it depends on what you want

please don't criticize the work of others mate

Posted by stat5bot
show some appreciation, if number1 & the other cam modders isnt around creating customized cam drivers. we would have to stick with the default camdrivers which sux0rz a lot compared to drivers they made.

I'm getting a K800i for my birthday which is in about 25 days.
I will be getting it for $0 AUD monthly repayments on a $29 AUD per month plan for 24 months, from Three.
I am aware this will have its own firmware customized for the three network in Australia.

1) Can I still mod the camera driver even though this firmware will be slightly modified for the three network?

and

2) What advantages does this driver offer over the original, and will all the modes be modified?

By modes I mean...for example:
Say I select twilight, will it still be the mode I should use in that condition or will it be best used in something completely different to its mode's description...
I hope that made sense xD

Basically what I'm saying is, if I mod the driver straight away before getting used to the original driver will I be confused with all the selections such as different lighting conditions etc., or will they all just be refined versions of what each mode was originally meant to be used for.

Thanks in advance,

EllyB3ar

I say use the original for 2-5 days, then start to mod, and you will see. I saw some other firmware k800 and it took very good pictures with stock camdriver.

I have decided that I will be definitely using XS++ or WotanServer to flash the K800i to the generic firmware, as I plan on buying an 8GB SanDisk M2 and the HPM-75 (mainly because it matches the colour scheme of the phone, and lacks the walkman branding which all the other HPM-XX have) and the three network disables the media player and replaces it with a crapware 3 version of it. I am mainly buying this phone for its combination of excellent camera and good expandable MP3 player, so reflashing is a must.

That way also I will have the latest firmware available so the stock camera driver will be as refined as it can get at that point in time which is necessary to make a final comparison between the two drivers.

I have just seen the ultimate™ 2.44 driver for the K800i and am wondering what the advantages and disadvantages of it are compared to this driver.

Thanks

Hi Number1,

Currently testing your 2.995pecial driver, great as expected

Question:

I've noticed that during FINE picture quality, pictures I have taken in 3MP, 2MP & 1MP are all around 800kb~
But when I choose NORMAL picture quality, it goes back to normal.

Is this done on purpose?
How big a difference in quality NORMAL~FINE?

Thank you

it doesn't it has 1/6 max shutter speed it's impossible to get 1/2 sec on document.

yea it's done on purpose it's to get better compression on 1mp & 2mp pics
1mp compression will be about 98%-100%
2mp compression will be about 96%-98%
bigger file sizes seem to make no difference on 3mp mode,
the fine mode is all my file sizes and settings, normal mode is from standard driver but with 95% compression.

thanks for the reply & thank you for this driver

what faults in Number1 mixed 7.56 driver.... ny bugs in it.... ? i m using currently...

Posted by number1
that 7.56 is a very old driver it's outdated, i recommend updating to my lastest one.

Posted by ja@mx
can you use this driver with a k850, because compare to my old k790 the pics with the k850 suck!

Posted by number1
i could have told you that the k800 takes better pics than the k850 before you brought the phone and wasted your money,
no there is no k850 drivers also there is no way to install drivers on the k850 yet and i will not make drivers for the k850i unless i buy the phone but at the moment i want the c702.

Hmm..difficult because of different weather condition

1) sharp (shadow of fence), bright, good sky stucture
2) more color, sky is grey (ok its rainy), but color noise on wet floor !

don't know what you changed, maybe color
try driver quickchange for getting almost same shutter

Posted by number1
i can't help the british weather lol i was gonna take more pics but it was rain heavily and my camera lens got soaked, and no i havn't changed the colour.

these were also taken with the newer driver a while ago

man is UK beautiful. i like the landscapes and houses.

Posted by milan91
number1 great job for 2.99 5pecial
Great photos with flash, and in low light cond.
Daylight pics are little darker, but its good...

Posted by number1
it's called correct exposure time because i'm fed up of the k800i getting it wrong very rarely is it too dark, a underexposed photo can be saved the details are all still there but with a overexposed photo the details are lost and can't be saved. actually the flash on 2.99.5 are a little off the smear effect that you spotted a while ago is still there but i have found out what it is causing it now and fixed it in the version.

If you come to the UK at the right time, yes. That is the typical landscape you see in the UK. The bad thing is that it's always raining.
