Hey everyone, new to the forums but I was wondering if anyone had any links/information I could use to add the w710i firmware to my z710i using xs++?

So far I've managed to get hold of xs++ v3.1 and also some w710i firmware. To be exact the firmware is: W710_R1EE001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED49.fbn and
W710_R1EE001_MAIN_GENERIC_RED49.mbn

The log for my phone is this:

00:54:53| Baseband ID: 9900

00:54:53| Firmware Version: R1JC002

but when I try the w710i firmware to add it i get this:

Anyone know where I'm going wrong? I can't seem to find anything specific on this either. I know wotanserver do this, but i dont have a paypal account, and would rather get it done this way because i know it can!

Any help would be welcomed!

you need to use CID52 files, not cid49 (ie. RED49 in the file name)

I thought so, but the problem is I can't seem to get any other files, the site all the searches link to says its 'under construction'. http://www.iprotebe.cz/ to be exact, any idea where I could find the 52 file?

hi, i had the same problem. the firmware you need for your phone is R1JC002 CID52. you can find it on topsony.com. there is a small charge to downolad $2.00 approx. or perhaps try 4shared.com

hi again, just been on 4shared and there are many versions of cid52 r1jcoo2. just find the one thats relevant to your continent and download. hope this has helped

Wow thanks calum, it worked great! I'd almost given up hope of finding the files but it was worth the wait. The w710i interface is so much better, and I didn't even have to pay the higher price or have to spend anything on wotan. Cheers!

Btw if anyone's interested I used the central asia fs but it worked just fine. The w710i cda was built into xs++ anyway. Whole thing took about 5 minutes. If you want to do this, all you need are the fs and main files, xs does the rest for you. I might stick up some pictures later but i think there are already some vids on youtube if you want to take a look.

Thanks!

Does the A2DP function still works ? I've read w710 is not A2DP whereas z710 is

According to gsmarena.com the w710i does have A2DP support, and I used my friends bluetooth headphones the other day, not sure if they were A2DP but they worked fine.

Incidentally my phone is now also unlocked, which is an enexpected bonus.
