is this CARIBE virus in the uk
Posted by Blexcroid
At the shopping centre yesterday, I sent "MyDOOM virus received. Quarrantine it now?" I was near an AT&T phone centre booth and hit a new customer's phone. The girl showed the poor sales-kid (he was barely 17 I think) and he said, "Oh my God!", and opened the phone and pulled the battery while it was on! The phone was quiite 'offended' at having its battery removed while turned on and the lad's boss was quite mad. Seems he toasted the new phone.

i recently bought a z600 (previously owned a nokia 3310) and will never go back!!!! is there a bt "discover" option on my z600????
Posted by Residentevil
That is about right: Ericsson kicked off what would become the BT movement in 1994 while investigating the possibility of a wireless interface between cell phones and their accessories. Eventually, it settled on small radio chips that let devices communicate over a lowpower frequency. In honor of the technology's unifying powers, Ericsson named it after Harald Bluetooth, the Danish King who brought together Denmark and Norway in the 10th. century. To promote BT's development /// gave it away for free. In Feb. 1998, ///, IBM, Intel, Nokia and Toshiba founded the BT special interest group SIG, a trade association dedicated to further the development of BT. and so on and so on..........

@gotanewphone: yup bottom left icon. connect/Bluetooth/options/visibility
under edit phone name you can give your phone the name that appears on other phones when they connect to yours via BT.
However, to be visible BT also needs to be turned on.

Having problems bluejacking? What i've discovered is that people often wander in and out of range but are still on the hit list (a cache of some sort) what I do is switch the phone into and out of flight mode (tap the signal strength and it pops up) and then do a scan, anyone listed you should have no problem jacking.
PS Puck Off has renamed herself to Shel (formerly sexy hooker shel)
PPS still to be bluejacked myself....

I have two the first is i was at busch gardens in florida and there was a 4-d type show in a big theater as i was sitting down i notcied some young kid playin with his T610 3 rows in front of me so i proceeded to rome for BT devices and what do u know "Pimpin"At that point i knew i had my target i Sent the first contact as "You just got jacked"The look was priceless he looked like a bobble head looking around with a look of stupidity on his face so i type up a contact real fast and sent the next one as "Look Around Pimp"It was great i dont think he seen to much of the show as he was trying to figure out what just happend to his phone..Me and my freinds had a good laugh....
Two days later im driving down the road and i see i BMW right next to me i pulled my phone out with bad intentions and went to my contact and found the one that said "Look Around"without the pimp and watched as he got the message...I couldnt stop laughing so when he started to look i held my phone up and just started bustin up laughing he reaction wasnt the same as he kept looking at his phone like it had a picture of Kwazimotto humpin Rudolph

being the owner of a z600, are they any good for bluejacking, i've heard they are much like the t610 is this correct?
Posted by etaab
They work exactly the same. The only downside to the Z600 is because its a flip phone, people can see you using it much easier because of its larger size when open, so they might know its you sending them messages.

T'was REALLY naughty last night-- Bluejacked two phones at a wedding reception with one of those fancy sit-down dinners while waiting for the rubber chicken. The first goober named his phone his full name, Paul 'Jones'. Sent message, "Paul, your boner is showing!" Couldn't tell who received it, but they shut off their BT for the night. Sent "This band s*cks" to a T616. Watched the vic laugh and pass his phone around the table. BTW- The band really did s*ck.

Can u bluejack with the k700???
I did it in my t68...but that was some time ago... i wanna do it again tho....
Posted by gottanewphone
hey peoples, finally, my first bluejack, i was in the university library with my g/f so i figured i'd do a search and see's wh's about, picked up a phone named "T610" so i sent it hey there. then 2 girls and a boy right behind me start askin each other if they sent it. i also named my phone "T630" to make it look like it aint me (i own a z600) to make it less obvious
Posted by wazzup
yeah, i tried it once in amsterdam 2, just didn't know it was named bluejacking, i found 2 phones, but when i tried 2 send somting they were gone. So i guess they were just passengers or so. And i want to ask, cuz you guys say their phone starts to ring, but when i send somting to my friend, who does know about it he always has to press yes or accept before he can receive the item. Aint there a way to send something without the other user having to press yes?
Posted by etaab
If you send files like pictures, or ringtones they always have to say yes.
If you send just phonebook contacts, calendar appointments or tasks, they get accepted without having to say yes...
except for on Nokia phones, Nokia phones all have to say YES..
except the 6310i which will go with anything. ( its the slut of the bluejacking phone world )

