you're right, too dark, too sharp, and too grainy

Posted by interloper
yup, there are still many things to be improved...

Posted by sonydavid
hello. this is my pics with the 4.65 version with fine mode

Posted by nebraska
mmm seems to be too grainy too, not enough light..

but indoor it is the common result we all have (grainy pics). Let's make a test outdoor?

Posted by sonydavid
ok i install a new driver and here is the results with fine mode i took pics in the same place than before and i took a pic outside 2

Posted by nebraska
it is rather good this time isn't it?

could you post a little video?

Posted by jigonx
this is sample of video recording, indoor at night. very good @20fps.

Posted by jigonx
sorry, try this link:

Posted by nebraska
aaah very good the video quality !!

but just a question, I thought that the T650 could only record in 176x144 (a poor little window in fact...) and I see on your video that your movie is in 430x389 !
is it the new driver which permit this improvement??

Posted by sonydavid
maybe is because when he was uploading the video while converting it 2 flv it make change the resolution:P

Posted by nebraska
maybe... but if it was converted to a larger one it would have "pixelized" a bit don't you think?

Posted by sonydavid
i think so 2. well i dont know what 2 say

Posted by nebraska
maybe he didn't record with a t650, but with a k770 or something else...

because if it's a t650 it's really a good piece of news )

Posted by number1
new driver in first post

well there is one way 2 find out. ask him

Posted by jigonx
hello all,
i'm using K770i (R8AA018) for record the video. actual size is 176x144, but i dunno why, when i upload to "photobucket", it's convert my video to .flv format.
but i'm sure the quality is still same like the original one, as u can see it's still pixellate.

i've tried the final 4.7 version, here is the sample photo. u can compare with my first sample before.
THX NUMBER1!!

outdoor daylight

indoor at night

outdoor, normal quality, all settings default

indoor low light, normal quality, all settings default

indoor low light, "document mode", normal quality

there is still one bug.. when taking pic outdoor where the light condition is very bright, the phone won't save the pic and suddenly back to the desktop. so i must reduce the exposure compensation to -1 or less.
here is the sample pic, exposure reduced to -1. normal quality

all pics taken with K770i (R8AA018 firmware).

Edit:
this is my sample video, all in 3GP 176x144 @25 fps. i upload them in photobucket so my be u will see as .flv format.
no bugs on video mode.

sample 1 actual size 176x144 25fps
http://s244.photobucket.com/a[....]tion=view¤t=MOV01015.flv

sample 2 actual size 176x144 25fps
http://s244.photobucket.com/a[....]tion=view¤t=MOV01003.flv

or u can download my sample video from here :

than you much jigonx for the tests you've made, cool.
So now we can say that this driver is ok !
thank you number1, great job

Posted by X-Plode
jigonx, thanx a lot. U r gonna be laughing but I did managed to get it from 4shared.

Now that I've tested it on my 650, I can definitely say - GREAT!!!

BTW, Number1, your 4.7 is already on many SE-related sites, including foreign ones!

P.S. Hope u won't give it up and we'll see 4.75, 4.8, ..., 6? To beat N95's 5Mpx, what 'bout it?:)

Is there any way the camera driver can be modded to have zoom in 3.2mp or is there any patch for this ?

Posted by X-Plode
Nebraska,

I dunno, R7AA024 and R8BB001 don't seem to have many differences, imho. I've tested on R8, very nice.

K770,
a piece of good idea though digital zoom is in many cases useless feature

Posted by nebraska
thx for the info

it would be cool to have improvements concerning the video, because I still don't understand why a 3Mpix cam make such bad videos...
If you take a samsung d600 for example (2Mp cam) it makes quite good videos, so it is strange

anyway, thx number1 for the improvements you have made

Posted by k770
I've been testing the Number1 4.7 FINAL, K770&T650 camdriver for an hour and i have made about 300 photos. The driver is very good but there is a bug - sometimes the picutre is not saved and the camera turns off.If you have time please fix that.If you can't fix it please only mod the video fps on the original driver (ofcourse Only if you have time).

Posted by interloper
yeap this turning off the camera sometimes is annoying, fix would be nice

Posted by sonydavid
i have notice that when i take videos its dark. is there a way 2 make it brighter? i try with my phone but its allmost nothing changes

Posted by nebraska
I also noticed that sometimes it restarts.. not savong pics..

Posted by nebraska
saving, not 'savong'

but pics have good quality

Is it possible to have a driver which just improves cam to 25fps?

because pic quality still depends on indoo/outdoor conditions..

thx number1

Posted by interloper
I guess that there will be no more fixes, nebraska, because this is the final version..

Posted by number1
i could fix it the cam crashes because the photos are going over there maxium file size limit set by the main firmware, i've set the compression a bit too low in the driver but it's very hard to get the compression right cause i don't have a t650 or k770 to test it.

Posted by nebraska
ok, and do you have an idea of the current compression rate? (1.5:1, 2:1,...?)

Is it possile to increase it a bit more in order not to crash the cam, when you have time nber1

Hello! How can I modify the JPEG quality and take the viewfinder "quicker" in this driver? In the k750's driver I've found them, but in this I can't...

Posted by mccm
number1 sir ,

can you make the zooming at lease 1mp or at 2mp ?

sorry for the request ,thank you .

Posted by number1
i can't write zoom code for this driver.

Posted by interloper
yeaaah, this really suck with the zoom options...

Posted by nebraska
too bad for the zoom..

number1 pls is it possible to write a code to take movies in 320x200 (even if it doesnt improve pic quality)
thx!

It is impossible to make the phone record videos in a higher resolution.

Posted by nebraska
I know that higher resolution is not possible, but is it possible to have movies in 320x240 even if the poor quality is conserved?
A kind of rescaling in fact...

Posted by niverin
Hello Number1,
thank you very much for your camdriver, I will try it soon.
Now a question - would be possible to create similar camdriver to Super Camera Driver for K750i with all of it's features as manual control of focus, ISO, white balance, sharpening etc?
It would be very useful!

But what I especially want is to set these two things to zero value in all situations (scenes):
- noise reduction (to preserve all details in photo...but can you control this via driver?)
- and sharpening (also destroys photo)

Can you please tell me how modify your driver to achieve this (zero noise reduction and sharpening) or can you modify it for me and send me a link to download?

THANK YOU!!!
