I know it's a well known issue, but i couldn't find a single, specified thread for this problem on any forum, inc esato itself. This has just happened to me on the latest firmware. I am under the impression that reflashing it with davinci/others works, but SEUS doesn't - is this right? Is there ANY other way to sort it out?
Also, as an aside, i'm on Orange UK contract, though I debranded my phone. Will they get pissy if I take it in and say "It's broken"? Anyone know if they'll give me a replacement whilst it's being fixed, or if they'll just tell me to go via Sony? Also, if they do sort it out for me, will they cry because I debranded it?
Any bits of lovely know to impart upon me?

When I got that problem I had to flahs it with KK Client. Costed me 8 Euro. If you can return it, go return it and get replacement. They cant check if it was unbranded anyway

I'm in the same boat as you my friend, Blue Ring of Death, Unbranded Dolphin 35 phone..
I'm not sure if they'd get suspicious or not, but I mean.. the phone is screwed up.
Anyone have any ideas on how to Flash the phone for free, using some software that you don';t pay for, I have Firmware files just dunno how to flash without paying stupid prices.

I flashed it with the update server app from the sony ericsson web. it worked fine.

The solution is simply SEUS. Sony Ericsson Update Service. Free.

my k850 also have brod too... it happen to me every single week... and i have to flash my fone every single week... dat is no point for me to setup contact ringtone n pictures cuz i have to flash the fone every week...
dis is pissing me off!!
