Had fun in town today. Was bored of shopping sitting on a bench in town centre when i thought i would have a quick scan for any brick users. Lo and behold one popped up and as i couldn't see anyone i sent a message with " You have some wet paint on your back". Next thing some dude standing in front of me whips his brick out and 10 seconds later is whirling around trying to look at his back! I had to leave to stop him from realising it was me!

@Geezay
Hi to a fellow Zim.... Good to see you blazing a BJ trail across Africa...
Get yourself out to Sam Levys village and do the right stuff. Better yet, hang around Parliament and put the fear of the devil into the comrades as they walk in...

@masseur
What did I tell ya, wish I were a plane spotter, then I would be at Gatwick every day...

@Joe Freakynuts
Word to you mate! How are things back home - been flying the flag high for sure, J'ing at will. At the hotel I am staying, I have spotted a couple of BLOKIA users... tonight will be a good hunting night! You J the MPs for me in my absence!

Had a great bluejacked last week on the train. Had been jacking this 6310i for ages just sending loads of messages, but I guess it was on silent. We then stopped at a station and low anf behold but 4 business men walk into my carriage carrying 6310i and sit on the table in front of me. Did a scan and found all 4 of the phones: Martin, Wayne, Paul and Jason. Sent loads of messages to all of their phones, two phones had silent on but the other two phones were beeping constantly for about 20 mins, brilliant. They kept showing each other the messages i sent them and then they realised what it was and so started sending each other messages as well. 4 bluetooth convertees. I was sat behind them smiling but they didnt realise it was me. When they got off the train though they waited on the platform and as the train pulled away i waved my phone at one of the guys and he smiled back, knowing it was me. It was so much fun!!

Posted by supraking
Damn that seems like soo much fun i wish i had a reason 2 use a train maybe next time im on the bus?

Posted by Joe Freakynuts
@Geezay
I would take up the challenge and "fix" those MP's at every opportunity, but i would probably very quickly find myself receiving the "attentions" of Charlie Ten.

Besides, im about 8000 miles too far, now permanently based here in Brighton UK, where the BJ is good on any given day...

Keep us informed of your exploits.

Had fun at Heathrow T1 arrivals with all those folkes getting off the planes and the others standing around waiting for them. A good way of spending two hours waiting for a friend while they found their lost bag.....but it eats power!

while talking outside with my t610, i saw this other nokia 7650 person also on his phone. i then thought of bluejacking him and ended the call and tried to do that as i already have my bluejacking settings ready for use. when i tried looking for a phone (CONNECTIVITY > BLUETOOTH > MY DEVICES > MORE > PHONE) it didnt detect the 7650. im assuming that by doing the above im searching for phones within the specified 10m. i then tried sending POST NOTES, MY CARD'S and also tried by turning on my bluetooth first.

why cant i bluejack? does the nokia users have to turn on bluetooth first or issit already on by default?

Posted by supraking
The other fone has to have it turned on the reason were so lucky is that many idiots, sorry nokia users dont bother/know how to turn it off. Does any body know java so us t610 users can have a feature like that on sman 4 p800.

Posted by N.M.E.
Holy crap!
Remember a while ago someone was talking about drive-by blue jacking??
On my way to work this morning I was in the tunnel, (yes, the tunnel, as in we only have one in Perth) and I was driving next to this commodore and I thought I might aswell run a discovery. Not expecting anything, a phone popped up, but just as it did he pulled off the next exit and it came up as 'Unknown' and I didn't get to send a message. Was good to know that it can be down though I guess. It impressed me :P

Posted by Ericang
Something terrible.
I guess i m the first guy to get bash up for using Bluejacking.

Was in this meeting. While waiting for the CEo come deliver his speech, i got bored and start bluejacking my collgue's 7650.

I was smiling away when he walked up to me and kick me in the chair.
i asked him what happened. He showed me his phone.

"Eric P800 has sent you a VCARD"

Ops ........ !!!!!!!!!

I forgot to rename my phone !!!!!

@Ajack
Maybe you can add this feature in the new upcoming Sman.
Mask of the sender's phone name

Posted by ajack
@supraking:

The Java in T610 runs in a sandbox environment and thus you have very limited access to the other components in the phone.

@Ericang:

I usually have my phone name changed when I want to bluejack.

Posted by N.M.E.
Haha. Kicked you in the chair..That must have hurt

Posted by Vlammetje

Guess you will now alwiz remember to rename your phone!

