No, they're all pretty crap.

Stick to using the traditional sending contacts via Bluetooth, its oldest and most simple and effective way of bluejacking.

I agree with etaab

Using apps tends to be slower and more unreliable thats all.

best thread ever !!!

ajack... i salute you ~

you guys do know that you can send your notes from your organizer in your phone , eg: k750i w800i.

thats how i blue jack.

Posted by etaab
Yes, but no phone will automatically accept them, unlike contacts which many phones do accept without the phone owners authorisation.

Also, SE note files are not compatible with most Bluetooth phones, so if they do accept the file, they cannot read it. Kind of pointless then, huh ?

Posted by awave
hmmm...i send aloada crap to some guy at school who's phone auto-accepts erm....samsung e350? dunno can't remember :S

i had a question..
Eldar wrote about the successor of k750(which is of course k790/k800) in his review about w810i..plz explain da quote..specially the part about blutooth profiles...does it mean no more blujacking wid k790.??

"The K750i, and correspondingly the W810i will be replaced only in the end of 2006, the next model will distinguish with a QVGA-screen, a 3MP camera, support for all possible Bluetooth profiles (but you still will be forbidden to scan other devices and their file structure),"

plz explain???

Posted by etaab
It means you wont be able to pair with a phone, and then use the old "Browse" function that the K700i had.

Its nothing to do with bluejacking.

You mean that k700 can see everything thru bluetooth?? which phones more than k700 can do that??

Posted by etaab
If i remember right, the Samsung D500 and D600 have the feature too.

I guess I should recount a moment that I had whilst on a train journey.

I was travelling from Bath to Reading in the UK on my way home from a training course. The train was packed as the previous one had been cancelled due to an accident. I ended up standing in the 1st class section as there were no seats left in standard class.

In the carriage there were a bunch of city wide boy types who were being rather loud and obnoxious. They were making rude comments about how the passengers who were standing in the carriage shouldn't be because they hadn't paid 1st class. I couldn't help thinking what a twat. So, i created a contact called 'Shut up you w@nk$r!" scanned for phones and sent it. Bingo! The loudest and most obnoxious of the guys picked up his phone and then looked around the carriage trying to find who had sent it. They were a lot quieter for the rest of the journey.

I know I got lucky actually getting the right phone out of a whole bunch that came up, But how fantastic was that. His face was a picture!

Good job. Bluetooth to the rescue.

Posted by Residentevil
Tried to scan for phones today, but no luck. Not as easy anymore to find victims these days. Ppl know more what they are doing. bummer.

Posted by etaab
I find the opposite, theres more Bluetooth phones around but they're impossible to send anything to, because most people seem to be buying Nokia phones that have to manually accept the message by the owner of the phone saying yes on their handset.

hi etaab

best place to bluejack someone is on a bus because they are always still and connection is good.

Posted by etaab
Possibly, but then whenever ive caught a bus in the past, theres only been the odd one or two phones on it and they were hardly ever bluejack-able.

I have more success sitting in my living room pointing my phone at the passing traffic when it gets congested.

Posted by Residentevil
And there is no escape.

Really funny that! what phone were you using?

Posted by etaab
Visiting Leeds today, i managed to bluejack several phones from the comfort of a friends car whilst in the congested gridlocked traffic.

Posted by tranced
This is one of the best bluejack i've ever done:

I was in a party and a guy had a w600 and bt handfree. I thought: if i try to send him a file he'll hear the incoming file alert. And that was what i did. I started to send him a file so he would listen to incoming file alert. I did it many times that he had to take his bt handfree off.

Posted by awave
lol - im gonna try some more @ skl lol - only done it once....i know theres several teachers that leave bt on on their phones...would be risky but probably worth it lol

also...is there a java program for se phones (v600i/k600i/k608i/k750i/w800i etc...) so that i can use the 'browse' feature that was on the older k700i - im sure this is able to be used through a j2me app

Not AFAIK, but if you find one let me know.

when you connect to another phone through bluetooth dont you and the other person have to enter the same code?

Thats correct

Posted by etaab
Only when pairing though.

Posted by JAGUY85
Didn't realize the browse feature was taken out of the K750. You sure? By the way, what are the most vulnerable phones to bluejacking? Tried doing it to my K700 with the K750 but K700 had to confirm everything so guess It's secure.

Posted by etaab
Yes we're sure, the K750i uses Bluetooth v2.0, which unless im mistaken had the browse function removed because people abused it. Either that, or SE simply removed the function.

bluejacking refers to sending contacts mainly, which are usually automatically accepted on SE phones. If your SE handset is not accepting them automatically, then you're sending the wrong type of item.

Posted by ares
people, the new version of easyjack is great, specialy the autojack feature. Its the best bluejacking app for k750 and Co right now

Posted by JAGUY85
I thought bluejack was hacking into someone's phone. I was trying a bluebug from this bloover that's what.

Posted by etaab
No, bluejacking is simply sending a message to someone using a phonebook contact.

The term used for Bluetooth hacking is bluesnarfing - and its not something we're really allowed to discuss here.

Posted by Johnex
Why not?

Posted by etaab
Its internationally illegal, just like any type of theft or intrusion of privacy.

We wouldnt want to get Esato closed down for supporting illegal behaviour..

Posted by jack77777
if there was a "far plugin" for a d600 then we could extract the browse function and place it on our se phones? , it would be hard to do , and many problems but well worth it !

Posted by etaab
You dont need to extract it, we're not talking about the mobile phone equivelant of a kidney transplant, its software orientated.

SE's v2.0 Bluetooth software does not have that feature anymore, as do many other manufacturers products because in the v2.0, there are tighter security protocols.

Posted by tranced
could some new firmware add this feature? Whether it happens i'll be happier than im now.

Posted by etaab
Its possible yes, but likely ? NO !

Posted by Residentevil
Good old fashion bluejacking is harder to come by every day.

Posted by DarkElf
I bluejacked some people at work today. I sen only a smiley. On SE you can name a contact only with a yellow smiley. And that looks very weird when you receives the message. (think it only shows correct on SE phones).

But the guy at work thought it was some virus. He talked with some colleagues about it and was really worried =P

Posted by tranced
bluejacking is not illegal, so why it was taken out from the k750. I just got some app for browsing other's cel files. Havent tried yet, but ill post some answers later......

Posted by etaab
Eh ?

it wasnt taken out of the K750i, you're still talking about the browsing of files. Thats nothing to do with bluejacking, but a simple phone feature.

bluejacking is the exploitation of using Bluetooth to send messages in files or items or pictures or sounds by methods it was never meant.

Posted by ashutosh
how is this done. i tried but could not succeed. please explain. thanks.

Posted by etaab
Go to your phonebook, create a contact, instead of putting a name enter a message instead. Then, save the contact, find it in the phonebook, choose more / send / via Bluetooth and off you go.

Posted by jack77777
www. getjar .com (no spaces) , then you can find loads of bluejacking softwware!

Posted by |SE|Ben|SE|
yes getjar is a good website but the thing is most of it is a trail ....... and i dont wanna pay for it

To connect with a phone that has BT does their BT need to be activated? I have a k790i. Is the BT active by default on that?
