Yep and I'm affraid it will soon turn into silver/black instead of being black/black...
For the moment only black X1 is available - even at SE PL they have only one colour - no silver one in PL... It may be connected with "silver version crack" issue. Who knows.

Go to screen etc.
See: clear type is active to turn off/on in vertical mode,
but once I turn it on horizontal the checkbox is inactive!!!
And cleartype does not work.

I can't tell the difference between ClearType being on or off. I have my text size set to medium (3). With such hi-res graphics on the X1, is it even neccessary?

Yeah you can tell a difference when you enable it, but it's really not bad without cleartype though.

by default, the cleartype setting is not available for landscape in WM devices
you can change this behaviour by first enabling cleartype in portrait mode
Start > Settings > System > Screen > ClearType
then using a registry editor locate:-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\ClearTypeSettings
Change the value of OffOnRotation from 1 to 0
soft reset and then you will then be able to enable cleartype when in landscape mode too.

Quick question: I can't seem to get the clock to display a 12 hour clock with AM and PM settings, instead it insist on only displaying the clock in a 24 hour military type setting. I have a X1i, and have dealt with it until now. I'd really like to set the clock as a 12 hr clock with AM and PM settings. I know it's possible because every time I switch to the SE Panel 2 it shows the time in the static image as three something pm... Am I doing something wrong, or not changing it properly? Thanks for any help with changing the clock reading setting to what I want it to read.

@doministry, All my contact are in Microsoft Outlook so I can synch from my PC to any device from the same source, I've not tried copying between any phones.
The registry is where various programs settings and system settings are stored, just like on a PC. A registry editor allows you to change the values in the registry which are not otherwise available in settings within the program or system.
I use the registry editor that comes with Resco Explorer, a great file explorer replacement.
@borisisinvin, as on pc, you change the time format in the regional settings.
i.e. start > settings > system tab > Regional Settings > Time tab

What do you use to sync your Outlook with X1 - any program? Windows Device Center or sth like that?

if you're on XP then you use active sync which you have to download and install, otherwise vista has synch centre built in.
on mac you can use software called "The missing sync"

I've tried that. My X1i just won't display the time in a 12 hour fashion with AM and PM... Is there something that I'm doing specifically wrong?... What setting in the "Time tab" are you using to get the results I desire?...

In the meanwhile. How do I sync my contacts to Outlook 2007 on Vista? Win Mobile Device Center sais "connected" but I don't see any sync progress bar or option to even initiate one. I simply want to transfer my contacts to Outlook.

So,
I had no problem syncing data from P1 to Outlook.
However it doesn't see all of my numbers and that's crap since I have some contacts with like 5 numbers.
Anyway, after uninstalling PC Suite, I installed Microsoft Device Center and configured it to sync Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Notes.
I started sync and it gave an error, and says I have too much folders or whatever and I should delete some of them.
So I want to sync Contacts, than Calendar, than Notes etc.
But HOW do I reset it? Where is the configuration to choose components to sync??
EDIT:
The choice for changing was greyed out, SO I diconnected and connected again,
finally managed to sync contacts.
Whipee!!!
Now will try with Contacts and Notes!

I did the sync.
It apparently synced my Contacts, Notes, Tasks.
However, again gave the error with "too many folders"..
Anyway, seems things are transferred to my X1.
Strangely, Contacts inMedia Panel shows only 1000 contacts, no matter what I do with conacts (like delete two of them).
Did you experience that?
I hope X1 does NOT have any contacts limitation???

Ok. I'm having some minor glitches with BB Connect. I got it to register my pin for a brief moment, get some emails, but then it went back to "pending pin". I am tweaking the ROM info the software but no permanent fix yet

And I have a problem with Hotmail/Windows live.
It nicely synced with my device and I have all my Hotmail accounts in the email folder.
However when I send any mail, it's not in the Sent items and apparantly mails are not sant. But they appear on the sent items on the PC version of WindowsLive!!! Does anybody know the solution?
One more question - when I installed email hotfix, it immediately rebooted my device - is that OK??

Guys I need help, I bought the phone yesterday and certain programs can't be accessed i.e Clock & Alarm in setting, I get an error msg: No program memory avaiable. Tap start>Setting >system tap> Memory, stop programs that did not automaticlly stop, and try again.
Now I go there but I don't see any programs running!

Wow, that's tricky! I check it!

All the sent items are now on my Hotmail Sent items,
but NOTHING comes to a recipient!!!
When I send any mail directly from Hotmail from PC, it comes immediately!
Also, I cannot set my device to send mail from one account, although I could do it easily from the other.
I checked my settings 100 times, did you encounter problems like this??

why doesn't it make sound when it uploads new mails?
(Not push, always manual download)

Anybody checked the SE update service recently? I did last week and it came up as nothing available. Not even an option to 'reflash'.
Do I presume correct that even with this X1, one connects to that update service to get a new update flashed?!?!?

Ok, so here are the questions:
1. Regarding bloody Hotmail and sending emails - did anybody achieve it?
In my case after sync via Windows Live Panel, or just simply writing and sending email doesn't work. It's just crazy, I see the sent emails in the Sent folder and it's even on the PC version of ive, but mails go NOWHERE! Help!
2. Did anybody of you encountered any sending email problems from other accounts!
I have two accounts, one works good, the other does not send, although settings are correct and checked 100 times.
3. All of my accounts always show loading one message but it's not there - so when I have one new email, it loads two emails but I have only one new. When I have no new mails, it loads new message but it's not there (checked in the Outlook!)
Please help, these things drive me crazy!!!
EDIT:
Did you notice also that Opera Mini 4.2 does not support the page layout view in ladscape mode? And it does not show any icons or smileys on forums! Did you see it??

Okay, the Hotmail problem has been resolved. Somehow one of my accounts always puts my hotmail to spam, no matter how many times I put it on Inbox.
So there's still sending mail problem from other accounts (giving a well known error so I'm not a separate case)
However using ProfiMail is resolving this problem somehow.
I still have the above Opera Mini 4.2 problem and would like to know if you guys experience this too?? It's probably just not optimized for devices with landscape/portrait switching in the device.

Hi,
I've noticed that my Windows Live Messenger seems to have duplicated all of my contacts, and I am no longer able to block or unblock them, as I get the error message 'That contact does not exist anymore'.
However, when I log onto my PC and view the contacts they are all as normal (i.e only one set, etc).
Has anyone else had this problem?

Ok I tried, link from SE apparently leads to the same version of OperaMini, and it also says - Opera site - it doesn't recognize the phone.

I always see the "internet pictures blocked" but when I load them I still see nothing.
Do you guys have the same issue?? And can we UNBLOCK picture loading???

Once you click the "internet pictures blocked" link, you have to click it again (it will say something like "Download pictures" after clicking it the first time), then it will download the pictures. I don't know if there is a setting to make it permanently unblock picture loading though.

the problem is after choosing to load the pictures I still don't have them often loaded. Still only placeholders are visible.
It appears again on every emil, just like in Outlook....