Posted by shithappens
thou shall ALWIZ rename your fon....ALWIZ!!!! its the cardinal rule!

Posted by Vlammetje
For those who are likely to forget: you need to PERMANENTLY rename your fone to summat untraceable

We *NEED* more BT phones in the states! Everytime I'm in a crowded place I try to bluejack, but the only time I'm successful is when I'm in an electronics or computer store like Best Buy or CompUSA and I bluejack the PDA on display! Its fun watching the sales guy freak out, but its just too easy!

I always seem to be last to arrive at the party, only just found this thread.
Cannot wait to get on the long train home now, hopefully a bluejacking noob will get himself some scalps on his first hunting mission.

Wish me luck!!

@Ron_L: Try bluejacking here in Chile (i bet no1 knows where Chile is ) every1 here is using n*kias 3390's I think that's because they're very cheap... almost nobody knows what bluetooth is!

nearly had someone yesterday but surpringly slim pickings on the train.
still got my fingers crossed

Posted by Fritz24
YAY got my first Bluejacking yesterday

Was sat in Walkabout in Nottingham watching the (dull) England match. The pub was packed so the idea suddenly sprang to mind.

Did a quick search and lo and behold, found two Nokia 6310i's and someone called Chubb. Sent my 'My phone is better than yours' contact to one of the Nokias.

A guy just in front of me gives his phone a strange look, then shows it to all his mates. To cap it all one of his buddies then waves his arm for some reason and knocks the phone out of his hand

Oh the satisfaction...

@ N.M.E. : - re 'drive by jack' - "Twas I" ( must be an Aussie thing, prob. coz we spend so much time in cars - big cities & all)

Actually called it 'high speed' jacking; not real keen on 'drive-by' as an moniker (bad connotations).

Keep searchin' - let's see who bags one first

Was in a business meeting yesterday; was explaining
BT to him & did a scan- - up pop 2 x "phones" and "IPAQ".

Did the usual virus thing, the clients freakin out coz I'm jacking his colleagues!

Any one else got a pocket PC yet too?

Almost a vic-pic today, not sure i had the right guy (at cafe) as had two on the radar, but he kept looking at his phone, n unfortunately at me too! Kept cool tho, my phone's outa sight every time his goes off

Posted by Donis
oooer.... live pc on my train at the mo. cannot see where!

using the sman tool but getting obex failure, anyone know what that means?
also anyone know what happens when you hit a pc? does what you send just appear in a dialogue box?

cheers
donis

Cool. I can live with High Speed Jacking :P

Grr...I picked up a 7650 at the lights coming off the freeway this morning, but they turned green before I got to send anything. I tailgated the nicest looking car assuming it was them, but no luck. I wonder if it's possible to upgrade your BT chip in the phone? I'd quite like to put a 100m one in. I kept finding phones in the shopping center last night, but they must have been walking in the other direction because they dropped out pretty quickly. Anyone have any info on the BT chip in the T610??

Posted by Laza
@NME: no, I don't think it's possible to upgrade the chip, that would involve soldering it out and putting another one in...and 100m BT drains much more power than normal 10m.

OBEX error (object exchange) was explained (again) a few pages back, but guess it can be stated again..it means that the contact was not successfully sent, the receiver probably doesn't have auto-accept turned on. On his device the receiver can probably see a 'accept vcard from xx ?' - message.

Posted by N.M.E.
@LAzo: The soldering isn't much of a problem, but I guess the battery power would cause an issue. I might wait til the warranty runs out before I even start thinking about mods like that :P

...or wait for the Z1010!

The GOB (Games of Bluejacking) is really quite good fun.
I would be intrested in hearing what 'dummy contacts' people have on there phone ready to be sent. E.g. Whats the best and most funny contact that we could send ?

Any suggestions for a top ten list ?

Posted by Dj Boyi
@simpsons,read the thread,theres plenty of contact idea's here already

Posted by supraking
I only have the original 'buy sony ericsson'

Posted by shaggyhog
doesn't invasive advertising usually have the opposite effect, e.g pop-up windows, junk mail, unsolicited calls

Doh !

Silly me I though people out there might have some new and interesting suggestions which have not yet been done over and over etc.

MY FIRST Jacking today.........YAY!!!!!

