Good luck everybody!

The Montly Esato Camera Phone Shootout
January

Photographic theme of the month
Water

ABOUT

The contest will have its start on the first day of each month and will end on the day before
the last day of the month. There will be no set time for when the contest will start and stop,
so make sure to post in good time. A winner will be announced shortly the day after.

RULES

  • Only photos taken with mobile phones are allowed in this competition - all camera phones are welcome!

  • Only one (1) photo per user per month!

  • Photos must be posted in VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels or 480 x 640 pixels) or SVGA (800 x 600 pixels or 600 x 800 pixels). If you would also like to include the full size photo, please link to the photo.

  • Making use of modded camera drivers is allowed.

  • On-phone editing of the photos is allowed, but no editing on computers! Please do think it through before editing as it can both enhance photos, but also make them worse.

  • All Esato users can take part of this competition with the exception of Mizzle

  • It is recommended and easiest to upload the photos to Esato's Photo-service in order to get both the VGA resolution photo and full size photo. The photos can also be uploaded using Esato's picture attachment feature.

PRIZES

The monthly winner will have the right to name himself the "Camera Phone Shooter of
The Month". There will be no physical prizes, unless a member feels generous and would like to donate
(be aware that you'll be responsible for posting to the winner).

Remember, it's all good fun!

STATE YOUR PHONE

Please remember also to state your phone. This is not just a competition, but
also a way for users to see what the phone cameras are capable of doing.

!! Comments are welcome in this thread, and will help me pick a winner each month !!

@pk: would you donate stuffs?

@mizzle: im a little confused.

Photographic theme of the month: Water

so all my pics must be about water? right? ok.

Posted by Mizzle
Sure, the size is OK

Pretty good night shot for a K750!

Don't really know, just thought that there had to be an exception. Too bad for this Mizzle-guy

@mizzle: im a little confused.

Yep, water only this month. Then it's your own imagination that sets the limit regarding to what you could take pictures of. Btw, only one pic per month

I have many, many photos of water, taken with my Sony Ericsson K750, i-mobile 902 & Sony Ericsson K800 so I really had a hard time deciding which photo to choose. I chose this one because it's kind of mystical.

Inat cuprija (around 500 years old) Stolac http://www.bhtourism.ba/eng/stolac.wbsp , Bosnia & herzegovina http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosnia_and_Herzegovina (taken with i-mobile 902)

The story behind the bridge:
Cuprija refers to a bridge. Inat (rough translation:defiance,spite) is well difficult to translate into English because the symbolism of the word is embedded in the Balkan mentality. The story of Inat cuprija is an interesting one. A bridge craftsman was commissioned to design a bridge in Stolac. The actions of his master displeased him so he designed to use inat and get back at his boss. He designed a bridge with non-symmetrical arches.

What part of ONE PHOTO PER USER PER MONTH some people can't understand??

Anyway, here it's mine, taken with my K810i

and the link to the original on my FLICKR! page:

Ok i have been really busy with work so havent had a chance to see this thread. The original idea behind this thread was to encourage your imagination and to take pic's especially for the theme and monthly contest. Thats why i said your not allowed to use pic's previously shot. They have to be shot for the theme. You should not post a pic you took two years ago. Or even a month ago. It has to be shot for the theme. Thats what i originally said in my other post

Posted by Dicky Snapples
where did you say that? it was Mizzle that started this thread..

Posted by DonJuan
Dude i've been trying to get this going for almost two years. I'll post the link in a second. I'm on my phone now. Using old pic's is no good. It takes more creativity and imagination when you take it for the contest. Ppl are posting pic's of places they have been. This competition is meant to test the photographer not where they are fortunate to visit.

Dicky have a good read through here

oh yeah sorry dude.I remember you posting that actually. it has been a while!

maybe we should start it again,with new pictures only?

Posted by MWEB
Nice idea Don_juan, well implemented by Mizzle , i'm stuck between choosing twixt Oli's, Fatreg's and Tranced's efforts TBH, all good but in different ways.

Posted by NightBlade
OK, so how about putting a "entries start at page 4" note in the main post and we start over?

Posted by MWEB
Oh yeah, and which sad sack is going to read the Exif data (if available) to determine when pics were taken ?, leave it as is IMO.

Good old W900...a fine piece of technology:D

I dont disagree with using photoshop either. A lot of the pics would look so much better with noise reduction.
I think if anyone posts more than one pic they should be automatically disqualified from the monthly competition for that month.
We should def start this one again

Simply press the EDIT button on your post, and remove the one image.

@guys
Regarding those multiple images posted at the top of page 4, I'll just pick out the best this time. Doesn't seem like the guy knows how to edit his posts.

Posted by alexander87
geez...thx donjuan....that was helpful...yes break the rules by using noise reduction but DONT post 2 pics....cool...u should get the award...hands down

i've edited the post Mizzle
