@etaab
hey man sup...thnx
hey ive tried it with my bro's z600i...but no results...is the picture suposed to show up when they recieve the contact?
or they just see it when they ACCEPT the contact?
thnx in advance
Posted by gelfen
it's slower because attaching the picture requires a lot more data to be sent than the text content of a contact.
Posted by Residentevil
The Z600 has to accept the bluejack contact. Otherwise it does not receive it.
Posted by PixQueL
no no..you dont get it...i know how to bluejack...ive sent the contact...when he recives the contact its just says "whatever the bluejack message is" recived...but i dont see the pic
my question is...is the picture suposed to come up when the recieve the contact?...or they have to go menu>file manager>pictures>etc.. to see the pic?????
thanks
Posted by 02
hmm i wonder how it works?? coz normally the person im sending message to have to accept my bluetooth if not they do not receive it automatically.... so bluejacking is dependen if they accept it..
right?

Yes, but its not as simple as that. If you send a contact through OBEX Object Push, it’ll send it pretty quickly because the contact is only a few bytes in size. When you send a picture, it uses the OBEX FTP, which has a high transfer rate of 24KB/sec on the K700i.
The Object Push profile appears to have a much lower transfer rate than the FTP profile, which is why sometimes it can take 2-3 minutes to send a contact with a 15kb picture attached.

I don’t know where you saw that happen, but of all the Z600’s ive bluejacked, they all accept the phonebook contact automatically like most SE phones.
SE phones all tend to accept automatically, it’s the S60 Nokia phones that require the phone owner to say YES on their phone before the connection is allowed.
@ PixQueL, the picture only shows when they go to their pictures folder.
On Nokia phones, the picture shows on their phone as a thumbnail attached to the contact in their phonebook.

this is all very well but how do I get my SMAN 1.4 working again!! Its just shut itself down because its not a proper edition and I cant reinstall it, I've tried I just get the same message! Its so much easier with sman!

Try PM'ing Ajack, or ask on the sman forum:

@etaab
cool mate! thanks...thats all i wanted to know....if BLOKIAS shows em as an attached piucture when they just recive the contact
i dont care if SE's do it.....but im glad to know blokia do it ..haha those are the ones i like most to bluejack...i made a contact that says ".Service Online. Charged $20" and attached a picture i did from the local service ("TELCEL")it looks like this:
but at the bottom (under "Bluetooth") i put the word "service"
so it looks if they have entered the bluetooth service area and they are charged $20
lol

The problem with Nokias however is they tend to only show in thumbnail size..

hi there!
i noticed, that when u use a blokia to BJ, its easier to send a note to the other phone, rather then a contact. when we tried, a txt doc came to my phone, with the msg. but when sending a note from my SE to the blokia (i guess 6630) it wasn readable.
after this, i checked the filemanager/others section of my phone and noticed that the txt file is right there, and i can modify/send it. i hadnt got time to try this, but if any of you can help me: try to send this txt to a blokia, and check if its readable. i think its better then sending a contact.
regards, nolimits
edit1: i've managed to try with my pda, and you have to put the msg into the name of the file like: "buy SE!!!.txt"

Today at Starbucks I did a search and found a T650. There was a guy playing with his phone and it looked like a K700 with a external short antenna on the left side, so I don't know what phone it was. Anyway I send the standard "You have been bluejacked". So he looked around baffled. Then I tried to send "Congratulations, you won a free coffee" but he shut of his BT connection.
Posted by etaab
@ Residentevil, whats a T650 ??
@ nolimits, different makes of phone handle note files differently. Nokia phones can read SE note files, but SE phones cannot read Nokia note files. Theres a lot of compatibility issues regarding notes.
Stick to sending phonebook contacts, since they're recognised by all bluejackable phones, and can be read easily by all phones - so you'll have a higher success rate.

i thought i was the only one out there doing this!!!!!!
omg it feels like im home at last, lol. now i'll have to find a new trick!
where do i go from here, ne1 got ne ideas for a new prank?
ps this is my first post here, this forum is the coxes pippins.

@etaab, I think Residentevel is referring to Treo650
Posted by Residentevil
It came up as a T650, but it was not an SE phone. I think it looked more like a Treo 650. That is the best guess.

