the gap is only by 1 second lol....dont really matter if you like the music

Posted by Miss UK
it gets on my ***s Alex though!

it's not so bad if it's recored as 1 track but it's a pain to keep forwarding lmao!

Posted by arien617
Set gapless album in iTunes

Works a treat on Eminem, Encore... especially between tracks 1 & 2 (forgot names)

Posted by >500
couple of my good mates and a cousin all dj..........

will see if they have any demo tapes i can upload

Posted by Daedalus85
It's down to the device wether it plays back without gaps, not the ripping/burning/copying etc.

And gaps are bloody annoying this type of music, any other music is fine, but something thats meant to be a string of songs blended together, you really don't want a gap. Like you wouldn't expect it in a club would you?

I've got a few somewhere Kerry, I used to mix, but I tend to mainly make mixes of just two songs like (like so and so vs whover). When I'm done with song number 5 and 6, and if I get enough interest, I'll post it up here

Been doing it since 2002 I think lol.

C, I've bunged yours on my USB stick to put in the car to have a listen to on the way to work

J, if you like early noughties dance you should enjoy it...

I love it, but it's my handywork!

Posted by Daedalus85
That's what I say about mine lol, I love it, but it's mine Therefore I tend to think if other people don't like it, stick 'em, I like it

Should be interesting, early 00 stuff was some of the best, just about the same age I started buying CD's really lol

Posted by fatreg
CDs!? hmmm I started buying them in about 1994.... although since then have bought CDs that were made in '84

Just listening to what I mixed it's late 90s too, Boccacio Life - The Secret Wish, Cosmic Gate - Exploration Of Space, CRW Feat Veronika - Like A Cat were all late 90s....

also, my mix was done on vinyl, not no CDJs or VirtualDJ...

but Kerry, gimme a list of what kind of tunes you want and I'll whack 'em in VirtualDJ and mix 'em there if of course you like my mixing..... (as I don't have decks atm)

Posted by Coxy
Loved it fatreg, got it on now. Whack some more up!

Posted by fatreg
That's the only mix I have on my mac that I did on vinyl Coxy.. have my 1st ever mix on CD but i'd rather not upload that!! (it's shocking!)

I can by all means get on VirtualDJ/Mixmeister and whack off some mixes if people would like 'em?

Posted by Coxy
Crack 'em out bud! Loved the vinyl mix though gotta say. Was messing with my mates decks last night and it's just so much fun!

Posted by Daedalus85
Had a listen, no hugely my cup of tea, but the actual skill was great, well done

The only one I recognised was Exploration of Space lol. And I did actually start buying CD's back in 95, I just started buying way more in 00 and 01 when I was 14/15.

Vinyl? Blimey I've never ventured into that territory, too expensive, but always been intruiged by it.

I use good old MixMeister 3 (I shall never upgrade!). Been playing with that for mainly my own amusement since about 2001/2002 really.

I'll upload stuff, but only if people actually want to hear it. From a technical perspective it's not as good as fatreg's, but I'd say it's more varied. It's some of the more popular tracks from the last 5 or 6 years I guess.

Then again, if I ever do let anyone else listen to it, I'm prepared for a round of slagging it off, cause I made it for my own enjoyment, didn't have anyone else in mind really lol.

Posted by Ridahz
Why does no1 on this forum like grime or REAL 4x4 tunes, none of that dance/trance crap lol...

Am talkin real niche and real bassline

@AL3X Danny bond is a terrible DJ with all his puffy beats lol

And yessssss im ranting on today lol...

Posted by MWEB
Oh man, Lee Westwood, does he know what he sounds like

Posted by fatreg
yeah the only way to get comfy with vinyl is to mess about with it something rotten, cut 'n' chop mixing is well good if you're starting to mix, or you can if you want count 4/4 over any dance tune and you will notice how the breakdown and gain work

1,2,3,4, 2,2,3,4, 3,2,3,4 ,4,2,3,4

and the next instrument/channel/beat will come in or fade out, it's at that time you want to get the next track going, if you can bass shift from one tune to the next you will near enough have mixing...

NOTE: Do not listen to the 4/4 beat in music if you don't want to be doing it for the rest of your days, ever since I was told about it, I've never ever listened to a dance tune without counting the bars, and while it gets bloody annoying, when your out and about you pay a lot more attention to what the DJ is doing and how good/bad his/her mixing is. Oh, and never trust a DJ that is using CDs, CDJs will do everything for you if you want them to.

Real DJs use vinyl.

What kind of mixes would you lot like? I can lend my hand to most types of mixing, except, Hip-Hop, oh and I'm lacking in unmixed D'n'B so don't be asking for numerous DNB mixes,

I want some decks again but fear I'd never ever get anything done again. If I could, I would make music my life.

Doesn't he play golf?

