What are your preferred browsers for surfing the good ol' intranet?

I like FlashPeak Slimbrowser. Tabs are so easy.

Now I use Firefox. Previously I used Opera and sometimes Firefox too, but when I bought laptop with Windows Vista my Opera always crashes so I stopped using it and now I use only Firefox

I use Firefox on my Mac. I just like its ease of use and appearance over Safari. I've heard Safari is quicker, but during my speed tests it didn't perform much better, if better at all.

I'm Using both Opera(most of the time) and FireFox, for downloads i mainly use Opera

Firefox no doubt...best browser i had

Firefox for me. I've used Opera for a pretty long time but it just doesn't beat Firefox.

FF3 beta 5 is wonderful, memory bugs fixed, smoother with lots of tabs..

ie7 for my pc & opera mini 4.1 for my phone.

Posted by bluezinc
Firefox for me but it's mainly the add-ons and persona customisation that's kept me with it.

Looking forward to 3.0 being released.

Yes! two add-ons that i frequently use are ScrapBook and Live HTTP Headers, and with All-in-One Sidebar i have opera panels feature, not to mention Tab Mix Plus, FlashGot, ......

that's why i like open source.

Yeah, some nice features and improvements in FF3B5, with FF being my most used browser.

IE 8 doesnt look too different from 7 and also crashes alot for me lol

Firefox, though it takes a huge amount of RAM. Well over 150MB when browsing a couple of websites.

Really? Considering I'm on a Mac, does anybody know how Safari compares in regards to RAM?

Posted by nicv27
firefox and safari

Posted by arien617
Oli:

That's with Finder (obv.), Safari with 5 tabs, iTunes playing a tack, Messenger:Mac with 3 conversations.
So you do the maths, not a lot of RAM.

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Thanks, Arien617. You wouldn't happen to have Firefox to compare to as well? I think to get a true comparison, you'd have to do it on the same computer right?

Hi all

I am using Safari now on my Vista Laptop and the Nokia Safari based browser on my E90. Safari does indeed IMO seem to be faster and the only site i have had trouble opening with it is MSN.Com and even then only on the desktop version.

I know many of you all seem to love Opera personally i just can't get on with it at all, neither the Desktop version or even Opera Mini 4 that i recently tried due to it's great reviews do it for me in the slightest n fact i would go as far as to say i hate them.

Marc

I'm thinking about switching back to Safari from Firefox now... Dunno if I should.

Posted by QVGA
Its a known issue with Firefox and is fixed in the version 3.0

Posted by strizlow800
Firefox RULEZ for desktop web browser...

Opera mini 4 (and opera mini with downloads support) are the best browsers for my phone imo...

Posted by The Lostprophet
i use firefox 3 beta but sometimes cant load a few websites, or chokes up totally. so i switch to safari on my mac

When i use my pc its on latest release of firefox that isnt a beta.

Posted by arien617
Naa, sorry Oli.

Opera Mini on my K800, Opera Mobile or Webby (a tabbed plugin for Pocket IE) on my WM handset, and IE7 on the PC.

After reading so many good things about Safari I decided to install it on vista. Well, after 2 weeks I must say I'm highly disappointed.

Been using Firefox and have to say it is way faster than Safari, in fact Safari almost reminds of Internet Explorer, it is not as wonderful as some of the reviews say it is for me.

Posted by procterdc
Thinkin i might have a change from IE7. What works better do u reckon on Windows XP its got 200GB HDD, 3GHZ processor, 1GB DDR RAM.

Want websites to load up quicker.

Posted by Daedalus85
lol, thats down to your internet connection with a pc like that, not your browser

Anyway, IE6 all the way for me, nothing more, nothing less.
