Is possible to make good HDR pics using the java applet, but you guys need to learn how to do it! I will post some landscape examples when I can. The JPEG compression is not so noticeable, the most important thing is the tone mapping work. Also, for the K800 sensibility is better to take 5 pics (-2, -1, 0, 1, 2). You can do an HDR without the applet using these EV values manually and compare the results. But it will be not exactly the same cuz we need to change another parameters that we can't change without a supermode camdriver.

Why do that? Does this produce better color? More life-like or what?

Posted by toyo
For the photo or seen the k850i, it is my brother who is a picture of the other side.

I had the k850i, but I was a little disappointed level photo, as in the auto mode, it sorely lacks sharpness.

k800i 2.44 standard ( auto macro flash -07 )

For me default value makes colors oversaturated, but it's a matter of taste

last words about HDR applicatons in J2ME...

1. jpeg quality cannot be increased. no matter of quality value declared in code all files have 50% which is far from satisfying anyone

2. specification of J2ME camera API (communication with camera) have 2 types of output file formats: JPEG and PNG. the best thing is that PNG is not supported in K800

i really love all so called "standards" and "specifications" because in practice they are useless and full of issues. forget about automatic HDR process in K800

Posted by benj04
great pix! il try this driver soon on my k800i too!!!

thnx to the thread starter!!!

how about a cam driver that could enhance the video taking on the k800i?

k800i owners all agree that this phn is not good with videos..

... and to close HDR@phone subtopic - take a look at HDR process time on Adobe Photoshop - it takes at least over a dozen seconds at my PC. Phone CPU is not made for such intensive processes.

yes it is normal, becaues you take picture with flash. in daylight use RR (or flash off), and in normal to poor light condition use FF.
P.S. don't smoke, you'll kill yourself.

i didn't mean HDR calculation process (there are many great PC tools for this). i was saying about process of taking sequence of N shots with various exposures

i think we now make a discussion about how to improve the driver instead of put a lot of pics in this Topic!!!!!!!

Posted by that-guy
why not use this topic, for posting pics. http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=123818&start=1050 ..
cuz there are way too less pics, than for example in the one "Post your pictures (and videos) taken with your K850i"

I dont know what isw your problem!!!!! We all have right to show pictures, and to show how look driver in some situation!!!

Posted by number1
the photo section is the best place for your pics or use photobucket that way the pics can be viewed full size without esato's watermark.

Posted by obentou
I agree, I really don't see the point of showing tons of pictures.

Sure you have the right, but you are contributing nothing to the thread. So what if your pictures are good? I took a look and said wow, nice pics, but yeah... as number1 pointed out you should place them on a webhost rather than here.

Here the fullsize:

It's not perfectly post-processed, the first try. Tomorrow I will post the same but without HDR applet (taking pics changing EV manually)

Posted by stürmer
my opinion is that ALL of you would be pleased if there will be update to the driver! there is no use for that mass of pics! we now have seen that the driver is very good to this moment.... but is there nothing what we can improve?

today i wanted to make one pic in portait mode and red eye reduction... the picture is to bright... you cant even se somebody... already posted this bug?

(sry for my bad english)
