Id go for the N82 simply because i think it looks better.. features are similar cept the n95 has 8gb mem an a larger screen (same res), n82 has a better design imo and also has xenon flash.. it all boils down to what you prefer

8 gb on memory ( ofcourse you can add 6gb or more of memory card to n82)
2.8inch screen

these two reason are good enough for me

you don't need Xenon Flash dude if you are more inclined to taking videos esp. at night. and besides N82 has a smaller, screen, minuscule keypad, worse look. N95 8gb has better overall looks and features.

I like the look of the N82 better... Especially in Black.

WOW it's the first time we had contrasting opinions

anyway it's just a matter of taste

It depends on your preferences, of course, but the main differences are:

N82
- Cheaper (note: an 8GB memory card will add £34 to the price, but you do do get 2GB initially)
- Better camera due to Xenon flash
- Using a memory card means that file transfers can be made significanly faster by utilising an external card reader (both the N82 & N95 8GB use USB 1.1 transfer speeds, making data transfer very slow over the USB cable)

N95-8GB
- Larger screen
- 8GB of memory built-in (but not upgradable)
- Extra external buttons for Play/Pause, FF and RW

Other than the features mentioned above, the phones are absolutely identical.

I personally have the N82, because I value the Xenon flash & noted the extra cost per year for a N95-8GB call plan was quite a bit more than for an N82 call plan. I was also worried about the data transfer speed into a fixed 8GB of memory, which is actually a bit of an issue.

I think the flash on the n82 makes a big difference, I personally love a phone with a proper flash but the N95 8gb looks a lot better and I like the slider.

In terms o9f looks yes the n82 is better but in terms of funvtionality I would recommend the n95 and most users are not dissapointed with it.

I was in a similar position and I bought the n95 8gb without a second thought! It truly is an amazing device, n82 in my opinion doesn't come near!

They are both very similar devices though. Theres just differences like the screen size, Flash, internal memory ect. I guess its a question of what you want most. I'm very dissapointed to see that the N96 won't have a flash and this has made me question should my next phone be the N82 or maybe one of the new SE phones.

Thank you guys! first i will go to a store and try a n95 8gb since i never had one in my hands . I think i will go for the one that fits better in my hands and in my pocket, aswell as the keypad. For what i see both phones are identicaly in software/UI and for the features i will have to chose only between a bigger screen and a xenon flash since i can get 8gb with both phones. It will be a hard choice cause i preffer candybar phones but n82 its not the prettiest thing around. On the other hand n82 is slimmer but n95 is smaller when closed

by the way does anyone knows how is the sound quality on n95 8gb compared to SE walkman phones?

Posted by miguel82
On more question... in n82 it is possible to skip tracks with the music player in background? On n95 i assume that is with the dedicated music buttons right?

I'm currently using a n82, although i do have a n95 8gig..i just find myself using the n82 more at the moment..it is an excellent handset, as is the n95..i don't know..i just like the whole thing alot more than the n95 atm...lol

I was considering both and ended up with the N95-2 8GB. I love slider phones ever since the W850i. And this two way slider is great.

The sounds is WOW. Especially when using one of those BOSE sets. Even the speaker stereo sound is awesome. I actually found it to be clearer, crisper and cleaner on the N95-2 8GB when comparing with N95-3.

I have NOT however tried an N82 in person so can't really compare, but specs and looks-wise I went N95-2.

Thank you! And how about n95 vs w850 sound quality ? who´s the winner? I had a w850i too so i think this will help me

As it should the sound of the N95-2 8GB is better than the W850i. I do like the MEGABASS on the W850 though. Even with the custom equalizer settings the bass wasn't as deep as the SE.

But clarity and quality is better than 850.

If I had to choose betwee N95 8GB and N82, I'd go for N82 for Xenon Flash

Posted by miguel82
I would chose n82 only cause of its xenon flash and candybar form but It is really extremely inconvenient to have to pull the phone out of my pocket, unlock it and open the audio player in order to skip tracks. And since i would use the xenon flash very very less than skip tracks and n95 8gb have dedicated music buttons i thing i will go for it. Also a preffer black phones

I'm going for the N95 8GB, purely because I will be converting films and tv episodes so I can watch them on it, as it has the bigger screen. Should get mine in april.
