Any UK operators sell unlocked these days? I remeber O2 used to do this, but ages since i checked though. I'm looking to take out a new contract and get a k850.

O2 contract phones are unlocked by default, though their pay as you go ones are simlocked, and all other manufacturers simlock their phones too
Not sure if the Carphone Warehouse or someone like that's contract phones are unlocked or not though?

CPW phones are usually just sim - free handsets bundled the a network sim, but not always I usually ask when buying, from my experience O2 post pay are usually O2 branded but unlocked and sometimes Vodafone handsets on corporate accounts.

Vodafones handsets come unlocked. If ur handset happens to be locked they will give u the unlock code free of charge.

Normally CPW contract phones on O2 and Vodafone are sim-free handsets. T-Mobile and Orange from CPW are normally locked and branded.

Orange are locked and you have to wait 3 months before you can pay 20quid to unlock with code! Take that Box-Breakers! But yea, really annoying. Going abroad? Hello Roaming rates!

I have bought Orange pre pay phones from CPW before and they been sim free unlocked. In my experience all phones from CPW are unlocked and O2 contract. Vodafone used to provide unlocked phones many moons ago until they started putting horrible branding on them. Hate Vodafone and Orange branding.
