Hi,which one of them should i buy.I never had a nokia before and i am totally new for Symbian OS.I don't like the design of N82,someone tell me how much difference is in the cam picture quality of n82 and k850.Should i wait for next SE announcement,or get anyone from them.How the SQ of both phones as compared to a W810i(coz i own this).

Hi There! I think you should go for the K850i.
The camera is almost the same on both phones, But i think the K850i gives more colors then the N82, The N82:s Pictures is a bit of pale.
Design: The K850i is much more good looking then N82 if you ask me. And the Mediaplayer on the K850i is one of the best mediaplayer i've seen, it's Nice.
And the sound on the K850i is really good, you can change mega bass and other soundeffects in the Equalizer because it comes whit a walkman software. And the K850i its much easier to navigate then the N82,
So, Go for the K850i

If you really don't need WiFi or GPS, then I see no reason for you to buy the N82. Go for the k850, mate! Besides, rumour has it that the new firmware update will increase the picture quality a lot!

Wll I have had a K850i and N82.....
Im sorry to say that the K850i did not live upto my expectations... I loved the design... but had too many problems with it.... dust, LED problems, keyboard coming loose and so forth...
Since I have had the N82... it has been a great buy... FAST, STABLE and the camera is good, especially in a POINT and SHOOT situation...
I always have had SE phones but currently there is nothing of interest to me...

N82 for sure! You'll have an infinite opportunities with the symbiam! I'm a SE lover, but we got to open our eyes! this N82 is a awesome device! and I don't think the K850 will beat the N82 when coming to take good pictures!

Since I have had the N82 the battery life has been good... I switch of 3G...
It has lasted me for 3 days on average use.... whgich I think is good for a NOKIA....
and the K850i lasted me 3 days an all so am happy with it overall.

I admit I like
phones... However in this case I have to put my hands up and say the N82... does well... the FLASH is more powerful then the K850i...
The overall feel of the N82 is excellent, the build quality is top notch... and this is what I expected from the K850i...
I have had K750i, K800i, K810i and thought they were the best and was not tempted by a NOKIA

i had N82 for 3 days before i send it back.
here is a short review i did some month ago

N82 have the same camera like N95 but with a xenon flash of course..it often take realy good pictures, BUT ive seen quite many low light/cloudy pics who looks blurry.......N82 take often better pics then k850, BUT the D-pad is HORRIBLE..it destroy the whole feeling.
if N82 had the same awesome naving-pad like N81 + 1200mAH (BL-6F) it should be a awesome phone.

Some of the things you have mentioned I would say are more of a personal thing... As when I first saw the N82... was not so keen on it... but since owning and using it I have starting to like it a lot and am very happy with the purchase...
I do agree that when taking pictures you will find that the N82 camera will out perform the K850i and the case being the other way to...
I think its a decision that you have to make and I would suggest that you check both phones and before doing so... then you will hopefully wont be disappointed as in my case im very happy with this purchase.

the D-pad have wrong design....you press wrong buttons all time when you use it...its so many N82-owners who thinks the same....(and no, i have not big fingers)
the screen is NOT super good...its quite DULL..(of course i turned the brightness up to 100%)...N95 have a better screen, thats for sure.
except for this....its realy ok

I like the Keypad and the screen is fine for me and the DPAD has taken slight getting used to and have got better at...
Its like the K850i DPAD that was at first hard to get used to for me and over time I got better with it to.

I am in the exact same dilema!
Want to go for a K850, love the design, really like SE UI especially the new media feature. But i hear of all the problems regarding bugs, dust under lens, loose back cover, etc which puts me off. Not to mention the camera quality is not always decent, altho have seen its potential by K850 user photos and they look decent for my purpose.
Then the N82 looks like it has a good point and shoot camera, so less hassle getting a good shot. Xenon flash looks to be decent and Also quick to take and save pictures, 2 great improvements on the N95 which i hated and resulted in me selling it straight away. Although dont like the design at all, esp those keys and not a huge fan of the nokia UI.
Any suggestions? Maby wait till K850 successor? See what nokia brings to 3gsm?

i send it back...not for the money..because it didnt blow me away.
k850 have 100 times better camera features (N82 camera settings felt realy odd)... + better mediaplayer and sound + MUCH better battery life + much better screen

I had so many build issues with the K850i....
The back would start to get loose and the battery compartment... it was crazy.... and i am very careful with my phones.... So it was annoying...
I even had in once case where the end key was so loose I could take it out...
Not good in my view... Im not saying I hated the K850i... if these problems didnt exist I would have defo kept it....

U should go with N82 eyes closed great pictures,excellent video recording capabilities,wifi,2.4inch screen,tv out,3.5mm jack.No creaks,dust under lens.no flash out of sync.no noisy images.no dark pictures.No shutter open problem.No lagness ,No waiting for months for firmware.No waiting for stability unlike the k850i.It has all the things u ll ever need.u should get the n82 today.And should not wait for which will take months to get announced and months to get released.

I would wait till 3GSM/Mobile World Congress in 1 month and see what SE does. The refreshment to the K850i should be announced.
I would personally take the K850i because it is an SE. Plus Triband HSDPA for all around the world 3G.

Actually i read somewhere that Nokia is releasing black version of N82.Should i wait for it,can i expect 8gb version like n958 gb.Hows the touch sensitive keys of k850,is the media player better than n82.I think N82 has DAC,so it must pwn k850 in terms of sq.If N82 beats k850 in sq,then i will go for it.

There is meant to be additional colours coming out for the N82... However they could be Country dependant... Also it is unlikely that there will be 8gb version of it.

currently nokia is doing fantastic job with firmware updates for N series. looks like now they have really strong test & development teams. now you have bigger chance for better software in N82 and huge amount of tools for symbian. with K850 SE ignored most of users expectations. for now i changed W800 to K800 but my next phone will be without SE logo. one note: SE have fantastic implementation of J2ME platform

first of the silver k850i doesn't even actually exist.I accept N82 doesnt look very beautiful And what about the n95 8gb ,8600luna and 8800(I doubt Se couldn't produce such premium phones,with high quality)All these looks good.

i think that the design is a major thing with a cell phone.
take a look at the first N95 (silver)...its soo damn ugly...the whole design realy stinks. but still thousands of people bought it because it have som many features/functions.
i want/need a phone who is beatilful, good battery life, (because i traveling a lot and need good battery), good screen, good sound and at last good camera..(who k850 soon have in all surroundings

i ahve man useful apps too, if it is, what make my life easier. thats the good at symbian ones, but u do know what i am talking about and u know aswell, how colourful a symbian fone can be if it is. no offence, but this thread is turning now to a se vs nokia, and we have already plenty of them... we all know, that k850 makes good pix and we all know, that a nokia symbian is a brill device when it comes to the nedless features. so imo at a cyber shot fones design also counts more then at a nokia symbian, cos i would never take a symbian fone onyl cos of the cam ( actaully i would never take a fone cos of the cam )

I just dont find the K850 design beautiful or interesting at all. It is just a rectangular block with no variation. It is just plain jane like N82. Even the N82 front facial looks slightly better with its variation (esp the call/hang-up key).
N81 is definitely much better looking with its slider form. Even N95-8G looks less boring than K850.
