This thread is jokes.
After reading it, I searched for Bluetooth-enabled phones on the London Metro with my T68i a few times, and sent them some weird and nasty pictures, along with messages saying "You will be f**ked by ketamine". The looks on the phone users' faces were quite funny.
But what I don't understand at all is all the ridiculous childish nonsense about everyone sending messages like "Nokia Sucks!", "Sony Ericsson Rules!" or "Get a real phone!!!" etc etc.
Who gives a toss what phone other people have? What, do you lot feel insecure for owning a Sony Ericsson? Jealous of the 7650's built-in camera and superior processing power? If you have the chance to send someone an anonymous message without their consent, why on earth would you think of sending such sad messages as "BUY SONY ERICSSON!!!"???
I love my T68i, but I don't have a sad fetish for Sony Ericsson products. Nokia phones, whilst lacking in some areas, are solid products, especially the 7650. Why all the hostility towards them? People buy whatever phones they like.
All this silly immature childish "bluejacking" is quite sad. At least use your imagination and sense of humour to send stuff which will make people laugh/feel confused/disgusted, instead of wondering what kind of sad zealot sent them a "n0kia SUXXX!!!!!1111" business card.

@ all:
I personally agree with all of those who would rather not have a Bjack site. Having said this, I live in a place where I doubt there are many people who know about the existence of this forum and therefore would not be informed on Bjacking. I don't think it is good to make public though. I like the idea of it being "our little secret". If it did become general practice it would not be as fun......

Due to popular demand, there will be NO bluejacking.tk. At least, I won't create one.
Although I'm yet to do my first "hunt", I find the idea of bluejacking very entertaining. A dedicated site and msg board was the first thing that came to my mind, but since most people around here (which, again, according to the majority, are the people who do most of the blujacking) don't want such a site, I'll delete the redirection. nic.tk should release the domain within 90 days for anyone who would like to have it.

Yo all, it has to be said, bluejackin is possibly the best thing since sliced bread, yes, its true, You've started a monster ajack, and good on ya.
Off into town, catch as many brickheads as possible off gaurd, as you've said the looks on their faces are a site for sore eyes, so im looking forward to it:D

@all:
everybody's gotta do wot everybody's gotta do... if it's a site, do it... don't give me dat secret shit though... the site builder (forgot name - sorry!) has a point - bluejackin is allready public... dat's tha hole point of it... sharing the stories is sometimes more fun that blujackin alltogether... go for it if u must.
Posted by the_godfather
@Synax - I agree, making a Bluejacking site would turn the fun of BJ'ing into a kind of silliness....Although Bluejackin is actually great making a site i think would be taking it too far and also synax, your right sharing the stories has to be the best bit!

Cyanx, that's why we are here! There's lots of ways to share stories....
I agree with you...in the sense that if someone wants to create a BJ site they can do what they want! Furthermore, if there was one I'd probably happily visit it even though I don't see the need for one....and I don't seem to be the only one who doesn't....

@cyanx7
Do you know "Geocaching"?
Short version of a long story (as far as I know it): someone started geocaching.com to support the idea/sport/hobby of geocaching. I don't know whether he coined the term. However, there's been some disagreement lately about the way he runs this site, accepts (or doesn' accept) help or proposals or just tries to make this site "his" site. IMHO, this is not how a site about a new idea/sport/hobby should be run.
I would have liked to spend some time working on a dedicated site to support bluejacking, because I really like the idea. What - sorry for being blunt - pisses me off, is that some people treat the whole idea as some kind of secret.
I found this thread via a German board, which handles more than one brand of mobile phones. SE (still being my personal favourite, although I own more than one Nokia) is only one of them. And the link is not even in the Nokia or SE section, it's in the PDA section. So much for secrecy.
I see bjacking as a way to have fun with inexperienced people, who don't know the features of their expensive phones. Let them find out about bjacking. Let them disable their BT recognition. I say that anyone who is "smart" enough to avoid being bjacked has done his homework and should enjoy his peace. As long as someone doesn't know or doesn't care, the game is open.
If the people I'd like to support (i.e. the people who came up with the idea in the first place) don't want my support, so be it. The most important opinion to me is Ajack's. He wrote that he's neither really pro nor really con, but that he would rather not see a dedicated site.

Of course! My mistake.... i meant "if".....
The pure essence of it is having fun, as already mentioned various times on this thread, so let's enjoy it, share our stories and what will be, will be!

