hi everybody:

i am new with using IrDa, when i download the themes from
the internet, it is always downloaded as zip files, the zip file
includes one XML file and two gif files, i don't know how to
transfer those files as a theme to my T68i? would somebody help
me please, i'll be thankful.

themes have an extension .thm
if no file has that extension in the zip file, then there's no theme at all.

No, a .thm file is basically a .zip file consisting of the images in the theme and a xml file for the colour codes and other tags. Just rename the .zip to a .thm extension and transfer them to your phone.

i stand corrected.
that's something new to me.
thanks for clearin that dude.

If you rename a .thm file to a .zip file and unzip it, you could actually extract the images for the background and desktop as it is and just use the single images.

Well. The .thm files is NOT zip files. It's .tar files. Tar is used by many Unix-type operating to merge several files into one. It does not compress the files like zip do.

Yes, apologies. Laffen is correct that the size is not compressed. Its just possible to "unzip" them, so to speak.

thanx for all of your replays, unfortunately i can't find what's wrong.
maybe because i'm using the IR directly without using any software
to transfer the zip, XML, or the TAR files. for example, i tried to
rename the XML and the ZIP files to .THM but it doesn't seem that
the telephone accepts that. i don't know exactly what to do, so if
someone has an idea of what i'm talking about i would greatly
appreciate it.... thanx again,

I'm using Win 98 and don't use any software for transfer. Just right-click and send to infra-red recepient. Don't unzip the .zip file. Just rename .zip to .thm. In your Windows explorer->tools->folderoptions->view, check the settings to see if the "hide file extensions for known file type is unchecked.

Get your themes from http://freethemes.freewebpages.org/

They are in the .thm file format

"This site has exceeded its limit of 3 Gigabytes of transfer for the month. You may buy extra Gigabytes of transfer by logging in to the user menu and choosing "upgrade"."

That's what I get when I tried to visit FreeThemes
