hmm, i tried letting it search, but the old ones still there. btw, im using t610. any idea, guys?

Posted by ajack
@wiNd:

They are either phones which are paired with your phone or are phones which are discoverable near you. Vlammtje is right that they should disappear after a while if not paired to your phone.

@all:

I totally agree with the "BJ are for dicks, not bricks" statement...

People should use "bjack" or "bluejack" to describe their bluejacing experience, "BJ" just doesn't look right...

so on the train i bluejacked this guy whose phone name was 'cuteboy' or something .

I started sendig him contacts like 'youre soooooo cute' and 'youre a silly boy, cutie' and 'you look cute frm ovr here' etc. etc.

He got quite embarassed and he kept looking around (too bad he wasn't seriously homophobic like some of the super-religious twats around here cough gw cough bush cough cough); it would have been funnier !

Posted by etaab
Your past bluejacked phones disappear when you turn the phone off. If they dont you paired your phone with theirs.

I got this kid on the bus the other day, i sent him 8 messages all at the same time on my pda. It was hilarious as his ngage displayed my bluetooth name and i heard him say ' messages from etaab ! ' then he read them all out loudly. His mate then realised what happened and said give me your phone its someone on this bus. I literally sank in my seat !

Posted by Blexcroid
@ wiNd:

To "unpair" BT devices without turning the phone OFF then ON with a T61x series phone, Goto:

CONNECT

BLUETOOTH

MY DEVICES

You should see a list of devices you are paired with-- one of which should be the phone.

Jog down to it and hit DELETE.

That should delete it from your list and you are ready to seek & BJack again!

(Looking forward to BJacking at NASA again tomorrow.....)

thanks guys for those replies

yesterday, able to bjack a nokia 3660. send 3 msgs to him, and he starts to show his handphone to both of his frens...* i wonder what he is thinking *

and another question here, i tried testing with my fren's nk6600. when i start to send him a contact, his handphone will prompt a msg saying "Accept incoming msg via bluetooth (or similiar), Yes or No?". so, i would like to ask whether this msg prompt will alert the user of the hp (like beeping or something)? only after i accept it, then it will show "1 NEW MESSAGE". so i wonder do they need to press ACCEPT then only receive the msg, or the other way round?

Posted by Vlammetje
newer nokias need to accept messages from unpaired devices. Can't bloooojack them unless they are willing to play along (and many many many ppl still are )

Maybe it's because some of US are LADIES and are not familiar with the Locker Room terms that men use. . . .

Also, remember that some terms are regional (eg. used in Europe, but not US). NASA has many acronyms & terms that I cannot use outside of the Houston area. GUMBA = Generally Unable to Make Basic Assumptions (in Italy or Philadelphia it has a very different meaning).

Maybe sending the person a private message would help educate them discreetly

I thought most people were familiar with the acronym 'BJ'

Even the girls I know know what it means

Someone said "that yanks have all the fun." GW Bush sure is a lot of fun!

Speaking of that DEAR little man, has anyone ever 'bj'acked anyone famous?

and maybe education in public, albeit a little more tactfully, will stop others making the same mistake about what is really trans-atlantic slang.

Posted by Sammy_boy
I could put here what 'BJ' also stands for, but I think my post would be edited or deleted by a mod!

Anyway, me and a mate managed to 'double' bluejack someone! I was in the pub, and bluejacked this middle aged man first with 'make mine a double' using a Nokia 7650 (I know I know - I left my P800 at my girlfriends so was using the 7650!), heard his 6310 beep, and him looking at his phone in a very bemused way, and looking round wondering who had just sent this message, and how! Then my friend arrived, and promptly got him again with his T68i! Now, he was looking REALLY confused! The only thing is, he kept looking at me, I wonder if I got rumbled - but he didn't say anything. Needless to say, he looked very bemused, and not particularly amused I'm afraid!

Posted by Blexcroid
@Sammy_boy: Way to go m8! Maybe your vic had one too many warm beers Sounds like double teaming some unsuspecting person might be fun on a long tube ride too.

I wonder if there will be any potential victims at jury duty next Monday. . . <---mischevious grin It might help to pass the time.

Posted by gelfen
don't they make you hand in your phone or something at jury duty?