I was at a different school for one of my subjects, did a scan in the café and up popped "nics 3650"..... i was like....... ..... an oppertunity to bluejack. So i took it up.

I created a business card sayin "welcome to **** high school", turned around to see if any1 looked at their fone and this women took her fone out her bag and looked at it pretty strangely, she put her fone back i her bag, lay it with her friends and went off a walk, so i took up the chance to send more.......but i kept receiveing the "connection failed" message, after a few trys i got it again. Sent one sayin "nice bag" lol, the women looked a little...... shocked to say the least, she showed her pals the phone and they started to look around, i had my backs to them at this point. My pal who i was sittin with said she works in river island, so i sent a message askin her if she enjoyed working there, and she looked even more worried , poor lass

I continued to send her messages and she eventually figured out who it was, she came over and said......."technology on my phone isn't workin" , i was like.....thats wat nokia's are like , while i sent blue tooth messages she sent post-its , it was quite funny and a good first time at blue jackin.

Just thot id share it all with you

Steve

@scottish_steveo,nice one mate you were lucky to have a victim in the same room as you for a period of time,damn! Now this would be the only reason that i wish i was back at school!!!!!!!

Posted by supraking
Damn thats funny i wish people in my area would stop tryin 2 show off their 33*0s (only manage till i whip out my t610) and buy a better phone. They make it too difficult to find them

Posted by warrmr
i tryed to jack the BT printer in Tmobile agian and the connection kept failing even after i paired it cos they havent changed the pass key. i tryed to send 2 times unpaired and 1ce paired.

and i saw 3 7650s i couldent jack cos they had there self defence on(they were on the phone) so yesterday was a unsuccessfull jacking day

i was having dinner at a restaurant at cyberzone at sm north edsa with my family and i saw this guy tinkering with his girlfriend's blokia 3650. i immediately whipped out my trusted t68mi and got ready for a bluejacking. i searched for the 3650 and found a phone with a name i have forgotten. i got ready to send the message "phone infected by virus!" and pressed the send button as i was putting my phone back in my pocket, but to my surprise another guy in the table in front of me was the one who suddenly took out his nokia 7650. he read the message and with panic showed it to his friend who probably told him it was some kind of prank, coz the guy with the 7650 calmed down. it was a good thing i kept my phone before i sent the message or they would have guessed it was me since i was in full view of them.

Nice one lawboy,about time someone posted a bluejacking story,its been quiet for a couple of days now,i'm gonna hunt some nokia's tomorrow

Posted by Roamerick
Two nights ago I was coming back home from town on a bus when I decide to do a scan, as is now my custom whenever I'm bored in a crowded place. I found this phone called "Yes I want" (did he read Ajack's swingers article?) and sent him my standard "Hey, turn around!!" message. Sure enough this indian guy sitting right at the front of the bus looks at his phone, turns 180 and starts glaring at everyone. Then he showed it to his mate across the aisle, and they were both going "what's this bluetooth? it says bluetooth message!"

Neither had a clue. Jacked him a couple more times before leaving, and every time he did a spin and glare, lol! And yes, it was a 6310i, by far THE most bluejackable phone I have found so far!!

Can't wait for Sman 1.2

Posted by shaggyhog
i sent 'Bon Voyage from The Hog ' to all the people i could find checking in on the eurostar on tuesday.

i thought it was the nicest bluejacking i ever did!

and yeah there are disproportionately far more 6310i that i have jd than i see people using-- they are vulnerable souls...

[ This Message was edited by: shaggyhog on 2003-09-19 00:44 ]

Posted by Dj Boyi
I discover a lot with the name 'phone' which i'm thinking that they are 6310i's because maybe nokia did'nt have the technology to show the phone name when they made them!

Posted by jamba
Cooooool !!!!!! I did the same thing to my wife and as usual, she was amused with with my cruelty to her Nokia. I've been an Ericsson user since the R380 models.

TIP : When you do this, make sure that you change your Phone's Name (Connectivity-Bluetooth-Options-Phone Name) to something that cannot be traced to you !!! May I suggest placing "SE Rules" ?

Cheers !!!

Posted by lowrida5656
i tried this with my dads 6310i but it didnt work... it only worked when i actually went to the menu and turned blue tooth on and i couldent find a option so it was always on without an icon on the screen. and if people didnt know anything about bluetooth y would they change any settings to let people be able to bluejack them? is this the same with any nokia or are the newer ones differant???
