Went back to the Mall this evening - Matrix Reloaded just hit the screen here in Romania and besides seeing the movie I also wanted to capitalize on the large number of Nokia owners that were present. First victim was a guy that named his phone "Zeus". I was quick to inform him that "Titans were here first", then I kindly suggested he changed his phone for a SE. Then I renamed my phone "Big Brother" (which currently is a huge success in Romania) and sent a lot of messages with "Big Brother is watching you" to other phones. Trouble is that the Mall was so crowded because of the Matrix launch that I was unable to identify the victims.
There are also some issues that I would like to draw your attention to. Since Nokia phones don't have the same name structure as our phones (i.e. first name/last name - they only have one name), sometimes they might receive the vcard reversed (insted of "The Matrix has you, they might receive "you The Matrix has"), irrespective of the settings in our phones (i.e. sort by first name/last name). Anyone aware of this? The right thing to do apparently is to start writing from Last name and then continue to First name when composing the vcard. I verified this on a friend's Nokia using IR (unfortunately he didn't have BT so I don't know if BT transmissions are handled the same way - I'll try to find a BT enabled Nokia and see if it's the same). Another issue relates to my phone - I'm using my trusty T39m (R4A008). My rate of success is a little low. Is this because of the phone/software (might also be due to the fact that in the Mall the people are constantly moving)? Another problem is that most of 7650 owners here have disabled BT. I was only a meter away from them and I could easily see their huge, brick-like phones and still the search was unsuccessful. Have they awaken from their moronic sleep?! Sure hope not.

Oh yes, Bluetooth is an very very great thing. I hope the mobiletelephone firms make mobiles with an better sending area in future. 100m is perfect 500m or more is better too.
I need an Bluetooth afterburner. Where can i buy it? This is an device on CB Devices that can make stronger the sending capacity.

yep, after reading you guys' laughs with bluejacking, I had to try it myself...
Yesterday I was in a beer tent at a festival and of course all the guys decide to show off their phones (mine was of course the coolest
Found two 7650's: 'Neil's Phone' and 'Ferret'. Well, first I sent Neil a Contact, (Buy SonyEricsson) He laughed so I then knew who it was. I went over and said hi, you must be Neil
Then I sent the same to Ferret. I spotted where he was when he looked at his phone, and I sidled over and stood behind the person standing behind him so I could watch what was happening. I sent him the same BuySonyEricsson contact four times, followed by a 'watching you' contact. This must have freaked him out, as he started typing 'f*** off you ****' at which point I walked over, looked over his shoulder and said "nice phone, does it do bluetooth?". He laughed too and didn't send me the contact
Amazing how many 7650's have this switched on!! BT eats your battery too, so it's silly to have it switched on all the time....
Spent the rest of the evening bt'ing videos and pictures to these guys in the beer tent
Helen.

was at another restaurant (Megagrill, PJ). saw two fellas playing with their 7650's.
good part: i had 2 7650's in range to be bluejacked and my other friend has a t68i too
bad part: didn't know those phones were bluetooth enabled, didn't even know they are 7650's till I ran search for a list of bluetooth enabled nokia phones
maybe i should print out pictures of bt nokia phones and carry it around next time...

my first bluejacking experience today!!!
i went to town and was hanging about various phone shops trying to bluejack somebody, but got nothing. then i remembered that you guys got some good results from places like starbucks, so i sat outside with my mate. i found somebody ('Unknown') and took a lucky guess that it was a Nokia. i proceeded to sending it. in the name field i had 'Nokias suck! Buy SonyEricsson!' and in the email field i had 'You've_just_been_bluejacked_by_jellyellie!"
hehe. i suddenly saw this guy take out his phone and show it to his wife (i guess she was his wife). they both sat there staring at his phone and talking for about 10 minutes. they kept looking around too. then my friend pointed out that he had the word 'golf' written on his polo shirt. i sent him another contact with 'Do you play golf?' and he was extremely frightened by this
eventually they left and my friend spotted them speaking to a security guard. i reckon they showed him the contacts i had sent him because he had his phone out.
his wife then took her phone out too (a 6310i as well) and they stood in this walkway looking at each others phones for, well, it must have been about 20 minutes.
i send the man another message again, this time saying 'Have you worked it out yet?' I heard his phone bleep and he showed it to his wife. He was smiling. Then he walked up and down the corridor looking for the bluejacker. hehe. he never suspected me, after all, who would suspect a 13 year old?
we decided we'd leave it at that so we wondered round town looking for some more victims. but you;d never guess what happened next... we were walking down the street and my friend suddenly grabs my shoulder & pushes me around.

