"The G400 is Samsung's new dual screen clamshell that was announced at the CeBIT. The phone is quite similar to the Samsung 'Soul' with its high gloss metallic finish with a hairline texture. The phone also offers users three different options as far as graphical user interfaces (GUIs) is concerned: GUI skin allows users to personalize the user interface with various options like background images, fonts, and colors. Specs include an internal 2.22-inch TFT LCD display plus a 2.22-inch external full touch screen display. The external touch display lets you use the multimedia features without opening the folder, featuring vibration feedback that responds to touches. Multimedia features include FM radio, music, a built-in camera, and photo album software. All these are accessible via the full touch external display. Phone centric tasks are accessed via the internal display. You can even set wallpaper or other items on the external display. Notifications for SMS/MMS as well as alarm or schedules are also viewable directly on the external display. "

I fail to see how any of those two would be a bad thing.

So you mean that if a manufacturer fails to make a market-hit(even though their design are splendidly awesome) with that form factor they won't be called king? you seems to be basing your thoughts on popularity and not on the how great they had implemented the elements on the form factor to make it more outstanding than any other phones of the same style.

yeah this one, has been very popular here kabayan right? the samsung E-series clamshells are also worth mentioning(the clamshells i loved the most).

EDIT: the first camera phone from Samsung: V200 and the innovative autoflipping T200. T100 the first Samsung with a color display. P400 the first Samsung with rotating screen. Samsung P900/P910/P920 - very cool clamshells with DVB-H TV streaming. aren't those "kick-ass"?

Samsungs were known originaly for making flips primarily. They then moved onto slides with the E800 and D500, and just followed the market trend. Now, 90% of their phones seem to be slides rather than flips. They just moved with the changes in phone design poplarity.

So, they have a lot of previous experience with flips, thats what made them what they are in the handset business.
