K850i contact ringtones and pictures won't work!

I have just received a k850i as an upgrade on my contract, after previously having a k800i.
Like on my old phone, I tried to have different ringtones for the people who call me regularly, as well as some comedy pictures of friends for when they called. This was particularly good for knowing that it was someone calling you that you wished to ignore (work) without having to race around the house to find your phone and look at it.
However, on the k850i I have done the same, but everytime anyone rings me it uses the default ringtone, and no picture shows. If I go into my contacts > edit contact, the picture settings and ringtone settings are still there however.
Any ideas what is wrong?
Or should I just send it back?
Other than this the phone is fine!
