one reason I've been thinking about leaving my P1i for a K850. Another reason is that using a keypad is faster than tapping the screen on the P1i, also the K850 has a great design and an amazing camera. I'm not a business man, so would it be a downgrade to change to the k850? What do you think guys? What about the screen size? P1i's is bigger I think. correct?

P1 is 2.6 where as k850 is 2.2 but same resolusion. If ur not in to business k850 is awesome phone with great design and features.

it's really not a downgrade.. coz both phones are under different categories.. but expect a different experience once you get a k850i.. but overall, it's a good phone.. screen is great on the k850.. photos are getting better as well.. play with a k850 in one of the mobile stores there to get the feeling of it before changing your phone..

cheers!

I would probably go to a mobile store and play with the k850. I hope they have one! Or keep my P1i and get the K850 and sell the one I don't like. A tough decision !!

indeed a tough decision,
i also would go to a store and check out the k850,
and then compare it with your p1, best thing you could do!

my personal opinion, get the k850 and im sure you will love it as it has everything you need !

Why I didnt find you when I was selling my k850...

Well I'm planning to buy the K850 from mobilecityonline.com. By the way, I bought my P1i from that website

Have both of them, first was a K850. Now I use it rarely, if anything. Dissapointing to see that apart camera and texting there is not much to it. Media player looks nice but only until you try to play a video.. Like ballon head chick. Has the looks but not the brains. You get bored before you even try it

You know that I just convert a DVD movie into MP4 format, the total size was almost 1gb. My P1 wasn't able to play it, so I had to divide the movie into 3 parts. What's wrong with the K850's media player when you play a video??

wait for the incoming new models for this quarter.. i think that's better.. you have c902 and g900 lined up for Q2 around may/june..

pi1 to k850i, definitely a downgrade.

im not having any problems playing (large) video files, so i dont know..

Posted by brunoXT
how large is your video ??

Posted by @ftyk
@brunoxt,
using the alphanumeric keypad on the k850i might be faster than the virtual keyboard on the p1i but the qwerty keyboard of the p1i is surely faster than the k850i's alphanumeric keypad.

P1 is better

Wait for the G900, that way you get best of both worlds although you do sacrifice a few features either way. But looking at the spec sheet, it looks to be a good all round performer.

brunoXT, you are not seriously saying the k850 is better than the P1 for video playing are you???

also...if you canīt play that video you mentioned on the p1, its because it was badly encoded...

Well I haven't tried the video player on the k850, I also think that symbian OS makes the phone slower. Besides I like the design, the screen and camera of the k850. I still don't know what to do! I think I need more time to think about it!

Posted by nikolat
Symbian is a bit slower but has much more possibilities...

It really depends on your needs and taste.

I would keep the P1.

Since I have my P1i I haven't install any application, the only app I have is Garmin Mobile, which is very helpful when I'm in the US(right now I'm overseas), so that's one reason I'd like to have the K850. If I do the change I would have to look for another GPS software compatible with the K850 !

@aksd,
can you make a post in which you don't contradict your own statement?
g900 : "you get best of both worlds although you do sacrifice a few features".
duh!
are you helping or confusing?
the author has mentioned 2 phones he wants to decide from & the g900 is not 1 of them is that so difficult for you to comprehend?

Posted by brunoXT
I don't really like the design of the G900, I rather keep my P1i even though the G900 has a better camera.
I think I might ending up buying the K850 and use both phones (k850 and P1i).