Bloody hell...
Websites, user guides, long-winded debates on the ethics of bluejacking??!?
For f**k's sake people, all you're doing is sending messages to people!
Of course it's highly amusing and rewarding, but come on, YOU'RE ONLY SENDING MESSAGES.
I think some of you on here should lighten up, stop sending "Nokia SUCKS!!!" messages, get a sense of humour and start with the proper terrorisation. Shithappens has got the right idea... try to confuse, amuse and just plain have jokes with the person that's come up on your screen after a discover. Not send sad messages telling them that their phone is shit.
Oh well, time for another line of ketamine...

@fannypad - everyone is having fun thats what its about. You should lighten up and put your dummy back in LOL

@fannypad
Ethics and debates ain't my topic
People set up websites about all kinds of stuff. Setting up websites is as much a hobby as bluejacking. Or not, depending on your definition of a hobby.
I remember seeing some site about Walmart receipts, where visitors would comment on the purchases. Where's the sense in that?

@fannypad:
it's like this: when u're "serious" about having fun... the whole process of fun must be dessicated properly. we must discuss it like it's a national issue, dude... but (hey!) - don't get me wrong - i'm sure there's a lot of important debatable questions for u in any other topic right around here somewhere, friend!!!!!
here's one 4 u: i heard London bridge is falling down... wanna check that out and then get back to me on the issue?
(just pulling u're leg - don't take it seriously, ok?

Like your idea of free drink etc...
Since i have had most luck in the mobile phone shops how about a message saying 'free years insurance with any mobile' or 'buy one, get one free - any phone' or even '£300 cash back on any phone' that should cause a bit of fun/confusion!

Thanks
However, that msg board is a ready-to-install version. I'll check whether there's a complete translation available somewhere.
If there's gonna be a bjacking website (FAQ, Tutorial, pics, etc.), it's either 100% English or bi-langual German/English.

Oh dear... that really was quite spectacularly lame.
Anyway, on the bluejacking front, the other day before going out, I recorded a new answering machine message on my spare SIM card.
Then, I renamed my T68i to "UK Telecoms Authority" and created a new SMS which read:
"Your handset has been logged in our national database as being involved in fraudulent activity. Please call below number for further information. If no contact is made within 24 hours, your handset will be blacklisted immediately."
I ended the message with a contact number for my spare SIM card, which was obviously set to answerphone. Now, the answerphone message which I recorded said in an official voice: "Welcome to the UK Telecoms Authority fraud division. The phone in your posession has been linked to fraudulent activity and details have been passed on to the Police, who will trace your location and take relevant action. If you feel this information is incorrect, please dial Crimestoppers on BLAH BLAH quoting reference number 1337_455"
Yeah, I know it's long-winded, but f**k me did it work a treat.
I was sat in a small cafe with a few mates, and explained the trick to them. It didn't take long for me to find a few targets.
The first couple of messages were sent, but I didn't see anyone receive them. Then after another one or two tries, my mate pointed me in the direction of a bloke in a suit holding a 6310 looking very distressed, then proceeding to make a phone call. We could all hear what he was saying as it was a small cafe, and he went mad at the Crimestoppers operator after dictating the "reference number" I gave him and obviously being told that nobody knew what the f**k he was talking about.
He then stormed out of the cafe with an evil look on his face, and we were all in stitches on the floor.
It was pure hilarity... the dude was totally mindfucked by the whole thing.
Excellent fun.

btw, your last post was a real piece of work!!! now that's wat i call class....keep on
Posted by fannypad
Shithappens, sorry if that's how it came across, but I didn't actually flame any of your "buddies" or further any of my previous posts. I was just making a factual statement about someone's really pathetic excuse for a joke... which even you have to admit was very lame. If I make shit jokes, I expect to be told about it too.
Anyway, I'm glad you liked my little bluejacking scenario, I'll continue to do it to as many people as possible.
What I was thinking of doing is replacing the number for Crimestoppers with the number of a mate's phone (who's with me at the time obviously), so that I can continue the wind-up in person. Also, this way if the person being terrorised decides to retaliate, he'll have my mate's number to call, not mine
Oh, and next time I find a discoverable phone, I'll be sure to send a "N0KIA RULEZZZ, ERIKSON SUXXZ DICKS!!!!!1111" message.

Evolution of the "free drinks" joke:
Yesterday I went to one of those huge media stores and tried the trick saying that a free cd would be given to those who had received the message and showed up at one of the cashiers.......
I thought it would sounds very credible in a media store!!!!
The only thing is that even though I got the message through to a poor 6310i owner....I didn't get to see him/her in action 'cause I didn't manage to spot my victim.....shame.....
