I did a scan in the bank today, I'm pretty sure the only thing that came up was an apple computer somewhere. I'm not sure if it was a laptop in someones bag or in the bank itself, but it was showing something like a dozen available services... If it was the bank then they're living dangerously.
I work right beside a starbucks so I do a scan every now and then to see if anyone is open, then send them a message telling them to turn their bluetooth off least I hack 'em
Posted by etaab
How are they living dangerously ? theres millions of people walking around with their Bluetooth on, are they living dangerously too ?
Posted by max_wedge
hehe! Talk about paranoia!
I leave mine on all the time. What is there to be afraid of? I don't use an s60 device so I'm immune to the two phone viruses that are out there. I certainly wouldn't accept files from a stranger so I'm in no danger of anything.
I could hide my bluetooth I suppose, but then I forget when I'm trying to pair with someone and stuff around until I remember that my bluetooth is hidden!! So I just leave it on for convenience.

I think he was also referring to bluesnarfing risks.
But most new phones are not vulnerable to older bluesnarfing techniques. They may be vulnerable to some undiscovered Bluetooth security loop holes, but none that we're aware of yet or ever will be.
Posted by max_wedge
I don't believe the K750 is susceptible to bluesnarfing?
Posted by etaab
None of the current bugs or loopholes no.
But theres always the chance of new security issues being discovered, of which it and other phones might be vulnerable to.
Posted by BFassassin
what is bluesnarfing i've never heard of it before.
Posted by etaab
A Google web definition:
A security flaw in Bluetooth that could allow an attacker to access and copy information stored on a mobile phone without the user's knowledge has been dubbed "bluesnarfing." Any information stored on a phone -- like contact lists or e-mail and text messages -- are at risk in a bluesnarfing attack
Basically its a bit like hacking, but with Bluetooth and mobile phones.

True, you can never be too sure.
Posted by VillaNova
Can anyone tell me if there is a way that i can bluejack someone, without having to pair with them??
Posted by BFassassin
yes just go to the picture or video you want to send then send via bluetooth ,phone searches and you pick who to send it to. they have to accept it tho
Posted by VillaNova
almost all the times when i try, using easyjack or BTexplorer it asks for a PID
Posted by REO
what
Posted by VillaNova
It asks for that passcode used when you pair two phones.

Hi,
Just a word to announce the release of MobiLuck Java for Sony Ericsson.
For the moment this version is running well on K750i, W800i and K600i (+ operators clones...).
--> http://www.mobiluck.com/downl[....]are-Sony-Ericsson-K750i-en.php
So please test it and feel free to give us feedback
(It is also running on W550i and W900i but there are still some troubles we are working on.)
Posted by etaab
Its good, but tends not to search again after failing to send to another phone.
Posted by rockets
haha thats very funny
Posted by Areafada
some asked me a question which is faster in transfering data a usb connection or a bluetooth connection?
Posted by ambyzown
@Areafada: There is no basis for comparism whatsoever. USB provides much faster connection speeds than Bluetooth.
For example, USB version 1.1 provides speeds up to 12Mbit/s while version 2.0 (hi-speed usb) can handle speeds up to 480Mbit/s.
On the other hand, Bluetooth 2.0 (the most recent version) delivers speeds of 2.1Mbit/s maximum, while versions 1.1 and 1.2 top off at 723.1kbit/s.

hello guys, i want to ask about blueJacking, i have BTExplorer and also easyjack programs but i can't send message to nokia phones , with btexplorer this error appear "Device Unreachable" and with easyjack this error appear "Obex Fail" what is a problem?
>(sorry for my english)<
Posted by etaab
It more than likely means the other phone has left Bluetooth range (10m).
Posted by miroalex
No also i want to jack my friend's mobile(6630) and again same errors (he stand beside me and the range is 50cm !) other ideas?
Posted by shivam007
Hey can ny 1 tell me why bluetooth is called so?
Posted by etaab
@ miroalex - what phone are you using ?
Posted by relentle$$
@shivam007
The name Bluetooth was born from the 10th century king of Denmark, King Harold Bluetooth who engaged in diplomacy which led warring parties to negotiate with each other. The inventors of the Bluetooth technology thought this a fitting name for their technology which allowed different devices to talk to each other.

@etaab
I read you use an XDA2 which you find good for BluJacking. I myself have an XDA2i and just wondered what programs you use on it to BluJack?
Posted by eks_are
hai everybody...actually i wanna know...all these java application like easy_jack, mobiluck n etc only demo version or full??...i mean they have expired date or not...if someone have a link for these appl. in full version please tell me...n 1 more thing...does it work for w550i
Posted by etaab
@ eggergizer - i dont currently use any bluejacking apps on my XDA2. The reason being the XDA2 had pretty flawed Bluetooth implementation, and it was hard to find apps that could use Bluetooth on it.
However, Mobiluck works on it, as do one or two Java apps (see below), but my favourite method is still the old beaming contacts via Bluetooth. The XDA2 has much better Bluetooth range than the specified 10m or anything SE have ever offered.
@ eks_are - most java bluejacking apps get released as demos, then the full app never gets finished by the developer, either because they run out of patience or finances.
BTexplorer is my favourite, because its free and offers more advanced options than other apps. Give it a try, along with others:

Etaab - I am using K750i !!!
Posted by etaab
Well, regarding your problem i cannot think what would be causing this error.
You could try reinstalling BTexplorer, or try setting the local connectivity of the app (MORE / PERMISSIONS / LOCAL CONNECTIVITY) to never ask.
Other than that, theres not much else you can do. Try bluejacking other phones, as it may be a problem with the phone you are trying to bluejack.

@etaab
Yeah never thught of it that way.....I'll remove it myself.....

Thats the first ive heard of it.
Its not really bluejacking though, and i think for legal reasons your post might get moderated.
Posted by ajack
Sorry... Did I miss something in the last few posts?
Posted by etaab
Surprisingly what eggergizer posted works, however this isnt the place to discuss it.

Care to share with me what eggergizer did?
Posted by etaab
He mentioned something to do with Bluetooth security, and posted a link to download tools to use to exploit such vulnerabilities.
Its fine to talk about it, but i dont think its a very good idea making it look like Esato supports such illegal activities, therefore a good idea to remove the links and possibly end the discussion there.

Nice to see another piece of software being used gain a profit.
Everyone seems to be jumping on the bluejacking money spinning band wagon these days. I refuse to buy the software myself, i could probably write better coding.

reading all these post really made my day, lol u guys are fun. the most I laughed in days

anybody knows what program shall I use to have this kind of fun from a phone -smartphone with windos mobile 2003?
thanks.
Posted by etaab
You could try Mobiluck..
Posted by bogdan_wrc
it expires very fast, and it still need the other pers's accept.
any ideeas?
Posted by etaab
No, they're all pretty crap.
Stick to using the traditional sending contacts via Bluetooth, its oldest and most simple and effective way of bluejacking.
