Just say you walk past mcdonalds and they send you a message saying
"Get two burgers for the price of one if you show this message at the
counter in the next 10 minutes". Thats what push is, spammers
heaven.

I'm in the UK, luckily they don't seem to have come across the Push services yet so no spam for me right now.... apart from the odd SMS one

push services are those sent to you by the network without you requesting for it.

not all bad, though. sometimes, you can subscribe to push services, like sports scores for example, so when your team is playing, the network would send you live score updates periodically.

To get a coupon as you pass a fast food joint your carrier has to have your location info in a more useable format than they do at this time here in the states, the hype for loc. based tech. Was huge but i haven't heard much about it latley.all of my headlines and stuff like that comes as a regular sms with a 3 digit sender. I would love to see a working example of this. As usual i'm sure the us is lagging behind the rest of the world
