Only 3/4 weeks till a wee beast like this is mines:

I cannae wait!

Very nice, very nice indeed

I've driven a 2007 Mini Cooper S and it goes like excrement of a soil moving apparatus to say the least! I put my foot down just after a corner onto a straight road and it shot off to the right, too much power for such a little car lol. Visability front and back isn't great though, but fun as hell and very solid

Something insane like 170bhp, rather mental if you ask me for a car that size lol. Put my GTi to shame like anything

cant be arsed to bother with the number plate thing, I'm more concerned about the fact that the day we picked it up (and didn't realise till we got home) that some little twat had keyed the word 'Hi' into the drivers for, about a foot high, a foot across.

Little chavvy shits, now do you see why I hate them so much?

It wasn't there the day before we bought it though :/

but you don't know it was a chav though?

but yeah i get what you mean

well i'm kinda feeling a bit pissed off....noticed a little rust starting to apprear on the inside of the rear arch.....summer time gonna have to smoth it back and repaint....oh joy

Posted by Daedalus85
It was bought from a couple who lived in a row of about 40 terraced town houses, on a hill road tightly packed with cars either side, the whole street looked a little 'dodgy' and it was in the middle of Essex. And there always seemed to be kids nearby from what I gathered. I put it down to them little shits

Posted by A L 3 X
ah right i see.........did you manage to get it out?

Posted by Daedalus85
The "Hi"? No, I haven't bothered. It's deeper than the paint, so polishing and buffing it out hasn't worked.

A guy who came to do my Dads car the folowing day said it'd cost anywhere between £80 and £125 to do it :/

Posted by A L 3 X
if you lived closer i'd have a go at it for ya....or spray ya door....but i don't so...

why not spray yaself on a week when you dont need the car....take all the window seals out and stuff.....rub down to the primer.....prime it, flat back, paint it, flat back, lacquer it, flat back, then polish up

Posted by fatreg
^ cuz that doesn't work!

Posted by A L 3 X
repainting a panel will get rid of it lol......

Posted by fatreg
I know that, I mean you will never get the same colour as the rest of the panels as the car is x years old, been subject to rain, shine etc etc...

unless of course J you wax and polish your car every week?

Posted by A L 3 X
well i wax and polish it a lot and if you get a decent manufacturer of paint it is possible to get a close match

or halfords do one where they only paint/fill + paint the defect and then blend it in

Posted by Daedalus85
lol, you're talking to someone who knows absolutely, completely, F-all when it comes to car maintainance. I can do the 4 main things under the bonet, just about (washer fluid, engine oil, anti freeze and I can check brake fluid) and I can pump up my tyres and thats it! I wouldn't know where the hell to start with the rest of it

Posted by A L 3 X
ah right i see......well if it doesn't bother you too much then fair enough....it would annoy the hell out of me though

Posted by Daedalus85
It did at first, but I just can't justify spending that much money right now on something I've pretty much forgotten about.

Anyway, my Dad's just bought a machine that 'mops' the paint or something, like some industrial thing, so we're going to wash it, clay it then 'mop' it, then it'll look much nicer and all the scratches that aren't too deep will come out and it may just improve the door writing a bit

Just of the phone with the dealership, my nice shiny new car will be ready for collection on tuesday!!!!

I can't wait!

3 weeks early as well

Posted by haynesycop
Lucky you bet you can't wait. I've heard nothing about my Fiat 500, it's been 3 weeks now so hopefully not to much longer.

I looked at the 500 before i decided to break the bank for the mini, gotta say the spec levels on the 500 are amazing, bluetooth, sat nav etc for less than £13000 you can't grumble at that.

Only thing that put me off was the styling, i feel its a more feminine car.

Posted by haynesycop
Yeah it is sweet i can't wait mine is just over £9,000, wanted it in black which was so much and then the leather seats and bluetooth was extra. Don't let Dicky_Snapples hear you say that lol but i know what you mean i'm itching to get mine bought a sat nav for it already, yay. Plus another plus point is that because it is quite retro and a remake it should sustain it's value better than other choices, the mini is nice but i needed to stay under £10k. I look forward to seeing some pictures when you get yours.

Posted by haynesycop
Exactly that is why i wanted it because people will look and go ooooo i ain't seen one of those before, can't be doing with getting a corsa or a clio or something there too common.

Posted by Superluminova

How's your mini doing then? Just rang Fiat being quoted the last week in June talk about cutting it fine.

It was the 14th July so maybe another couple of weeks will be shaved off, fingers crossed.

That'll do over 70 that one pal, malossi and palini everything, 70cc bore etc

You need to do your CBT in order to drive a ped full stop mate, legally anyway.

And insurance is about £400 TPFT

@ Arien of course im having a new exhaust

Not long and you'll have your new toy, mines arrived 3 weeks early! which was a total spanner in the works!

Heres some photos of Marvin (My lady has named it, how sad!):

On Wednesday when i picked Wee Marv (Its Stuck) up:

Then on Friday after getting the roof and mirror caps sprayed:

What do you think? I'm gonna get some bigger alloys and the aero side skirts as soon as possible to finish Wee Marv off.

Super

debadged already Super?

trying to hide the fact it's a mini one?

Posted by Superluminova
Yeah I had to mate, was a factory option and was it free. LOL

Posted by Daedalus85
Hang on, if it was brand new why didn't they spray the roof and mirrors white at the factory? Bit odd isn't it? :/

Posted by Danny_BFC
I believe it can be done cheaper by a third party after production daduelas

Posted by Superluminova
With the mini one you can't get the roof and mirrors white from the factory as thats a cooper only option.

So I asked the dealer how much it would be to spray the parts and was quoted £450. But I found out that a company I had used to respray my Clio was the company that my mini dealership use and to boot they only wanted £235 for the work, just shows you how dealers are a rip off.

Posted by Daedalus85
Fair enough, not a bad price I spose for doing the entire roof and mirrors

Much better than £450 from the dealer though, thats way too much :/

I'm looking to have to have my rear bumper and drivers side door done, and thats going to cost prolly close to £250 for the pair, so I think you got a half decent price there

Ferrari California

Yet another jelly-mould car with nothing unique

Posted by haynesycop
Daihatsu Copen

Lovely and i've seen them for £8k on eBay if i'd have seen this before the Fiat 500 then who knows what i'd be getting, it's so smooth and you've guessed it, retro.

Posted by 5nak3
^^ and if the daihatsu curoe's engine is anything to go by, you can thrash this one all day long and i'll still ask for more.

However, dont think you'll be going anywhere very fast lol, just likes to make a lot of noise

Posted by haynesycop
I know squat about cars it's all about the aesthetics for me, and that is fit as anything!

Posted by Daedalus85
Thank you! I was wondering what their called, I keep seeing them and thinking their cute little Japanese alternatives, lovely cars

Posted by haynesycop
Your welcome, can't believe how cheap they are only £11k brand new, never seen it before until Top Gear the other night, god bless Dave!

Posted by fatreg

Posted by haynesycop
