It is possible if they're totally clueless, but sometimes its fun to get bluejacked youself

Or they may have forgotten to turn it off (like me)

But bt enabled fones have some kind of option to wither 'hide' or trun the bt off.

Posted by Blexcroid
In the States the GUMBA cell sales-kids are quite ignorant when it comes to BT. They set up the phone with the BT "on" and tell their customers to "keep the BT on to make a better connection" People actually believe them! SHEESH! and I thought I was uninformed...

loll
An paradise to bluejacking i think....

1 Nokia Bluejacked today!!

Posted by verlin
I bluejacked someone d other day on a cinema. At last i did it! :-DBut why do i get connection failed most of the time?

Posted by kimcheeboi
bt's range is about 10 m, so you will lose bjack targets very often.

It's really exasperating.

So exasperating you had to say it twice ?

I sent this kid on the bus a message yesterday, he had a Nokia 7600, you know that square one.. i sent him the message ' ugly phone, buy a SE ! '

He started getting all freaked out, he had no idea who'd sent it to him lol !

The BT range is 10 meter... but this 10 meters are applied in what terms?? For example if i´m on road, and someone is on an building 8 meter above me and on my front 9 meters there´s another, the BT cover the 2´s?

Posted by etaab
In range terms yes.. but if theres something that might kill the signal theres a chance it might not connect. I know when i try with my T610, it will connect up to and around 10m but if theres lots of people or something like a thick concrete wall in the way it can stop the signal getting through.

Ive noticed on Nokias, the Bluetooth seems to be more powerful. Although its still 10m, it penetrated objects much easier than my T610 ever can.

Its a 10m sphere all around you in 360 degrees.

@ Etaab-- UGLY PHONE??!?? Got to add that one to my list! Especially for use with the idiots who are proud of their Nokias! Also, found another great place to Bjack today-- the food court of the shopping malls here in the US. Targets are typically seated (as in cinemas) but the lights are on, so you can find your vic. Hammered some poor brick user 3 times as I ate my icecream. Not sure which I enjoyed more Seems easier to Bjack when I can set my phone sideways on its thin side and discreetely watch the screen as it scans & sends.

I have 150 premade messages on my T610 which ive put together over the past 8 or so months ive been bluejacking. On my two PDA's i have about 250 on each - hopefully one for all occasions

Posted by humpers2003
Does anyone still bluejack?

Humpers2003.

Posted by etaab
Still ? ive never stopped ! been bjackin for ages now

I was in mcdonalds today, and sent this girl in the queue behind me ' you smell bad ! ' and she looked really worried, so i then sent her ' you have a nice bum ' which made her smile !

Then i sent a few more while i was trying to eat, including some to a laptop computer but i didnt see anyone with one.

Posted by etaab
Not yet but i know you can buy them.

Posted by kimcheeboi
I want to go to sears tomorrow to bluejack one

and then walkthroughout the rest of the mall looking for hot girls

Posted by verlin
when bluejacking, does the victim see the phone name of the bluejacker?

Posted by gotska
I have tried to send contact or image to my friends 8910i with T610 and P900. It doesn't work. My phone gets stuck in connecting mode and if he doesn't turn off his bluetooth I have to disconnect the battery to restart.
Did someone connect or bjacked a 8910 ?

Posted by scotsboyuk
This question is intended for all bluejackers; which device (not necessarily a phone) would you consider is the best for bluejacking?

Posted by etaab
1. On some phones yes, mostly Nokia's such as the N-gage and 6600

2. Ive tried bjackin 8910i's before too, and they never connect. I think the 8910i isnt compatible with other phones Bluetooth profiles, as each time ive tried the same things happened. The same thing also happens with my old PDA.

3. A p800 or p900 with Sman to send automatic messages (the boring way), or manually, probably the T610 and its family as they're small so people cant see you using them while bjackin.

I was bluejacking merrily at Alton Towers last Saturday!

Got a few victims but they must have had their phones on silent so I didn't see who they were.