Isn't DLT more your type of DJ matey?

I love 4x4 Ridahz.. recently got Naughty but Niche - Hanky Panky 8 CD mix.. effing awesome to say the least, You live in Wolvo don'y you? if so, do you listen to Silk City FM? every time I've been to brum it's the only radio station I listen to, a proper speed garage, 4/4, bassline, grime mix.. simply superb.

Posted by fatreg
right!

I've dug out my 1st ever mix on CD, am just listening to it now and ermm yeah, I'll upload it so you can all have a giggle...

just please don't be too harsh on me when you cringe in your seats, the mixing is ermm how can I put it... VERY VERY cut n paste but not in time one iota, but I clearly thought my name was Pete Tong at the time, this was literally straight off, 2nd time at a set of decks, and I know I'm making excuses here but my 1st mix was done on some ol' shitty citronic belt decks, whereas I'd practiced on 1210s MK2, and as we all know, they are the standard that people try and replicate.

so please please don't be harsh!

click here at 20:00 and you will be able to download it

Posted by Daedalus85
Seeing as everyones getting in the spirit, I'm sorely tempted to bung a couple up here....

@fatreg - had a little listen, yeah I can see what you mean, little bit rough, but aren't we all when we start out. I'd be awful, I can't do it live, I spend ages on the PC getting it just right before exporting it, so I guess that makes me a cheat

Posted by Myuueren
I've a mix of 1 hours 13 minutes appox. but I am afraid to post it to net, becuase someone could steal it, name it and use it.

Posted by Daedalus85
Cause it's getting late, I've only uploaded one.

This is from 2003 and is like 2 or 3 smaller ones that I mixed together (mixes within mixes!) and is good if you like pop-dance or just dance, but it's all pretty much stuff that was 'released' in single format.

It's not great, it was 5 years ago, and I'm not that great to begin with, but I like it Although it does get worse near the end, but all mine seem to do that :/

Dae, good mix altho some of the traxx were abit cheesey lol was that done via decks or VDJ?

This message was posted from a 6100

Posted by Daedalus85
All done with MixMeister3, I've never used decks in my life, can't afford to.

Yeah, I know it's cheesy but its meant to be more pop-dance stuff than standard club stuff. Makes for easy listening though I reckon lol

Posted by Miss UK
Ive heard of that program but haven't used it myself Dae,
ive got decks only some NuMark Belts, plus ive got CD Mixer,

my mate has the Technics 1210's I think thats what they are,
he rarely ever uses them now lol

it was a good mix as you say it messes up towards the end
if you do anymore please do some Vocal House or Trance for us,

Pop Cheese might go down ok but,
it int my cuppa tea Lol

Might have to seek up my pal Hardlady and get her to do me some Hardstyle mixes shes a bloomin good DJ

Colz, Silk City Fm hmm lmao!
Speed Garage died out before 2000, but some of it was ok,

I really dislike all the Ponsey Garage crap these kids still listen to lmao!

Posted by Miss UK
Bump Bump need more tunes y'all

Posted by fatreg
I'm on the case..

not sure you will fully enjoy what I'm doing but it's music

old school rave > dnb > house

thinking I might get my trance trousers on..

although don't worry Kerry lots of vocals for you..

I hope you've all got a decent set up as some of the bass contained within is well.. bassy.

here we go...

I make no apologies for what is contained in this mix, it's whatever took my fancy last night/this morning...

Made using Mixmeister 7 and not decks, therefore it's all beat matched so BPMs are a little on the fast side, but from what I've heard of it, It's not bad.. typifies my taste in dance anyway

Baby D - Let Me Be Your Fantasy (Original Mix)
The Shamen - Ebeneezer Goode (Beatmasters Mix)
The Prodigy - Out Of Space
Kadoc - Nighttrain
Some D'n'B track I've yet to work out the name of...
LTJ Bukem - Music
Roni Size - Who Told You
Boris D'Lugosch - Hold Your Head Up High (Julian Jonah's Bad Boy Mix) < One of my all time fave dance tracks...
Groove Armada - Chicago (DJ Dan and Terry Mullan Bongorella Dub)
Basstoy - Runnin'
Santos - Camels
Laurent Garnier - The Man With The Red Face < Another of my fave dance tunes
Bleachin' - Peakin'
Bleachin' - Bleachin'

right click here at 1600 08/03/08

The only transition I'm not happy with is from Roni Size to Boris but I'm working on it..

I would love all feedback, good, bad, indifferent it's all good... (your responses tell me wether or not I should get some decks)

Few things..

1) Not all tracks came from a digital source, so sound on some isn't 100%, vinyl to PC isn't always brill
2) Mixing is very upfront, there's no room for softness in Mixmeister and while I get my head round Ableton or get decks, this will have to do you...

Cheers and happy listening if you download it
