Hi! As you have noticed the BROD bug or blue ring of death that the K850 is getting is the most dangerous and irritant bug,my K850 is in a SE repair center but they still have difficulties on flashing it,they are saying it's stopping in the middle of the process(formating or installing the FW I don't know),some people here whoever said that they could ''repair'' their k850's BROD with Davinci or other thir party softwares.
This topic is here for helping people like me who need real alternatives for giving a second life for our K850 after a BROD,so for all the guys who have succefully recovered their K850 after a BROD PLEASE SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE,what's the tool you used,how hard it was to do it,and how much it cost...
For those who could not recover their k850 after passing by a SE center or even using Davinci or other flashing soft,also share your stories because it would show that SE SHOULD replace any K850 that died because of BROD for free and even if their are no warranty

I've had 2 BROD's, both fixed by DaVinci. First one was after upgrading to 031 using SEUS, 2nd one was after DaVinci fixed the 1st BROD by putting 031 back on the phone. The next time I went to DaVinci to recover, I put 037 because I've had enough rebooting and crashing. Going 2 weeks strong now, MAYBE 1 reboot during that period. I might not have the snazzy vibrate when touching the soft buttons, but I do have a functioning phone

It's weird that Davinci flashing works well with the BROD bug and not the SE center flashing methods!!!

What's the process? how to install a ''clean'' FW means deleting completly the buggy MAIN and FS?
THE TWO SE CENTERS I VISITED CLAIMED THAT THEY CAN'T REPAIR IT BECAUSE THE FLASHING IS STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PROCESS!!! what should I do? Davinci and the other softs can work where SE failed?

Sure you can downgrade to R1CA037 with KulaNKendi. Just run the Client with your login and read the instructions. Good luck.
BTW, I have no idea why SE Service Centre can't flash the phone.

I found DaVinci very easy to work with, but the price is a bit high, mostly because the weak $$$ I suppose
I've now made friends with an SETool owner who has already fixed my K790i which was killed by Wotan server trying to put retail EROM on prototype phone and he can pretty much fix/reflash/repair the K850 pretty easily.

I send it to warranty, they had my phone for two weeks, but they fixed, they told me that put a new firm, came with R1EA, i had some boots but nothing serius,

Davinci is taking 50 credits for a k850 flash right? means 90$!!!
If my phone is not repaired by the ''unbrander'' guy(he wouldn't tell me which system he will use) I will try kukendi for 8 euros(14$)

I didn't have a BROD but a flashed with Da Vinci to upgrade my handset. It was soo... easy, i could actually do it with my eyes closed. Purchase credits, create account, download client, connect phone and your away. It costs 10euro, £8, $16. Very easy.
ONE THING, when finished, and turning phone on again, be very patient, my phone displayed the 'Please Wait' Notice for about 2 mins whilst it sorted everything out, very worried that £140 was going to disapear before my eyes, worked simlessly. Upgraded to 031 using SEUS, been going strong for a week now...

When flashing with Davinci and others,does Davinci ''format'' the K850 before reinstalling the FW?
I am asking that because SE centers could not flash with their own system because they don't erase anything but write over and I think they only flash the FS file without the MAIN,perhaps a SE policy?
The corrupted files are preventing the flashing in SE methods while not with Davinci!!!

Davinci flashes MAIN and FS and FOTA parts of the firmware at the same time. It overwrites the previous ones on the phone, but it doesn't "format" anything.
SEUS only updates MAIN and maybe a part of FS, thus retaining contacts, messages, settings and other things. Davinci resets all those things because it writes the complete firmware (MAIN+FS).
I really wish that SE would come up with a way to back up settings and contacts (including picture and ringtone associations), SMS. Currently, we can only do it partially. This was my problem when I experienced a BROD the other day. I'll be travelling in less than a week, so you guys can imagine my frustration when my phone died so soon before my vacation. Anyway, flashing R1CA037 with Davinci fixed it. I'm not really bothered anymore by having an older firmware, as long as it will work. Took me over two hours to restore everything, though...

second brod on my k850 first at r1ea031 now on r1da038 is freez and i tuck the batery out and put it back but brod again first time was be on alarm funktion i press turn off but it shows brod and keypads lights i leave k850 in the service today sorry for my bad english

Bad news for me! SE technical center here in Lebanon CEPP said my phone is dead and that they can't flash it!!!
Why in the name of God my BROD can't be repaired by SE? I will try with kulankendi tonight or tomorrow...if it works I will send an Email to SE international to shut down CEPP because they would be really a bunch of ****

Ive just got my new K850i from Tmobile and its got the usual branding on it
When taking a picture should the blue ring light be on cos when i turn the camera on it comes on for a second then goes off!
When debranding the phone what firmware would you put on considering so many people having brod.

r1ea031 western europe from seus works 8 days before brod on my k850 r1da038 central europe around 20 days be4 brod i go now on r1ea031 south east europe friend of my have not any prob since march 17! for you is smarter solution is wait next upgrade after r1ea031 if you have not probs on 037

i was try just overwright firmware via seus after brod but i cannnot process stops on zero % after a few minutes error try again afaik you must delete everything from the phone including complete firmware be4

SEUS only works with working and normal phones. SEUS can't revive BROD-affected phone. Only full flashing is the remedy.

What should I say to the SE technical center? They already try a normal flash and didnt work! I can't buy Davinci nor Kulankendi credits because paypal doesn't accept my country(Lebanon)...
I am going back to the SE center because they forgot to replace the IMEI metalic plate last time in my K850
so if I can tell them something specific to do on my K850 they will do it,but what?

For those who already got BROD it will not be repairable with a update but with a complete and full flash using the MAIN and FS files

At everybody who is getting random reboots and BRODs.
I have looked around other places and if you want to avoid both things what you have to do is:
-Try not to minimize applications and start using the phone as normal, it strains the processor and eventually causes a reboot or shutdown
-Everyday, turn off your phone, take out the battery, and start it up again (not when plugged in) This refreshes all components in the phone and starts it up agian with cleared ram and processor
-Do not plug in your phone to charge when the phone is off, there have been reports of people coming to BRODs
-Install themes to phone, there have been reports of people getting BRODs by installing themes to the memory card.
-Start-up, use a start up component that will come before the start-up picture. This allows the phone to sort everything out before you start using it. Some who have already done this will notice a short delay between the insert password poping up and actually being able to enter text, this is what i'm talking about
-Don't use the phone when the media library is UPDATING. It uses alot processing power and your nearly certain to get restart when this is happening
If any one else has anything else they could add, be my guest and go straight on...

My K850 is back after 2 weeks of coma
YES third party software can repair it very easily while SE CENTERS CAN'T !!!!
