Why you say N95 is a waste of money? Even after a year in the market there is nothing from other manufacturers that can even come close to it in specs. Maybe you would not have say it is a waste of money if you have bought the P990, eh?

It is a waste of money compared to N82.

I am used to SE UI.The SQ is the biggest disappointment in N82.

SQ not as good as SE? Thats a dissapointment, as i was going to get n82 if the SQ was as good as SE.

If you're talking about sound quality, then SE is not in the league of the likes of N81, N95, Moto E8.
If you want excessive, terrible quality bass, then SE is the right choice for you with its mega lame bass.

Whatever man, over critising won't help anybody. Both nokia and se have good q sound..

Agree. They are all quite good in that area.
With the possible exception of Samsung which uses B&O's ICE-amplifier.

What? All of them? I mean, all of the high end phones? Or just Serenata and Serene?

One of the reasons why i sold my N95 was due to its sound quality in comparison to my old K800. So i disagree there.
N81, E8 is better, but im talking about the N82 which isnt a music orientated handset. Sound quality will be downgraded in comparison.
So what i was asking was: the sound quality between N82 and K850 (M-R has said K850 has same SQ as K800).

The ICE amp. increases the volume output, giving you 20-30% louder music experience than normal phones. It DOES NOT improve sound quality

^^^ You are talking about B&O, right?
@soane, I would say they are equally good. Personally I do not use MegaBass feature as, IMHO, it makes low's too rich and hi's too low. But that's just me. Manual adjustment of the sound works fine for me.
N82 is better than K850i if you are going to listen music more often without headphones, even the N95, cause positioning of the speakers is on one side of the phone, enabling you to put it flat on the surface, withe side turned to you thus giving more direct sound wave.

Shame on Nokia, the bundled earphones are crap and the loudspeaker is a joke.Nokia does not changed, they are still crap.

Whoa. I used one for bit and I found it quite good. Any luck with the symbian apps? I mean, found anything interesting on the web?
If it disappointed you than I believe K850i would piss you off, at least cause of it's sluggishness..

The sound from N82 is definitely better than K850 using a good pair of headsets. Megabass is just over-rated and sounds unnatural when listening to more sophisicated music (i.e. not toneless deafening screaming hoarse music

Pull yourself togheter. Are SE better? Have you heard the bundled K850i headphones or heard its muffled loudspeaker? Even a semi-deaf person would be able to hear that the N82 loudspeakers is way better, higher and of course it is in STEREO.
The majority of people likes movies made Michael Bay. That does not make them clever or of very high quality. You do know what a "lowest common demeanor" is?

I think you are wrong. On a good set of headphones N82 leaves W810 in the dust. W810 sounds decent only with narrow range loud and bang type music. With more sosphicated music W810 just doesnt cut it. It is like listening to music with half of the orchestra missing.
Needless to say, if you say W810 sound is better, then you most probably like music which will leave you deaf during the later part of your life.

and this
now explain to me what bang type music is..lets say rock? heavy metal? techno etc? you got something against people that like different kinds of music compared lets say your orchestra music hmm? i have no problem with any music as long as it sounds good..and im not saying that you like orchestra music either im just setting a line here..
for stooges - in this thread that dont know what pairing a phone with good to great quality headsets/head phones can do to quality of music and audio/
Also remember bit rates learn to set that shizzle above 192kbps and that will help your quality too.
Oh so this is a music thing now huh? i wonder what shizzle music you listen to?hmm?
As this thread is realy pissing me the fcuk off

How can you listen to AAC in 96 kbps? It sounds terrible! At least encode in 160 kbps AAC (or 128 kbps if you absolutly have no other option) or 192 kbps MP3.
And you cannot discuss sound quality based on 96 kbps AAC. That is absurd.

Relax there - you sound like Vicky Pollard
I think I agree with you, and you are right. Both phones have their ups and downs but I just happen to think the N82 has more ups (and I do own both phones and have been a long time SE fan). But the N82 is under some heavy fire for some very lame accusations that is simply made to justify people’s choice of the K850. Like this whole sound quality thing. The K850 is not "far superior" in this area - they are very much on par but people make it sound like the N82 has bad sound and that is soooo pathetic.

Let me guess, the standard headphones are ok with both phones..
hpm-83(:se: headphones) are -id say-
's best compared to other
ones - i use these - as they do sound great produce great sound and quality, and many of my friends have agreed with me.
but for both phones i suggest using your favourite headphone brand ( i like skull candy and sony) as they will be better -quite possibly better then hpm-83 even-
so we'll leave it at that shall we..
and n82s sounds fine - if you get one that sounds shit (same goes for k850) return it as its shizzle and quite possibly damaged(YOU got jibbed!) so stop all your whining and complaining of the n82.

thats good to hear if YOU hear no difference then thats fine for you.
96kbps aac and 128kbps mp3 are similar..to an extent(encoding and all)
and thats smart what you do -space management-
as long as your happy mate thats what counts.

Very better than K850...

N82 any day. I had a play with one once and the store showed the pictures quality on one of their screens and it was fab. K850i is great for features but its not upto the task its failure for SE that phone. I prefer Nokia anyway and to what you guys were disputing on i also from experience say Nokia phones have better audio too.

As much as I hate to say it - the N82 is a far better performer than the K850i can ever be!
Better optics coupled with a further advanced Colour algorithm make for a more effective shooter.

My K850i and my one week old N82 together:)
I think both phones look very good and personally I dont think the difference between them in looks are that big.
The difference in sharpness of the screens isn't big either, now this N82 is brand new and was preinstalled with latest firmware so I dont know if they have changed it. The K850i might be a tad brighter but the sharpness seems to be about the same.

Hello,
done some testing today on K850i and N82 camera wise.
First I would like to say that I had the K850i for 8 months or so, I know that camera pretty well compared to the N82 camera.
This is MY experience and result with them:
The test I've done today is done in bright daylight/sunny weather.
With both cameras on full auto the K850 pics are a tad sharper then N82 pictures I take but the K850i has some blue tint in them.
If I use landscape mode the N82 pics get as sharp as the K850 pictures. The option hard makes them even sharper but is very dependent on holding the camera still.
Here are the pictures taken with both phones on auto:
N82:
K850i:
N82:
K850i:

N82:

Personally I think the optics in these two phones are able to produce about the same quality in pictures, its all up to the man/woman behind the camera:)
