Where can i get bt explorer

Posted by Issa88
I got it via GPRS. Just search for it in Google..

Posted by alrodlop35
OK so I went out for lunch today and I did a random BT search. Found a W300i and I immediately looked around. Saw a dude sitting two tables away. Typical W300 owner, I thought. Sent him Hello and a winking smiley. The guy just started laughing. Sent the same thing to a lady with a Z520, she just wasn't bothered.

Posted by RaseR
Just a simple trick, next time you trying to bluejack someone change your own bt name to theirs. You wont believe how many ppl think their own phone is sending something to themselves

Hi I am a real noob (whatever the word is) to this forum and to using bluetooth (well i've used it to send music and pictures) but this bluejacking sounds quite funny but what I wanted to know is, can someone get your mobile number when you send them a message (contact) through bluetooth?

sorry if this is a stupid question?

Posted by SE4NICK

no, unless of course you send it as a contact. But to bluejack someone or send them a file, no it doesn't show your number. Only your bluetooth name and only then if you haven't hidden your phone.

you create a card in the contacts's option saying whatever you want, then you send it via bt.

Huh? If i make a contact card saying Buy Ericsson? and then send it over, why would the guy get amazed by reading "Buy Ericsson"?

Posted by deluded
Haha... It really depends on who's reading it, @rockerZ. I'd say if the person is ignorant enough to leave his/her phone's bluetooth on and in visible mode, he/she would probably be just as likely to be amazed by what they see.

Posted by tranced
@deluded: amen!

Posted by ThaDemon
im gonna look for a nice chick in the train or something and if i see what kind of phone she has ill search for it in bluetooth and leave my phonenumber behind

Posted by max_wedge
I got this via bluetooth the other day:

Posted by tranced
you lucky! how come i've never been bjacked in that way?

Posted by deluded
Haha... Neither have I!

Posted by max_wedge
got someone with a smiley today. then saw a guy look at his phone then look around

Posted by deluded
Well, I've done stuff like that a number of times, but have never been able to catch anyone looking around, what a pity.

it was a nice surprise. Normally I just get random images sent by viruses on symbian phones!

i knew with the send-contact as a vcard to someone

Posted by gaming_guy
i sent business cards to a k750i, a w880i (2 times, and it was a black and orange one), a k800i, a k510i, a photosmart printer (dont know if it printed it out) and a w810i

Posted by Issa88
I get that nokia 6600 virus very often. It's really a nuisance.

Once I got it 4m a guy who was actually thinkn of infecting my phone ( which sadly it couldn't do). So I just accepted it and changed my bluetooth name to my Carriers name. and renamed the file " Special offers from - Carriers name - " and Guess what he accepted it and got infected in return.

of course you can. it is just sending a picture to some BT enabled phone.

Posted by max_wedge
yep, and so far on a K750 it's perfectly safe to accept images. However if you get a jar file ie: a game, it should be rejected. While there aren't any java apps I know of that can cause problems on your phone, it is possible to create java apps that can delete contacts, pda items etc.

but the receiving person still have to comfirm the item.
with vcard/bluejack they don't have to

Posted by max_wedge
depends on the phone. Most SE won't receive vcard without you pressing "accept business card" (or some similar message)

Posted by tranced
If i'm not mistaken, notes are accepted without any prompt.

Posted by deluded
I've successfully sent many vcards to SE phones without the owner accepting. That's also why I usually send them to SE phones instead of wasting my time on others

Posted by HiHelloAhhh
that sounds fun..gonna try it during lecture tmrw

I was thinking more from a security point of view there is no way for them to contaminate the phone with unwanted contacts. You can send it but it won't get stored in their phone unless they accept it (it says "add to contacts?")

But it does display the contact name so of course it is a bluejack.

Posted by deluded
Ah... I see what you mean, max. I suppose these days there are hardly any phones that actually processes the received information without user intervention unless they have been paired previously? When I try sending vcards to other brands, the recipient has to allow the transfer before I can even send it. Whereas with SE phones, I've tried on many occasions and they were usually successful, without having to wait for the recipient to accept or anything. You're right about the vcard not actually being stored on the recipient's phone, max. But like you said, it's still a bluejack and I'm just doing it for some harmless fun.

Posted by HiHelloAhhh
it'd be awesome if someone manages to hit the jackpot with a nice girl. wouldnt want a weight lifter to stand up and start looking around for the sender...

Posted by makna
Hi i am sorry but i've been trying to do it and i can't every time i do it it discover diffrent phones but it ask me for pass code for all the phones i have SE p990i am i doing it wrong.

Posted by tranced
@makna: hi and welcome. You just have to send a file/card to the other person.

Posted by gaming_guy
i was in a arcade, watching a demo on one of those racing games. a bloke was sitting in the chair with a nokia 6288 in his hand, so out comes my k750i and i selected the 'hello' contact i created. i dont usually try nokias, as they dont auto accept vcards. so i sent it through to the phone, and it comes up with the prompt. he accepted it and i bugg3red off quick

thanks tranced for welcoming me and thanks for the reply i tried again today with one of my coworker he use to have a bluetooth head set but he sold it and i guess he left the bluetooth on his phone on cuse i ndid the search and it came up his sidekick and and i tried to connect but it asked me again for the pass code and i tried to send a file and a contact but it kept saying bonding faild, thanks.