I have a question about SMan: can you also set a frequency for the proximity sweep, for example that it automatically checks for new devices every minute?
Posted by ajack
@doubleduh:
It has some control in there... user configurable controls...

this is my second successfull Bjack story.
i had to go down to work to find out what times i am working so on the way back i take myself to mcdonalds for summat to eat before going out tonite(only goin to stratford for a dwink)
so im sitting in mcdonalds and its full of execs(very smart office like people) and 1 is sitting on the table next to me. so i think lets see what i can pick up on my radar so i do a scan and only find 1 phone "nick"
so i wonder who nick is so try to print an SMS to his phone (it failed)
so i send the clasic contact
The devil
666
thedevil@hell.com
i hear the nokia beeps and its nto the guy on the table next to me its the guy in the corner with his wife/g/f so trying not to look round i carry on eating my fries and start to compose another contact this time it was the typical nokia sux buy SE
now for my third contact i send
nic you have been bluejacked
turn off bluetooth
then i left the restorant and as im riding my bike off i look back inot the window and he gives me 1 hell of an evil. oh well it was fun
i still ent seen the matrix

Lol, had my first bluejack today: i was on the bus, going home, and i did a "discover" on my T68i. i found someone whose device was called "ALICIA". My fren go so excited, grabbed my phone, and sent my contact hoping for a reply. What happened next was TOTAL CRAP. i got an sms saying **** off. How lady-like. And one more thing, the best place to bluejack HAS be convention halls. How about the CeBit 2004? =D Imagine all the devices u can find. i made a search @ suntec convention hall in singapore, and found, guess wad, devices. 1 p800, 1 ipaq, 2 t68is and 3 7650s. Sure had a lotta "fun".
Posted by wozza
not that i'm calling you a liar but.. a) u say this was your first day.. but then found no less than 7 phones, after your first 'jack on the bus? lucky! b) some of these were t68is? lucky again! i mean.. what're the chances of you finding *2* of them in a scan before they both timed out.. as we you would know, owning one yourself, they only remain discovable for 3 minutes.. c) lucky with the p800 and ipaq too! they arent discoverable as per default iirc. sorry if im wrong liek.. ~woz

you shouldn't be pairing your phone to your victims' phones.
what you do is try to send them contacts/pictures and hope they accept your sends

Its not easy bluejacking using a p800, people look at me when i pull it out of my pocket. Of the 25 noisy Nokia users i have bluejacked, 21 were done successfully with a t68. Anyway, why are Nokia users so noisy? Why do they have to talk so loud over their 7650s and 3650s? Most of them use loud message alerts too. Very annoying if you are inside a moviehouse or in a quiet restaurant.
Posted by ajack
@g17:
If you set a sweep, they won't even know you did it.
Assume you have a P800 of coz...

guys... why do you post direct links to SMan... there is a reason for the menus, etc... please have some respect! and before you guys start asking for help on the menus... RTFM... where... you would know if you visited my site...

How do you do the Bluetooth trick? When i put my bluetooth on, nothing happens even when i´m close to my friends cellphone that had his bluetooth on.
Posted by Sir-SonyEricsson-man
bluetooth trick?? is that something new??
Posted by callum
@sly_cooper after u turn bluetooth on to detect another bluetooth device u choose detect in the bluetooth menu then it will scan for other bluetooth devices then if it succesfully found one it will show a list of bluetooth things near u (10 meters)

Had a laugh today... I started BT on my dads T68i and then went outside the car talking to my sis... and so I did a BJ on my dads phone with Sman v1.1. I just wrote Lordmike 0wnz y0..
He got a stunned/shocked when he saw the pohone and looked at me closely and saw I was holding my phone with flip open. He just smiled!
Darn.. caught in the act
Will see if I can use this at work now though *grins*. Back on tuesday!

oh well got a few.. and a few more failures...... hmm did anyone bluejack a 6650 before me?
Posted by droll
if you don't see a device name it probably means the user didn't assign one.
you can swtich off Resolve Name and see the raw bluetooth address of the device though. that should be unique in the whole world (like a MAC address). so if u see 2 people having the same address in their sman log .........
sometimes u can get a successful bluejack but the 2nd time around on the same device will result in a connect failure as the victim has not yet accepted the vcard (well, you know.....they're sometimes a little slow to react due to the shock..lol).

When ever I try setting the message on SMan 1.1 - SMan bombs out...
I get "Program closed" erorr, Reason Code: USER, Reason number: 11...
Is there any other way, to change the Bluejack messages?!
