I know that all the 'Brand' stores (Orange, O2, T-mobile, 3G, Vodafone) will only provide unlock after 3 months minimum. Voda and T-mobile make you wait till end of contract apparently. All phones are locked unless you find a Generic handset (usually right at the very release date) which is before the Network has completely developed their own custom firmwares but need to release to stay current. Definately CPW are the leaders in unlocked handsets in UK in terms of range and release dates. I have tried many many times to by-pass this 3 month wait with Orange but there is zero movement.
