Seems like this device upgrades the HBH-DS220 with much welcomed tiny screen, but only appears in grey. I would like it to come in optional colours like black. I pair this the 220 with my W910i and my PC for nightime video viewing and it works a treat...best thing is I can plug in my own nice earphones

Oh, nice, but I question, why couldn't SE just make this in the first place!? Why bother with the DS200 and DS220 which don't think are that readily available! Oh well, the DS200 was a nice device, so this should be better if it has more controls.
Look forward to checking it out when its avail.

The main feature is a2dp with 3.5mm jack so you can use your own headphones ... ds200 was the original silver one, ds220 was released with Walkman phones w910i etc and offers the same features but in black and red. DS205 seems like its a slight update with a slightly larger lcd but its difficult to tell much else

same me ...1month ago i bought the ds220 ,worst remote from sony ever! (and i thought the HPM-82/85 remote was already bad)
only play/stop and volume up/down ... to do that you must keep on pushing the same button,works not so well,"display"is so small that 2 leds will do better job,one for power on/off, one for battery.

Beacuse on the DS200 I dont believe it could do that.

i think i can Spot Some Differences
200 - Clip on style bluetooth headset with a very small LCD screen and a 3.5 mm jack so you can change ur headset, this comes bundled with an earphone regular style
220 - Same as above expect the bundles earphones are not the regular but the in-Ear style ones and it is a different color
205 - Brand New BT headset along the simillar lines as above 2 but with Bigger Screens and Apparently better button placement. This 1 comes with regular style earphones as well.
im sure the next to be released will be a 225 with an in ear style phones .. hehe

whatsucka yes you are able to control the music with DS-205...but I was not amazed of it, but I've had it only for 4 days

I can't say it's bad, but the sound is not as good as I expected that's all...but for most of users it'll be enough
and also the battery indicator is or on my piece was very inaccurate..

imo i'll go for ds-205... as u noe the wire part that goes into the male fastport connector for HPM-70 is very easy to break
i'vs broke 2 HPM-70 and 1 HPM-82 during the 2 yrs i use my w800

Hi candyraver I can share some of my view on the DS-205 as below.
I finally bought one for myself even though it has no caller display.
The first impression of it is the sound quality is really good that it is the same as I am using the wired hand free MPH-90.
But sure you need to change your headphone, coz the free headphone within the package are really bad.
For the phone call quality, it works also very well. The other parties even don’t know I am using BT hand free and the background noises are not so loud.
But when calls come in connect from mobile to the DS-205, it will have around half a sec or less delay.
For the power, I have tried to fully charge it for 8 hrs. It can last for around 2 days with 4-5 hrs of MP3 playing & phone calls. I think the power is OK.
The main problem is that it has no caller display & fast forward on MP3.
Others are really good especially on sound quality playing MP3. It is worth on buying it with such a price.

Is the 220 able to change tracks by HOLDING the +/- buttons like on most phones?
As in you hold the + to perform the 'next track' function and - for the 'previous track' function?
I'm not too bothered about the screen as my recent £40 purchase of HPM90's the screen doesn't work and now the connection is crackly

is there a supply problem with this type of bluetooth? it doesn't appear to be available right now. ds200/220 are generally discontinued. i need one of these 3 right now! the 'official' online store (se-store.co.uk) are actually showing the ds200 (old silver one) for pre-order - what's going on here?
is there anything similar (any make), preferrably not the lanyard type?

Just purchased these along with a Azio(100m) bluetooth usb dongle from newegg. Had to buy Bluesoleil because the Toshiba software that came with the dongle crashed the hell out of my computer. Terrific bluetooth headset I must say. Battery is more than adequate. Headphones that it comes with aren't the best(but not awful) or comfortable IMO. Using the ones that came with my w810i. Sound is terrific and the controls work as they should.
Only drawback is no caller ID.
Also a little keychain loop on the headset would be nice. Thinking of drilling a tiny hole through the clip and putting one on myself..Might be a bad idea we'll see...
