That was quite strong!

Posted by Miss UK
No damage reported as of yet,
so I guess we'll have to wait till later if theres any

Posted by Seanyb2
I was awake late and i felt my bed rock but it was only ever so slight for 6 seconds. It was not that strong in Birmingham nothing like the Dudley one years ago. We are lucky here in uk we dont get them so bad or too big. It made me nervous though so i just made a cup of tea and felt better. Wont sleep now though i know its not going to get any worse.

Yeah felt it quite strongly here in Manchester!! Eeek!

5.3 on the richter scale!!

Are you all fine??
I hope you are.

An earthquake shouldn't seperate us.
You know we love you

Posted by leeboy13
yep, i slept right through it too

Posted by methylated_spirit
Damn I missed it, no sign of it north of the border.

Posted by Sammy_boy
Yep, felt it here in Staffordshire too - well, heard it more than felt it!

Was just dropping off to sleep when I heard everything moving and vibrating - first thought was it was the missus making a racket getting to bed, then remembered she was working a night... I did wonder if it was an earthquake, then dismissed it as being too far fetched. I heard the neighbours moving about and talking (we live in a mid-terraced house) and wondered if it was them making a bit of noise.

I'm glad I caught this 'quake, I usually either sleep through them or don't notice them!

Never felt a thing but everyone mentioned it in work today. Aren't they common in the UK anyway?

Posted by PeterKay

i was out side on the phone talking to my gf. i live near nottigham

i sh!t myself

Earthquakes in this country are nothing compared to Japan America and even Italy or Greece. Yeah it was big for uk but how often do we get them not much thats why there is a odd nervous excitment in the air when it happens here. But the British people keep their humour about it all. Did you all know the most earthquake active zone in the UK is north Wales near Holyhead.

so was it nice having a very powerful dualshock3 for a few seconds?

Posted by LesleyAnn
^^^ i agree!!!

can anyone remember north wales in 1982? 5.5 on the richter... lots of slate roofs damaged by brick chimneys falling through. saw big waves on lake padarn and thought that dinorwig had popped! i think i did what thomas93 did!

I felt that one I was down the road from Dudley (West Bromwich)
that lasted longer then lastnights !

The Dudley earthquake of 2002 i was covering a night shift at The Burlington Hotel in Birmingham where i worked for 10 years. The very old building creaked so much it was very unnerving but we laughed about it afterwards. Hardly any hotel guests said anything they slept through it. Crazy. My manager was on the loo when it happened. He said he sh*t himself(literally). LOL. The next day there was stuff online saying THE BIRMINGHAM EARTHQUAKE APPEAL. Lol so funny that was.

Posted by Miss UK
Birmingham certainley moved back then,
I thought someone was robbing my mums house and my lttle sister woke up from it lmao

Posted by Seanyb2
I believe Scotland had a quake last year it was 3.7 up in Dumfries. I read it in paper but it was so small with no damage it was not on news. Scotland so i read has earthquakes more on the west side which is more sparsley populated so no one feels them they happen in the mountains. I have experienced a quake when on holiday on Greek island of Kefalonia which is near Italy. A large crack opened up on a nearby beach. Scary. Not much damage though.

Posted by thomas93
@ Lesley.

Did you blame it on Communists?
