Hi guys, I have one simple question.

Do you know if a W610 (or a K550), can support a 4GB Memory Stick Micro (M2)? I'm planning to buy one next week. Please, answer only if you have a W610/K550 and you have a 4GB M2 working fine.

Thanks in advance

Thanks. Have you tried it yourself?

I know a friend that has one with his w610, And I think that the w610/k550 can support 8gb m2 too, because it has a fast cpu clock, wich means faster data reading.

i have a k550i and i dont hink it does cos i was gonna get one but on the sony erricson website it says it supports up to a 2gb so if u put in a 4gb it will only use 2gb f it if u put in 8gb it will only reconise 2gb of it so its waste of money really so i just brought a 2gb

There has never been an instance of a a MSD Pro or M2 card not working in any phone designed to the MSD Pro or M2 specification. For example K750, the first SE phone with MSD Pro, the white paper said memory supported up to 1GB (because that was the biggest card available at the time). Yet cards all the way up to 8GB have proven to work fine.

You don't have to ask if a 4GB M2 works in an SE phone that has an M2 port. The memory architecture of all SE phones from K750 and later supports up to 32GB in memory expansion. So if you hear of any 64GB cards, then by all means ask if it's compatible

btw, it won't be...

Now SD is different. SD tops out at 2GB, after which your device needs to be SDHC compatible to take larger capacities.

K850 is SDHC compatible, and SDHC architecture goes up to 32GB, so K850 also supports up to 32GB in both it's memory formats.

they say it's not compatible becuase that's all that was available when the phone was released. Since then memory capacities have increased. See my reply above - 4GB will work fine.