I see.
I got an interesting bluejack today. Here i was, posting on Esato a K700i picture, and when i tried to send the picture from my phone to my pc using Bluetooth, a Nokia 6310i showed up.
I was quite suprised to see it. So, i grabbed my PDA and sent it 10 messages all at once. From next door i could hear beeping
I did it again, and again, and again, until the owner of the 6310i left my neighbours house about 20 minutes later.
You never know when a bluejacking opportunity will arise, huh ?
Posted by 02
@etaab
so ur messages got sent?? meaning they accepted ur massages right?? or its automatic?
Posted by etaab
Nokia 6310i phones accept phonebook contacts automatically.
They also accept up to 10, so you can send 10 before the phone rejects them. When the owner has rejected one, or all, you can send more and more.
The downside to the 6310i is because its a fairly old business phone, you cannot send it colour pictures, and it'll only display 16 characters of the contacts name. So, messages have to be 16 characters or less.

Hey.. !..
i kind been out for a while so.. this Q was asked couple thousand time.. i think..
is there app or some that would auto. adjust B-settings (using contact or a note and so on..) depending on the phone it finds.. while BJ'ing?
** i got a girls phone nummber and photo .. yesterday..
domb blond ass b***..
Posted by etaab
The answer to your question is no.
There is bluejacking software available, but none automatically adjust the message settings before it sends it to specific phones.
Posted by ten18
I snarfed a few phonebook entries today and some txt messages from some nokia phone, hehe
Posted by stirlo
lol, i'm always trying to pick up my next-door-neighbours phones (three dudes who always have the latest nokias) but they either don't have Bluetooth on or are set to "not visible"
well done etaab!
the 6310i is still a very popular phone, and one of my favs to send stuff too, love the "beep-beep-beep-beeeeep"
Posted by etaab
My neighbour on the other side has a N-gage QD, that shows up everytime hes at home.
Ive never tried to bluejack him though, since he'd know it was me.

Well my home is a victorian period terraced house, so through the walls on either side we have neighbours, its not detached.

arghhh! ive got plenty of people on my BT but i dont dare do it!! i just got a feeling its like some muscular guy and he comes up to me going 'alright sunshine, follow me!' so maybe ill stand OUTSIDE of a bank then run after sending a note of 'yoyo me like money'
Posted by etaab
Why not ? they cannot prove it was you, since Bluetooth doesnt leave your phone number behind..
Posted by Glenny
i dont know, i will do it this weekend, i just gotta make sure no1 can see me messing with my phone right?
Posted by ten18
yea thats right and u gotta make sure that u dont look at the person your blujackin or they will get suspicious and chase you!
Posted by etaab
It doesnt matter what you do really, just do not make it obvious by laughing, or staring at the person you're bluejacking.
Also, try to do it in a crowded place. You're far less likely to be suspected or confronted by the victim. If you're stood in the middle of a field with your victim and there is nobody else around for miles, they're going to know its you.
Just use some common sense.
I bluejack people all the time, often when im stood right next to them and they can see me using my phone. The trick is, they dont know its me because i give them no reason to suspect me. Often, pretending to make a call on your phone is a good decoy, or randomly hitting the keys to make it look like you're texting is good, whilst the message is being sent.
Posted by stirlo
Yeah, don't be a scaredy-cat! As well, most people have no clue what is going on, they usually think it's an sms without a return.number, or something from their network.
Posted by etaab
Yup. Heres a typical example.
The other day i was on a bus and saw a woman 2 seats in front pull out a Nokia 6310i. So, my first thought was to try to bluejack her.
I did, 4 times, and she was majorly puzzled, and was probably looking around thinking someone she knew must have been on the bus. She looked directly at me but it never entered her head it was me because she knew i didnt have her phone number.
I even took a picture with my K700i which made the huge camera shutter sound and neither she, or the woman behind her and in front of me noticed.
Grow some nads, and try again..
Posted by stirlo
Dammit! Just lost my 6230... 1 minute, it was in my pocket... The next, it's gone
Posted by etaab
Call the phone, if anyone answers ask for it back. If nobody answers of if they refuse to give it back, get the IMEI number blocked by calling your operator or the police and report the phone stolen.

UNLUCKY MY FRIEND!!! thanks for all the tips guys, ill do it at duke of endinburough ( or however u spell it), theres some tough lookin guys there lol

Edinburgh. Far easier to just say D of E guys
Posted by etaab
Heres an example:
A week ago (last Monday) i was sat on the back seat of a bus. I scanned, found a phone called Mark, and sent it a message. It was a teenager sat slightly in front of me to my left.
Then a little while later, a huge 7' tall big scarey looking guy got on the bus. He looked like Lennox Lewis.
He sat directly in front of me. Up on my phones screen appeared a phone called Ali. I sent it a couple of messages, and could see this HUGE guy looking at his phone from behind him.
He'd no idea it was me, even though at the time i was giggling like a Japanese school girl with my phone in my hand. I even had the the bottle to take a picture as a trophy:
Like i say, he had no idea it was me and i was sat right there !
Posted by Residentevil
good one.

Heh, is that all you have to add.. ?
