hmm...heres what my mom do:
put money (preferably coins) in every corners of your house..
put also money in your bed..now paper bills...
try to put 12 kinds of round fruits in your table
wear polka dots at new years eve...

I fully agree with: belia, since we live in the same country, it's been a tradition to put coins every part of the house before 12 midnight STRIKES on December 31st . . . but for soooo many years now, I always see to it that I put lots of coins in my trouser's pockets (preferrably ALL of them) . . . and I've never been OUT of $$$$ the whole year
