Got new upgrade on O2 pre pay today N73 which was 129.99 but i traded my 6300 in and got 50 quid off which shocked me when they guy scanned it the price came up that much. Also got further 10 quid off as upgrade credit back. So in the end i hardly paid anything for this great phone. Got black edition and software is stable very good. Am suprised too how good sound is for music through supplied headphones. Was going to get K800i as that was only other decent one but dont really like it that much. Camera for me on this Nokia is good enough. Love it.

What is the firmware version? And does O2 brand these phones? And have you tried using the online update? I believe you do have the cables. I just wanted to know if o2 brands these phones with propertiary firmware.

The firmware im not sure which it is will post again about that. The only O2 branding is a theme thats it oh and a games menu in applications thats the way i prefer it to be cant stand other network branding. Have not tried doing update yet too early though no crashes as yet i remember seeing the firmware starting with a 4 and forgot the rest. Only thing i hate is the Nokia logo on front is lob sided lol.

The firmware is 4.0726.2.0.1 something like that i think thats right made in June last year is this lastest firmware or not. Let me know if anyone does. Thanks. Im also not aware of how to do this upgrade thing never tried it. Oh and no there is no delay when downloading files.

no mate dnt think i explained it correctly. when your downloading a large file. they cut it off after 10mins. i therfore can only download files up to 3mb on 2g or 6 or 7mb on 3g. u can of course pause and resume to override it. but not all sites support it

Updating your Firmwares easy check this link to see if there are any updates available by entering your product code
http://europe.nokia.com/link?cid=EDITORIAL_528996
then it will offer you a link to download the Nokia Software then you open it and it tells you everything to do from there!
your phone must be fully charged for this though!

I recently purchased a Nokia N73 ME edition from Phones4u to use with my existing O2 "simply" sim, the guy in the shop said it would be locked and O2 branded but to my surprise its not locked or O2 branded at all, its a proper UK sim free model. Found this phone to be very reliable and the sound quality very good, even when played through the phones speakers.

you seem to have the latest software since mines is dated June 2007 too. I also have the black edition. Only ever experienced the phone ever freezing on two occasions since I have had it for 4 month now. Apart from that its been great. No problems on this phone

Please bear in mind guys, these accidental trade in prices are until O2 notice. The price tickets change far faster, and easier, than our till prices, so yes some may have a larger trade in than stated, but don't count on it forever.
FYI, 6300 is now £59.99 + £10 credit, so £69.99....but then a £20 trade in makes it £49.99 WITH £10 credit! How mental is that?

I don't think freezing will be a problem. I have had phones that freeze a few times while they are near-new, and then never freeze again in their whole lifetime

Yes i myself and the guy serving me in O2 shop were suprised at trade in price though i know things change and misprints happen too. I find everything about this phone amazing apart from a little slow sometimes. Camera is great and the led flash does better in the dark than i expected quite a distance. I also must say that i had far worse experiences with SonyEricsson phones than any one else i never come accoss many problems with Nokia i been lucky. Just downloaded Opera Mini 4 and Google Mail applications and they were so well and on crashes yet.
