Currys, Argos and this DIY place, In Swindon (green bridge) all the places were packed.

edit: and staples where i searched and found a comp called 01E...... (something like that it was long) it also had the comp. pic next to it, i search again and it said computer and found a T610.

in the other places i found 5-10 "phone" 2 phones with names, and aload of nokia 3650i's (or is it 3610i ? anyway what ever they're called) and 7650's (or what ever they're called). so i probably over OTT with saying 30 phones about 10-20.

I went to a coupla firework displays this week and I got quite a few. One guy was standing right near us (well, it was at Lewes carnival which means pretty much everyone is stood near you, sixty thousand people all crammed into the town centre, mucho fun I'm sure !) We were all getting buffeted and bashed and it was quite heartening to see the same phone coming up again and again. I sent him "Happy Nov 5th, take care" and he was amused and mystified. It sorta made us realise that everyone else who is squashed up against you is human too - not just a body.

My favourite place to jack is at Lakeside shopping centre in Thurrock. That place is full to the brim with undefended Nokia's. And I mean *teeming* with 'em !

Just stumbled across a couple of newer bluejacking sites, thought i'd post, http://www.bluejackers.co.uk/ and http://www.ibluejackedyou.com, both are forum based sites, ibluejackedyou has a good idea that i've not seen used before, they have a short url ( ibjy.co.uk ) and suggests you add ‘You were bluejacked by from ibjy.co.uk come and find me ' to your bluejacking contacts, sounds like it could be a laugh, certainly a new twist anyway, thought you'd want to know

I had to go to a town called "Greve" to get my T68i unlock.. and on the way home in the train i tried to bluejack.. I found a Nokia 6310i But the phone got out of range before i could send a message.. 10 min. later i sad in the bus and tried again.. This time i found a new phone this time it was called "phone" but again the phone got out of range before i colud send a message.. 2 point 0

I also told my sister's kid (13) how to bluejack...

I just called me to say that he had just bluejack a guy.. while watching a football game?? So you also can bluejack here in denmark..

Bluetooth is ment to work within about 100m's although i've never managed to get it to work that far apart before. You don't need a direct line of sight between the two phones either.

I was sat in Pizza hut the other day and saw a young lad (only about 10) sat on the table near me. I noticed he had a T610 (the same as me so I quickly pulled out my phone and searched the area to see if he had bluetooth turned on (he did). I change my phone name to "orange", took a picture of a bottle of coke (don't ask why a bottle of coke) and set it 2 him...It took him a while untill he accepted it but in the end he did. I thought it was pretty funny+he did look quite confused.

Posted by jellyellie
@Mjudge

the Bluetooth range for phones/PDAs etc. is 10m

Posted by Universal Exports
Yes, only ten meters, so far! They have developed a new blutooth standard wich has a 100 meters range. The Z1010 uses the new standard.A must for Jellyellie, then she can bluejack even more. But then theres no sport to it anymore

Posted by jellyellie
100m would be no fun because the whole point in 10m is that it must be someone nearby you

Posted by vinnieza
it is only 10M and the other device must have it's bluetooth on/discoverable.

Oh, I dunno - I'd like more range. I would find it useful because I could sit in my garden and bluejack all the commuters who come out of the trainstation near where I live and have parked their poxy cars in the street as opposed to paying the station car parking fees, meaning none of the residents can park their cars in their own road.
I don't send unpleasant messages but I'd be bloody tempted to tell them exactly where to stick their business briefcases, corner first - if I could get all of them en masse, even better. I think in the summer I'll be taking my laptop and bt usb adapter out into the garden, as that has more range than my phone ...

I've just walked what feels like miles from the car with bags of shopping and stuff from two streets away, grumble grumble.

Have any of you guys got anyone from a moving vehicle ? I hit someone a few nights ago as we drove past the bus queue !

i've tried but i never find anyone

Posted by vinnieza

i also don't blaim Jelly after all her websites called bluejackq how are people going to know where the website is? they don't even know what name we have given to it, it could have been called Blue Hacking or bluetooth messaging! Anyway they would have probably found out some time or enougher.

edit: added itallics

Ellie is right - most people still don't know what bluejacking is - otherwise we wouldn't be getting so many victims.

I think over time it will change anyway - I'm betting it will become a way of messaging people and then trying to guess who it was by asking bj questions rather then playing 'get the unsuspecting victim'.

It could also be a neat way of getting a date!

