3rd March 2008, Geneva: Sony Ericsson is at the 78th International Motor Show in Geneva to showcase its in-car User Experience to drivers across Europe. The mobile communications company is putting consumers in the driving seat; they can choose from a variety of solutions that bring convenience and ease of communication on the road. The users of Sony Ericsson phones can select from an extensive portfolio of easy to install car accessories as well as select integrated Bluetooth™ options from car manufacturers. In addition, a one-stop-shop website will allow drivers to customise their journey in a number of exciting ways in any car.

Sony Ericsson’s portfolio of in-car accessories includes hands-free devices that allow users to communicate conveniently when driving. Further, an range of music accessories enable drivers to enjoy favourite tunes from their Sony Ericsson Walkman phone remotely whilst on the open road.

To increase the opportunities for consumers to easily use their phone in their car, Sony Ericsson has built outstanding partnerships with leading car manufacturers such as Saab. Sony Ericsson’s dedicated automotive programme team leverages on the company’s Bluetooth™ expertise to ensure the full compatibility of a large selection of phones and applications. This results in providing consumers with a fully integrated experience with regards to technology and interior car design.

Bringing together all the information that consumers will need, the new website, www.sonyericsson.com/car will be a one-stop-shop for information and online purchase on Sony Ericsson’s suite of “travelling companions”. The online portal offers drivers two virtual roads to drive down experiencing a multitude of in-car applications and features. They can also easily access the list of compatible phones per car manufacturer.

A website dedicated to in-car accessories! I'm in heaven!

Edit: Just checked out the Honda link. You pair the phone by conversation. Yeah, thats right, the car talks to you and you talk back. There are dozens of compatible phones from Z600 to K850. No sign of A2DP though, strictly voice only.
