Well as many people know the original n95 had slider problems and ti was rectified after a while, well i googled "N95 8GB slider" and it returned some similar results about slider issues and i wondered if this has now been rectified?
Also if i was to buy a "brand new" one or almost new one from eBay...and it does have a loose slider, if i take it to my local nokia repair centre will they repair it under warranty? Cos i heard some places dont honour warranty if it was bought from eBay?

donno about the warranty but the slider prob is still there. Thou the slider's much better than the n95. Why dont u wait for n96, hopefully its slider will be better.

yeah its much better than the n95's slider, but its not 100% yet unfortunately!

a bit play at the slider isnt that imo, in case u drop it, it wotn brake that easy

Yup, i got a new one from Voda and after a couple weeks of use it became a bit loose...
My girlfriend got a new one too from voda and thats done exactly the same

yeah mine was tight and i noticed it was much better than my n95 classic at first but it went loose when i was waving it around with the light sabre program and it flew out of my hands and hit the wall doh!

can anyone tell me if the service centre will fix it even it it was bought from ebay
Posted by BobaFett
if its a european one and u have the receipt, it should
Posted by A L 3 X
but you dont get receips when buying from ebay do you
Posted by BobaFett
oh, so u bought it as second hand... well, thats crap then. u need sg official to give in the nokia service to the guys, otherwise they dont even touvch it or u have to pay a lot of money for it... if u have a friend in a mobile shop, ask her/him to write u a receipt, model and imei nr should be shown on the receipt, then nokia accept it

nah i havent bought it yet.....i'm just thinking in advance for if it does have a dodgy slider......and no i dont know someone in a phone shop
only thing though......when i took my n95-1 in....they were only gonna charge me because I had taken it myself....i think if i hadnt they would of honoured the warranty?

dont get what u mean

Unless specifically stated otherwise in the T & C's, then it shouldn't matter if the phone is second hand or indeed has had numerous owners. What is important is that you have the relevent paperwork and are still within the warranty period.

what paperwork would be needed? My paypal receipt?

nope you'll need the original recipt from the original purchase. the only person that will be able to give this to you is the original owner (the person that you bought it off on ebay?).
Posted by >500
you will need the purchase receipt of course!
some sellers will provide that receipt!
just ask them if they have one or not!

right i'll make sure i can egt a receipt before i bid on one

As mentioned previously, they're supposed to have a bit of play to prevent them snapping off the rails if you drop it.

@AL3X,
Miss UK is correct Nokia Service centres don't need any paper work all they do is check the IMEI number to see that it has warranty cover. Only devcies that originated out of the EU don't have UK warranty.
What people are saying about needing a receipt applies to SE Mobiles not Nokia's.

that's why i prefer candy-bar shaped phones. less moving parts, less problems.

i take it nokia have quite a few repair centres in the uk? (not including their service points ) as my e90 went to 'anovo'
Posted by Daedalus85
Anovo is in Norwich and are O2's repair centre. And their not great lol. They do repairs for all phones to do with O2 or authorised distributers of O2 (CPW for example).
The one here in Ipswich is called Redstone Mobile, previously Anglia Telecom.
Have a look on Nokia' site, I think they have a service centre option somewhere.

Anovo deal with Nokia Premium products that's why
Like my 8910i, motaphone wouldn't touch it..

doubt i'll even be getting an 8gb now unless my k850i and ipod sell

The slider isnt perfect but its definetly better than the N95.