How to get someone else the blame
===========================
Our ticket collectors on the trains now have these thermal printing PDA docking things - look very flash, so I set my sman message to 'Tickets Please' and enjoyed as the poor soul was shown mobile phone after mobile phone (mostly 6310i) as he progressed through the carriage. Simple things and simple minds....

Some guy just sent me pics of girls naked--i replied with the classic goatse! Lol you should have seen his face! Lol lol

no luck since the ngage
Posted by Blexcroid
@ gottanewphone: Try renaming your phone "Dean of Students" or another appropriate title of an authority at the university. Then send a message like "Please report to my office ASAP". Or name your phone 'Jones' Library and BT a message like "You have 12 overdue books"
Posted by Iggy
I made a contact named "ERASE PHONEBOOK?" and when you send it, it says something like ERASE PHONEBOOK? and YES and NO above the hotkeys. Pure genius.

i thought it said do u want to save

i just upgraded to R2L recently but still the same problem occured. maybe my bt only can bluejack SE phone,haha..
Posted by etaab
Dont be silly
Its happening because most Nokia phones need the victim to manually accept the message.

Today, i was travelling to my management institution in the morning via train. Two teens were playing off with their nokias. I just created a new contact by the name "Your phone is Hacked" and send it to one of them.
The kid was standing right in front of me and any of the two did not notice me doing all this. When he received the businnes card, he was completely shocked and read it aloud "Your phone Has Being Hacked". Boy, did i enjoy that moment

I have a Sony Ericsson T610 and new to this blue-tooth techonology. I tried this trick in a pack public place by switching on my bluetooth and searching for new devices in a public place and behold i found a few names of handsets appearing! But i noticed that if i want to try to add the other handset it asks for a pass-key it comes up with "bluetooth connection failed" and i know the other user needs this same code in order to pair the devices.
Is there any way of by-passin this feature to able to blue-jack the other person's phone?

Thats because you're trying to pair your phone with theirs..
dont, just create a phonebook contact, highlight it, and choose to send it via bluetooth.
Posted by Frubin
Arh, ok. I'll try tat and let u know if it works. Would that be the same for sending other stuff like pictures and stuff?
Thanks for your help!

I tried to bluejack Nokias but everytime sure failed.
Anyway, yesterday I was in the immigration dept and did a scan. Found some devices and sent out a contact that says,
What are you doing here?
Turns out he was sitting very near me and saw him looking around and the look on his face was priceless.

LoL! I did something similiar! I was in the bank, waiting and decided to finally try out this blue-jacking. Switched on my bluetooth and created a new contact "MbViRuS recieved. Quarantine? then ask to send it via bluetooth. It found a T610 and i sent it. I saw who the victim was as she took the phone out of her the bag looked at the screen then put her mobile back in the bag. As a laugh i resent it again, she did it again but this time looked around with a puzzled face! I just sat there with a big grin on my face!
Gonna have fun with my new hobby, bluejackin handsets!

Yeah, i found the same problem as well when i tried to bluejack a Nokia 6600, but i did mange to bluejack a Nokia 6310i. Maybe the newer Nokia models have a better potection system on them to prevent people to bluejacking them?
Posted by etaab
No. Its their operating system.
The new Nokia phones use the Symbian Series 60 which stops messages getting accepted unless the owner of the phone manually accepts the messages.
The 6310i is an old business phone with a simply interface. So simply, it'll go with anything. Its the slut of the bluejacking world.