Today I jacked a guy (sent him a contact saying "Greetings from Cyberwitch") who stood up (in a shopping centre) and said, loudly to the assembled throngs, "Hello ... Cyberwitch ?"
Everyone turrned to look so I turned to him and waved. "Hiya !" I said, then went back to my perusing of the shoes in thr window of River Island. Apparently his face was the picture of puzzled amusement. He was like, "oh, what ?"

So it just goes to show that even if they do know what has happened to them (I got the impression he was waiting for a jack cos his phone was called "What do ya want ?", when it happens the effect can still be pretty good.
I turned my t610 to discoverable to see if he would jack me back but he didn't.

I think those who don't want to play - who might get jarred off with it and who are slagging it off now - will turn their bt off, but those who think it's fun when they find out about it will turn it on when they might not have done so before.
So, some we'll lose and some we'll gain. Swings and roundabouts, innit.

Ajack, you started something big here, it's even made it onto the BBC news! Respect to Ajack, the creator of bluejacking. Ajack, you should get a copyright on bluejacking!

Personally, I dont eat or smell my phones too often. You probably WOULD find a Nokia pretty bad after you chewed on it for a while....

You friggen weirdo. You have no idea about good phone quality- especially with stupid signatures like that one.

ooi!!! suddenly and outta the blue, i got flamed for my sig!!!!! but i beg to differ on the last comment....i do know my phone quality and hence my sig and the fact that i use phones are testament enuf on wat i consider as good quality in a phone......cheers to you too mate......

Posted by Bluejackers
Well you honestly didn't expect anyone not to comment on it sooner or later did you?

There are some good and bad Nokias as there are some good and bad Ericssons and your sig is rather sweeping in its nature and some might find it rather offensive.

My 6310i is pretty neat and has one heck of a long standby time. My wife's T300 is cool too but limited with it's 4096 colours. Her new Samsung V200 is far better with it's display and polyphonic sound synthesizer but doesn't have bluetooth.

Each to their own and live and let live

Posted by JohnM
@Hurny: put your dummy back in lol. @bluejackers: T300 has 256 colour screen, not 4096.

@JohnM: rightly said mate....

Crikey - no wonder it looks so bad

De gustibus et coloribus non disputantdum est.

There are people who think Nokia makes utter crap phones (I admit I'm one of those) and people who think SE (or any other brand) makes crap.
Each person is entitled to his own opinion. So if someone put his opinion in his sig, so be it. Personally I find it quite funny (Most of my friends have nokias and well, the sig applies to all of their phones, even they think so

So if you happy with Nokia, too bad (by the way you do realise that Esato is an ericsson forum, don't you?) but so be it. Feel free to put whatever you like in your sig.
If your an SE fan, congratulations

Now let's end this off-topicness and get back to bluejacking.

Well, here is the story about my second bluejack attempt and the first one to succeed.
We were having a monthly meeting in our department and it was my turn to do a little
presentation and since well most of my colleques uses the bricks(blokia), I thought
they probably don't know anything about bluetooth(and sure of most them were clueless) then
I said what the hack let me talk about it, so I did and even mentioned things like sending an anonymous msg
to someone, pairing devices via bluetooth etc. Then after the presentation I took my cute T68i while my big boss
was saying something i didn't even hear a single thing then i found blokia 6310i and send the guy "Unknown Device Detected".
He looked at his brick for 5-15 sec and he switched it off immediately. I kept laughing at his confused
face until it was time for comments, I raised my hands said ok "I am sorry to say this but whoever
has 6310i i was the one who send u the "Unknown Device Detected" via bluetooth. I acted like I didn't
know who it was I send the msg to."

I must say, today I've realised that all blokia users think the same and i think they meant
for those who are actulally not supposed to have mobile phones.

Posted by Bluejackers
opinions are fine and we have 7 different phones in the house, all different and all have good points and bad points. I'll guarantee that you have never tried all current Nokia (or SE) models so making a sweeping statement is hard to justify.

The only comment I would make is that we should try and keep the language clean - we know there are 14 year old girls on the Forum and out of respect for them we should moderate the language. I'm surprised the Forum doesn't have a language filter.

Anyway, just had an awesome BJ

Went to Pets R Us and bought a 25KG bag of bird sand which I had to carry to the checkout - when I went in I saw the checkout guy texting with his P800 so I set up a BJ with "Christ this is heavy!" and hit the send button as I got to the checkout. He read the contact and then looked up at me and said "Did you just bluejack me?" - to say that I was amazed was an understatement and I damm near dropped the bag - apparently he has been bluejacking for months and is on Esato (forgot his handle) so if he reads this - Hi you !!!&^%%**