Posted by Blexcroid
Was at an amateur radio (HAM) convention today with a bunch of old geezers and radio geeks. Bjacked several phones, including one called "Hacker". Wish I could have seen his face when he realised his phone had been 'hacked'! (I figure he's probably a window licker!) I'm amazed at how many phones were visible. Thanks to Etaab, I had many additions to my message library!

I'd go with any nice small phone (easy to hide )

I was trying all day today whilst out shopping for a new wardrobe ( clothes, not the actual wardrobe ) and only managed to get one T610, which was in a shop which sold nothing but duvets.. i sent him ' This phone is stolen! '

I found an interesting phone called ' Porn for free ' but lost the connection while i tried to bj it.

Posted by Guy89
once i found a device with 'dare to bluejack me?' name

Posted by kimcheeboi
haha my name is "bjack? dont evn think abt it!" or soemthing like that

Posted by tomtom
Hey this is my first post from my mobile. I set the shortcut on my t610 joystick to go directly to sending phone book entries which makes it nice and easy to get to my 'Buy SE' or 'You've been Bluejacked entries' when i see a possible victim. I also found the best place in sydney for it. Town hall station. You get about 4 different people on every search while waiting for a train.

i got a few on the train yesterday. in the morning there was a t610 and a p800 called "P800-loz". i sent a few standards ("nice phone", "high there!", "you've been bluejacked!", and "www.esato.com (gelfen)")

on the way home there was a t610, an "unknown" phone which i think was actually a PDA, and an icon i'd never seen before. it was a white square without a name, but when i highlighted it there were two dots where the name should be in the active frame. anyone have any idea what it was?

Posted by etaab
A PDA (the middle one), the dots probably meant it had no name.

Today, I scared the hell out of a girl in my class. She has a 6310 (a easy victim) . We saw the movie "Willmark" (Norwegian Horrorfilm)
In the movie, there is a man (the killer) who's wearing a red lady's dress. I sent the following message to her (only in Norwegian) "I've got my red dress on and I'll see you tonight"

The girl read the message and talked upset to her friend. After a short while, they went out on the hallway. When they got back. I sent her "Just kidding with ya. Look over to the left."

I smiled at her, and her friend started to laugh. That was pretty funny.

hey, i'll be travelling this weekend with my phone so i'll have some fun bluejacking cause down here is really tough because many people can't afford them. so hopefully over there might be different.
wish me luck.

Posted by gelfen
thanks etaab. got another one this morning, called "Sheriff" if you can believe that!

Posted by kimcheeboi
sheriff... as in sexual deviance sheriff?

Seen a lot of devices named POCKET_PC or Palm_Device. Obviously PDAs, never had success jacking them- sending always fails. Are PDAs jack-able or are they a different protocol? Don't wanna waste time and batt if not.

Posted by etaab
They are jackable, i have two PPC's which both can be bjacked.

Palms can be too, i dont know why you're having such problems. Maybe pda's went out of range ?

Posted by Dyrules
I love bluetooth now! I currently own a Nokia 3650 house brick (getin a SE P900 soon) and my mate got a 3650 yestaday an asked me to help him with it so i decided to have some fun. I turned his bluetooth on and set it so that my phone is granted access to his (to bypass the comfimation message when i send him files) then i set my bluetooth to invisible mode an started sending him loads of random notes and set my phone so it would send him over 100 note so his message tone went off every 5 seconds lol he didnt no how to delete all the messages at 1ce...

Posted by Payalnik
I tried bluejacking today in the trade center but most of the BT devices there were PCs. The phones were mostly renamed by its owners. It seems that I can't bluejack a PC?

Posted by etaab
You can, but i dont think the message appears on the computers screen. Instead the contact simply gets saved into the computers phone book, or Outlook contacts.

Posted by Payalnik
Most of the contacts i had sent were unable to deliver =( And i'm still thinking of ome good msg to send...

Posted by aquablade 90210
