congrats! my k850i is still on service point after second brod,and first and second brod on my phone is by using soft keys which stays in and i can't do anything else that moment on the phone its freez i must take out the battery when i back battery and try to start the phone : brod!does is problem in bad soft keys?SORRY FOR MY REALLY BAD ENGLISH

This is what I always thought about the BROD,the new vibrating feature for soft key in 031 has been perhaps badly implemented and is conflicting with other files to the point to corrupt them...
I don't know what SE people are doing for the next FW,UIQ 3.3

the newest news from today from my local s.e. service centar here in Zagreb:after second brod motherboard in your k850i is dead!call us for a few days...

i dont know why is dead?how?...first time in my life after 10 years on ericsson

Recovered mine today from BROD with Davinci, works great, though I think it's nice ridiculous that this mess should have ever happened in the first place.

@ Croatia Don't be afraid!! SE centers told me too that it's dead and that there are no ways to repair it,but I finally tried with Kulankendi and IT WORKED,no problems at all and it's fast.
You have to buy for 8 euros SE kulankendi credits,then download their ''client'' from their website,in the client you choose ''download files'' and you will have a list of language pack,choose one and take FS AND MAIN,it's about 35mb the 2 files,then you return to the client ,press ''flash phone'' and follow the instructions,it's VERY easy and take only 12mins

And don't forget to check ''Finalize''

thanx a lot Vegetaleb but my k850 is still on the service center they will change motherboard for a new one i can not do anything now!just wait! maybe is not the best phone on the world but is the best when work!

im now trying using KK Client.. when im about to flash, KK Client will prompt to hold 'C' button etc.. i do it but nothing is happening... what to do now? i've already downloaded the FS 7 MAIN... im stuck.. help!

Don't forget to check FINALISE and to download the MAIN + FS from their network,remove battery reinsert battery then press and hold C while pluggin the USB cable,once plugged release your finger from C when the client begin to show infos about your k850

i already did that.. still KK Client is still not showing any info about my phone.. i even held on the 'C' button for more than 20secs already.. help! please...

EDIT: MY PHONE GOES TO MASS STORAGE MODE WTF!?! ARGH!! Im getting frustrated!!! help!!

yah, dats what i did.. just like with X++ right??click on flash, then battery thingy, then connect usb.. but still nothing... i feel im getting ripped off with KK.. aaaarrrggh...

I am sending it to SE tomorrow, with a friend of mine to saudi arabia.(Warranty)

I know for a fact they wont be able to fix it, so i will have a brand new one.
When i get the brand new K850i, i will sell it and wait for the Xperia X1

it's an extra reason for me to get rid of the K850i and buy the X1.

I didnt like the K850 at all, probably the worst sony ericsson i have ever owned.

They should have advertised in there specs :

1-New function BROD
2-Bad 5 megapixel camera
3-Worst touch buttons
4-Slowest phone
5-... ...

They will probably have more customers, because they are being honest now.

I loved ericsson, i still love sony ericsson. I never owned another brand, i dont want to.

I had almost all ericsson and sony ericssons, but by far the 2 worst phone i had ever owned were the P990i and the K850i

I had a n95 and the K850 has better photos and brighter screen,as for the touch buttons they are far better than samsung ones...

Hi, My phone has worked flawlessly for a month but now when I start up my k850i the only thing that happens is a blue ring lights up where the camera lense is and the keyboard lights up but the screen remains black. When I try to update it with with sony software it remains stuck at 0%. I read that flashing the phone might work but is there any way I can do this for free? Thanks.

However if there is no free way of doing it and you have a similar problem then KulanKendi or davinci is the only option??

Flashing at SE Service Centre is free as it is under warranty. Other than that, NO.

Okay, so I really wanted to fix my BRODed phone and I bought credits on KulanKendi & downhloaded 037 Western Europe Main & Fs files. I then connected the phone holding "C" everything was going dandy, it was flashing Main then it got to 98% and gave me this error:

"Error: Data Block Not Accepted! >0x00"

What is wrong? Is my phone deader than dead or what?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: Think phone ran out of battery, working now

Also is it worth my while updating EROM on k5850? Can KulanKendi even do that yet?

EDIT 2: Should I now not upgrade my firmware using SEUS becuase it means i'm more likely to get BROD or does it not have anything to do with that?

BROD can occur at ANY time even after 2 months and even if your phone has no reboot at all...

Well, f*** you SE. I just had my second BROD. Really sudden, no other resets in the past month. I had R1EA037. The phone was on the table, nobody was using it.

I managed to start the phone again only after a reflash from DaVinci.

So 3 f*** yous to SE:

1. For not being able to correct this shitty problem YET.
2. For not offering for free what DaVinci offers for 10 euros.
3. For losing all my data every time this crap phone decides to die.

These guys at SE are really big imbeciles.

I flashed my unbranded to R1EA037
so far seems to be fine.
Althought the Activity key (the shorcuts key) isn't working.

Now when i go to service tests and press the key, says Menu activity, which means nothing is wrong with the key itself but with the firmware.
Do you guys have the same problem?

Right after R1C, means R1D and R1E are succeptible to have the BROD.

Mine came with R1C037 but I end up updating with SEUS because some java issues and speed was kinda slow.
Now (with R1E) is fine, no reboots whatsoever but I'm afraid that BROD is coming anytime soon, just like a scary thing.
