@fatreg
Nice 300SLR! I posted a 300SL on page 1

@Muhummad-Oli
The F1 GTR was the racecar McLaren built for GT racing when customers threatened to do thier own conversions. The F1 LM is a factory modified version of the original, brought up to GTR specs but still street legal.

Built to celebrate the win at Le Mans it is lighter in weight than the original and with 680bhp (versus 627) it has a power to weight ratio by my calculation of 1.77 kg per bhp which betters the Veyrons 1.88 kg per bhp. Only 5 LM's were made.

Gordon Murray wrote a great article on the LM for 'Road and Track'.

yeah I saw carkitter.. prefer the front end on the 300

Posted by arien617
Only a couple of days left 'til the new 500!!!

Posted by jcwhite_uk
Beaulieu motor museum in the new forest near me has the McLaren F1 GTR, that is road legal:

The GTR's were the race versions but some have been adapted by McLaren for road use now.
The LM was the roadcar based on the racecar (these never raced)
The GT was a roadcar with elongated front and rear to match the dowforce of the LM but without the aerodynamic restriction.

Depends which continent you are looking at. Can also be Pontiac.

@ Dicky, sweet ride... You must be proud of it!

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Yeah, a Vauxhall, a Pontiac, probably an Opel or something too... but originally its a Holden

Posted by arien617
Isn't it the VXR8 now?

Posted by jcwhite_uk
The Monaro in the uk has been replaced by the VXR8:

The Monaro was a rebadged Holden HSV Monaro. The VXR8 is a ebadged Holden HSV GTS (if you take the reg plate off the VXR8 it still says HSV on the bumper).

Yer kidding! I'm off with a crowbar and an eye for a VXR8. Hmm. Mebbe not criminal damage but I will take a look see at one point.

Actually HSV is owned by Holden but not the same as Holden.
The Vauxhall Monaro VXR is also the HSV GTO Coupe. In Australia the Monaro name is on Holdens only .
The VXR8 is not a Holden but a E-series HSV Clubsport R8, also sold in the USA as a Pontiac G8.
Holden and HSV no longer make the Monaro/Coupe. They now do a 2 dr sports ute instead.

E-series HSV Maloo