Posted by kimcheeboi
@sammy_boy-so you 'bj'ed an old man? lol j/k

good one tho!

Posted by Sammy_boy
@kimchee

I don't think this guy would know what Bluetooth was, let alone know what had happened to him, or turn his bluetooth off!

It was funny, although I did feel a pang of guilt....

Posted by kimcheeboi
still 'bj'acking is the funniest when you do it to clueless people. I remember I sent some guy with a p800 (in class) about 30 ringtones and 20 contacts and he juist accepted all of them

I agree with kim on this one. I'm Norwegian and even I knew what 'BJ' means... =)

True, but I believe that that kinda term is more internally known, as you yourself state. And bj is just an abbreviation, where the word is widely known (that is, if you've ever been to a porn-site... )

Maybe, but I don't know how many times it's been stated in this thread that BJ and BJACKING/BLUEJACKING/BTJACKING "are in two different leagues. Hell it's not even in the same ballpark!" as I think Samuel L. Jackson said it in Pulp Fiction. =)

Well you actually don't have to go to an 'adult' site to know what it means. "feels like warm apple pie!"

LOL! true... but I felt that ppl would know what I was talking about.

@gelfen:

There was an incident in Wales where this guy took a picture of the defendant and got a 250 £ for contempt. The article says that it's illegal to take pictures in court in Wales.

This is what happend last week in a bar. My friend has a new nokia and I tried to bt a pic to him. I saw 2 phones w bt - Larry + Christina. My friend has another name so I try Larry but I get stuck in connecting. Then I try Christina and a woman at the table next to us get the pic and show it to her friends. I bj her without really wanting it. I have tried bjing again but never succeded again.

at this time of the year, jazz is d air. so Thursday afternoon at a jazz party i decided to try some bluejackin when i saw this girl with a t68i. so i whiped out my t616 and tried to find her but instead found a t610. so what else to do but send a message: 'i am da devil and been watching you. your room is ready' the only thing is i never saw who got the message because of all the people there, but at least it worked.

Posted by coopere
you are lucky to get the dongle that cheap. i've seen them at a local store and its priced at $115 e.c.

Anyone started a thread with the best messages to send via Blue Jacking?

I named my Phone: SECURITY

and usually send : WE ARE WATCHING...YOU

This gets some great bemused looks... anything better ?

Ive just started: BLUEJACK TAG... YOURE IT !

anybody else ? ... tee hee

Yes there is already a thread for that :-)

I did a successful bj today at IKEA. The contact I sent had this text: Virus alert! Sim card cloned! - I felt really bad after bcause I think this text is realy a little bit to naughty to send. I was sending to a nokia and stopped walking not to get out of range. Then I see this man just 1 m from me looking at his nokia and showing it to his wife. I think this text is a little bit too nasty so I will be nice in future BJs.

Posted by Blexcroid
Just got invited to a niece's college graduation ceremony. Sounds like a captive audience for some ripe bjacking! (...and I thought the ceremony was going to be boring...)

BTW: What's the "code" for bjacking other phones?? If they're dumb enough to leave themselves vulnerable they deserve it?? So far I've just seen one T616, but passed it up for an ngage. When I tried a few minutes later, it was gone.

I sent the 'virus alert' mess to a t610 as well. But I'm not shure if it passed. SE users always has to confirm incoming mess, don't they?

Posted by etaab
No only the newer nokia's running the series 60 symbian have to click yes to take the message. SE's phones dont.

i bjacked someone today, i was sat in my car in the garden centre's car park and sent a message to someone, but i didnt see who.

Posted by red5hark
@boyi, do you know which thread ?

Ta.

I switched on the bluejack feature of sman on my P900 while shopping in Asda, West Bridgeford in Nottingham. I found "Emmathebabe" and bluejacked her with "Behind you!" didn't see her though, which is a shame. Would've been nice to see if she really was a babe!

Posted by gelfen
never mind.

she probably had a face like the back end of a battleship (after the torpedo).

There are any brand of mobiles that sells the products with the bluethooth always "On", and on by defect?? I say this becouse i found in some shoppings a large number of people with BT on, and most people that i tal know that BT on reduces the battery time so thy put BT off... so i was wondering this possibility of BT on without users know that! Thank´s!
