Yeti Prints found near Everest
By Charles Haviland
BBC News, Kathmandu
There have been stories of Yetis in the Himalayas for many years
A US TV presenter says he and his team have found a series of footprints in the Everest region of Nepal resembling descriptions of the mysterious Yeti.

The presenter and his colleagues say they are "very excited", although they are not saying they definitely believe it is the mark of the Yeti.

Josh Gates and his crew work on a series called Destination Truth, which follows reports of fantastic creatures.

The footprints found on Wednesday have renewed Yeti excitement in Nepal.

Mr Gates said they had been searching by torchlight at night-time because, he said, alleged sightings of the yeti had usually taken place at night.

They did not see the so-called abominable snowman himself.

Hmm dunno if a believe about the yeti.

Would be really cool if it was real though. Will be something logical about the footprints

Where's the pics then?

I know, I expect then will be up soon.

I think the yeti is one of those nutty conspiracy theories like nessy and the roswell crash.

Posted by Cycovision
It's actually a modern myth or legend, not a conspiracy theory. Unlike many others, it does have a small amount of sound scientific evidence behind it

Posted by MOBILEPOLICE
whats scientific evidence like the footprints you mean?if so that doesn't account for much scientific evidence.there is much more proper evidence to validate other conspiracy's yet people dismiss those ones so i don't how the yet one can be validated in any way?

Posted by goldenface
Plus why would the shepherds around the base of Everest lie about this, they have been reporting sightings for years and have nothing to gain by doing so.

I am just dying to see these prints though, I'm intrigued.

Posted by MOBILEPOLICE
the yeti just reminds me of the lock ness monster we all know they don't exist.

What makes you think it's a conspiracy? What does anybody stand to gain from the existence or non existence of a creature?

And I am not a conspiracy nut by the way, far from it. I have an interest in subjects such as this and I also have an open mind and a very healthy dose of skepticism!

The footprints do constitute scientific evidence, as do various hair samples that have been found over the years. All kinds of data can be derived from the depth, shape and topography of the prints which seem to match the idea of a large, ape-like mammal.

I'm not saying that the yeti exists, doesn't exist or is a long-standing practical joke, nobody can. I'm just presenting some of the facts...

@MOBILEPOLICE

Ah you can't be 100% sure of that.

Just because you can't see something, doesn't mean its not there.

a bit like ghosts then? i'll grab my ouija board.

Posted by Cycovision
Very like ghosts! Nobody knows, it's highly unlikely but anybody who believes in the scientific method cannot rule out the possibility

That's one of the reasons I find mysteries and the paranormal so fascinating. The vast majority of cases can be explained with current scientific knowledge or can be proven to be a hoax but there are still some things that even the most die-hard detractor cannot just explain away!

Posted by MOBILEPOLICE
well anythings possible but i really don't think there is a such thing as a yeti i really don't.i've always been told flyers saucers from other worlds came to visit us,yet i've seen no scientific evidence to that effect.personaly i think this is all one big "CONSPIRACY" to keep us distracted from whats really going on in this world such as war ect.so no Yeti's flying saucers or nessys.unless someone can actually show me one?

Had you have been around this forum at the time that the likes of KnobFlodd were really pushing the 11/9 thread, you would realise that really isn't true!

who's "knobflobb"?
also: I read that thread about the locking of 911-thread, and I must say...some members acted as if there had been a law that brutally enforced the mandatory reading of the 911-thread, when in fact obviously you could just abstain, couldn't you??? so, strecker has a point! and what kind of a nick is "knobflobb"???

Posted by Cycovision
@nanu

Absolutely.

It 'aint what you do it's the way that you do it (cue Bananarama song )

@Suhlman

What are you getting so wound up about? you wasn't around back then so you won't understand about KnobFlodd and his equally simple sidekick Oneofthose who really was "one of those"!

Personally I did abstain from the 11/9 thread and it's contents didn't bother me neither did Axxxr, it was the trouble it brought to this forum and the same of which unfortunately saw Axxxr leave, which I believe had it not been for Knobflodd and his insignificant other it wouldn't have happened.

But as Leeboy says, that was in the past, a past in which you played no part so lets leave it there!

The yeti i guess is possible so is Bigfoot (Sasquatc).

A while ago no one believed that there was big cats roaming the british countryside but im pretty sure there is!

Oh, gee whizz.. no need to bring up nobflodd in here, or 9/11 for that matter, that's been dealt with.

As people have said, what's been has been, let it go..

new chapter and all that.....

people (and fatreg and nanu),
lighten up!
jfk and 911 were mere examples I used to, eh, exemplify "theories" with that bit more relevance than some inbred mountain-monkey... I didn't mean to confront you with what seems to be some traumatic event in your online-personas' lives....

@nanu,
it seems ,however, that YOU are getting very wound-uppedy about this k/nob-(?)flodd... so please: double-lighten up - it's almost christmas

Posted by Cycovision
Nobody was traumatised. Just disappointed.
