No plans that I've heard of, best bet it try updating it yourself. It's within warranty and Nokia reccommend doing it yourself. From their website

I actually ran the Nokia Updater on the last handset but theres no Firmware updates for it, im just gutted that my exchange handset has the same firmware as the last one, prior to that im not using it ive put it back in the box not even taken the plastics off it.. lmao..

I contacted Nokia as they rsponded pretty quickley advising me to visit my nearest Nokia Centre ive emailed them "Intercity Mobile Communications Birmingham" to ask them if they would do it plus if they could do it for me whilst I wait I fingers crossed..

me taking it to tis place wont fudge up anything will it with Vodafone anyone know? I don't want it being sent off to Vodafone for weeks

cpw have now updated their website with the 6300 white or black for £59.99 pus £10 top up

Posted by Daedalus85
If I were you, I'd change it for something else while you still have time. The home software updater often isn't much different from what they have in the repair centre, version wise, so if you don't have an update, Vodafone certainly won't and I'm doubtful Nokia will. I'd change it for another phone and get your 18-month back rather than 24 month too

Posted by baconnugget
i think a few cpw are nokia service centre in store i took my n95 and they flashed it and called me back the next day, they also had a followup call to see how i like the new firmware got it from orange direct but cpw still flash it for me for free

the o2 shop has them for 79.99

Posted by Miss UK
Heard from my nearest Service centre they have the new firmware for myphone however ive gotta leave the phone 48hrs with them

I can't see why Vodafone wont approve of it yet cos it would simpler to update via Nokia's site instead

Posted by cobra111
That is cheap, i wonder if it is actually Vodafone locked and branded?

Posted by Daedalus85
Prolly, but either way, good price

Posted by p900 lover
how easily can they be unlocked/unbranded?

Posted by masseur
they are DB2020 so expect £30/50 euros to unlock

Posted by Daedalus85
Hmm, kinda makes it a bit expensive then :/

Posted by paul101
yeah and you have the horrible vodafone branding

Posted by masseur
you can debrand for 10 euros on davinci

Posted by Superluminova
whats the cheapest price i can get a w880i on o2??

Posted by fatevdestiny
W880i on o2 - £169.99

Thats what I found

Posted by Daedalus85
It's £179.99 in the O2 shop, BUT, we're doing a £50 trade in too

Posted by Daedalus85
WHEN we get them in, the Nokia 5610 (which I'm going to get, I MUST HAVE ONE!! lol ) will be £179.99, but theres a £50 trade in, so £139.99 with £10 top-up isn't half bad, given it's a 6500 Slide in a tougher plastic case, and slimmer and lighter, not to mention sexier

Posted by Miss UK
I don't think thats worth that price @ Daedulus

Posted by Lunion
http://www.play.com/Mobiles/M[....]onalsale&xmasBT=CB&xmasDT=home

MBS-100 - £27.99

2GB M2 Stick - £13.49

£200 Off the Samsung G800

Take a look, excellent bargains!

Just crushed my dreams a bit there, really want one of these :/

How is it not worth it? 3.2MP auto focus + twin led flash camera WITH VGA 25FPS video, easy flick switching of music player, 1GB card, slide design, very cool slide design at that, large 16million colour QVGA screen.

It's basically a 6500 slide with a less heavy case for cheap. I can get it for £121.99 hopefully now, so is that really so bad, for what it is?

Posted by Miss UK
for under £200 you could get something adequatley better but for £129.99 I suppose its not a bad price

the 5300 is nice why don't you get that

G600 £149.99
has the K850i come down too then?

Posted by Daedalus85
Hmm, I spose the G600 is a better phone, especially at that price....

Already got a 5300, hence why I want the 5610

I dunno, I think I've decided it's the Nokia S40 software I like. It's gotten better with age, and version 5 seems better than ever. It's the little things. Like when you get a missed call it now tells you the name of the person, time and date they called and even their picture caller ID rather than just saying "1 missed call", so you can see who it was without pushing any buttons. Same for a text.

It's little things like that why I feel I'd be able to live with it better, and it's either the 5610 or the 5310 for me really, both nice though.

Had a play with the N82 and E51 yesterday, spent ages drooling over them, but I really REALLY like the N82, it's surprisingly nippy and beats the crap out of the N95

Posted by PeterKay
Any more Crimbo Mobile deals?

Posted by Miss UK
Daedulus, seems your getting into Nokia phones
I wanted a 5300 a few months ago however I bought the N80 which is better

then after taking a contract out with Vodafone I got a E65 free so ive got 2 good phones which need to last me till May 2009
